"Olympus Heroes Heracles Chapter" or "Blaze comic"? Which one will we do next?

Hello there,

As November approaches, we need to decide which comic to prioritize, since that month will be dedicated to design work and scriptwriting. We won’t have the resources to handle both projects at once, so we’ll have to choose one.

So, here’s the situation: progress toward the funding goal for the next Olympus Heroes chapter (which would be Heracles) has barely moved since the relaunch. Some people have donated — and we’re truly grateful for that — but we’re still far from the total needed to produce a full chapter.

If we combine donations and our remaining extra funds from the Odysseus chapter, we’re only at about half the amount required for a full chapter. Technically, if we include the monthly subscriptions as well, we just barely have enough to complete it. So all good, right? But there’s a catch.

Subscriptions fluctuate — new people join, others leave. And while most of our supporters have been incredibly loyal (thank you so much for that, by the way!), we haven’t seen much new blood joining to offset the natural flux of the few who leave.

So, the current Olympus Heroes situation is this: we could technically go ahead with the Heracles chapter, but doing so would completely burn through all of our remaining extra funds. And since some subscribers will inevitably leave for their own reasons, that would leave the next next chapter in a very difficult spot — we simply wouldn’t be able to make it at all without a big outside help.

On the other hand, there’s the Blaze comic (completely unrelated to Olympus Heroes — it’s a retelling of the Sonic OVA ‘96, reimagined through Blaze’s dimension). We'd plan to release one page per month, which'd make it far less resource-intensive. That means we’d still maintain a comfortable buffer, even if the number of new patrons doesn’t exceed those who leave. We believe we could complete that one relatively easily.

That said, since we started with Olympus Heroes, I completely understand if people prefer that we continue it until it’s finished — I’d love to finish it too! But unfortunately, given the workload involved, it’s simply impossible to complete it for free.

So, I’ll let you decide.
