Deepspace: The Center Pt2 (Ea)(Com)

A commission for last_of_workers

All the captains were neck deep in anomalies, battling with all their might not only to survive but also to succeed in their plan to get away from the anomalies. Team one was in the midst of a battle with a large gnome, while team three was stuck in a maze fighting a giant lizard.

Team two was still on their way to the power plant, while team four was split between helping team two and team three. It was truly intense, and it seemed like all the odds were against them, but none of them were willing to give up.

In the command center where team one was fighting the gnomes, they were starting to get exhausted and were running low on power. Up until now, the captains and gnomes had gone all out, but Maxtom noticed they were starting to damage the control systems.

If they broke too much of it, they wouldn’t have any way to access the systems needed to use the warp core. So she used her comms and called out to her team, telling them they needed to come up with a different game plan.

The team went on the defensive and started protecting what was left of the system while they came up with a bit of a wild plan. Orin recalled what remained of her drones and took them apart in her body to repurpose them. She then created two things that weren't drones.

The first is a very large net, and the second is a very sexual-looking female garden gnome. Orin gave the garden gnome to Maxtom, who took it and went into subspace. She then quickly ran through the army of gnomes, dropping the female garden gnome in the middle of them.

She then continued running until she was on the other side of the room. As she made it to the other side of the room, the army of evil gnomes noticed the female garden gnome and thought it was real, so they all started to focus on it instead of the captains.

So now the large army was in the center of the command center arguing about who gets the female garden gnome. That was when the rest of the plan came into action. Maxtom came out of subspace, and Orin launched part of the net to her.

They both quickly pull it down, getting all of the gnomes stuck inside it. Of course, they wouldn’t be trapped for long, so to ensure they’ll no longer be a problem, Gayge grabbed the net and sent a psionic blast through it, causing every single gnome to explode.

Despite succeeding in this plan, team one stayed on guard, thinking that there was no way it was over, but to their surprise, they had done it; they beat the gnomes and the anomalies currently in the command center, which meant they claimed it.

The team celebrated for a moment but then got right back to work. They contacted the other teams to let them know the command center was claimed and that they were preparing it to be used. While they did that, team two finally made it to the power plant.

At first it seemed like the coast was clear and they could hook the warp core right up, but trouble soon found them. Among the many anomalies going on around them came one that created copies of each captain, copies that were pure evil and wanted to kill their originals.

Each member of team two, along with their backup from team four, was separated, trapped in a different part of the power plant fighting their copy, which wasn't working out since they were evenly matched, which was bad for the real captains.

While they wouldn’t be defeated by their copies, the originals didn’t have a whole lot of time before their chance to succeed in their plan failed and they were trapped here forever, which the copies didn’t have to worry about.

Briyelle tried to ask if Elber was free to come and help them, but they were still fighting the lizard in the maze, while team one was stuck protecting the power plant from any more anomalies that could come, so they had to deal with this on their own.

“The captains began their fight with their clones, and it was quite intense. Deron and her counterpart were clashing waves of nanobots, causing shockwaves to be sent through the power plant, even causing some of the metal in the ceiling to fall down.

One of those pieces hit the warp core, which caused Zaxary to stop and panic. She ran over and looked at it and found it had a crack down the middle. It was repairable, but not in time before they needed to use it.

Zaxary called out over the comms and told everyone that the warp core was damaged, which got most of them panicked. They asked Zaxry if it was possible to still use it once, but she was unsure and said she’d see what she could do.”

After fighting for several minutes and struggling to come up with a plan, Cayne watched her copy go into overdrive mode, which made it stronger. She started to activate hers when she was suddenly hit and sent flying across the power plant right into Deron.

Despite being hit, Cayne activated overdrive mode and discovered something quite interesting. When she’s touching one of the other captains while in overdrive, she could share that power with them, making them stronger.

Suddenly Deron was in overdrive as well, and because of it she was able to produce extreme amounts of nanobots in a completely new way. Simply by absorbing microscopic elements in the air, her body was suddenly transforming them into what she needed for nanobots.

She quickly had nearly fifty times the amount of nanobots she normally had, and she had perfect control over them. Both Deron and Cayne were amazed, but they had to act quickly. Cayne told Deron to take out her copy before it realized it could use its overdrive on its allies.

Deron nodded and sent a tsunami of nanobots towards the Cayne clone, completely covering it in a nanobot swarm and completely tearing it to pieces. Cayne then quickly let go of Deron and using her full strength, she pushed past the Deron clone’s nanobot shield and took it out.

That left two enemies to take out, and even though it would put quite a lot of wear on her parts, Cayne continued to use overdrive as she ran towards her allies. Next up was Briyelle, who was running in circles with her copy.

Cayne managed to get to Briyelle in order to touch her and share the overdrive power. As soon as she had it, she started to feel a large amount of pain, similar to when she was charging. Cayne was going to stop sharing the power, but Briyelle said she could deal with it for a moment.

Briyelle touched through it and used her boosted power to teleport herself and Cayne around the copy, allowing Cayne to use her full power to punch the copy over and over until it was knocked out. Once it was out cold, the whole group went over to aid Zaxary, who was with the warp core.

Of course Zaxary was the only one not in danger from her clone, as, despite being evil, the clone still loved knowledge and fixing machines and started helping her make temporary repairs to the warp core.

The other captains saw them working on it and shared a look of confusion as they watched, but in the end, the evil clone turned out to be helpful and they got the warp core up and running and Zaxary was positive it would work once.

With that the evil clone went back to being evil and trying to kill Zaxary, which was quickly stopped by the combined power of the other captains boosted by Cayne’s overdrive ability. The clone was defeated easily and fell to the ground.

With all the clones knocked out, another anomaly came about and made them all vanish. Zaxary seemed a bit disappointed but then realized they were getting short on time. So she and the rest of team two got to work.

Briyelle used the comms to tell the other teams they claimed the power plant and that the warp core was working for now and that they were setting up to use it now, which meant they only needed team three to claim the lab and they could complete the plan.

Of course, things were still crazy over in the maze; they were stuck inside fighting the giant lizard. The giant lizard had been losing the battle, but an anomaly occurred, giving it a bit of a last-minute advantage.

The anomaly completely recovered the giant lizard as well as replaced its skin with a thick, nearly indestructible metal. Because of that, none of the captains were having any luck damaging it now, even when combining powers.

It was looking like they were going to lose, but Elber wasn’t going to give up; she kept trying to come up with a plan and thinking back to the abilities of all the captains she was with. There had to be something they could do.

As they jumped around attacking, Elber found herself standing next to Johnath, and that’s when it hit her. The giant lizard was still entirely biological like Johnath, which meant there was likely a frequency that would mess with its head like it did with Johnath.

Elbar asked Johnath if she was capable of creating sounds like the giant lizard had. Johnath looked confused and after speaking to Titan Green it turns out she could use her antennas. Elber was happy to hear it and told her to find out which frequency messed with the lizards.

Elbar then changed her arms so that they were sound cannons, which could copy a sound they heard and project it outward. She then ran over to Vycter and told her to switch arms so she also had a sound arm cannon.

Vycter let out a nervous laugh as she said she couldn’t use any parts that didn’t look humanish. Elber shook her head and said she had forgotten, then she quickly altered her left arm to make it look just like Vycter’s so she could use it.

Elber then gave her the arm and ran off with only one arm. She then made her way to Nyco. Once they were next to each other, Elber explained the plan, and Nyco nodded, saying she could actually help as well by bouncing sound off her energy wings.

Elber was glad to hear it and then called out to the entire team and told them it was time to take down the giant lizard. With all of them ready, they quickly got on all the sides of the lizard and waited for Johnath to make the sound.

Once she did, Vycter and Elber were able to copy it and blast the lizard with even more of the sound, all while Nyco stayed flying right in front of the lizard's head, bouncing the sound right back at it. The lizard started freaking out and thrashing around erratically, but in the end it passed out.

As soon as the lizard hit the ground, the maze and the lizard vanished, revealing to the captains the lab and the source of all this chaos, the column. The team did a quick check around for more enemies or harmful anomalies but they were in the clear.

Elber used the comms to tell the others they claimed the lab and were now checking to see if any of their names were on it. They then walked over to the column and checked it, and to their surprise, all of their names were on the column in different spots.

They all let out an awkward laugh, as it was a bit unsettling, but it was good, as no matter who got here, they would have been able to turn the column off. Now having claimed all three areas in the center of Zeta-13, they were on the final step of the plan.

After a few minutes, team two used the comms to tell the others the warp core was hooked up and working properly. Team one spoke up afterwards, saying they could confirm that and that they were ready to use it.

Team three finished up by saying they were all ready as well to deactivate the column. Johnath walked over to the column and put her hand on it and waited for the countdown. Briyelle started counting down from ten.

When it hit one, Johnath deactivated the column and Gayge activated the warp core. Everything started to shake and the captains all stood around nervously. After nearly a minute of waiting, Jirlopos-4, zeta-13 and all the captains were teleported to a different part of deep space.

As soon as the warp ended, the warp core broke down, meaning they couldn’t use it again, at least until it was repaired. That wouldn’t have been a big deal if they were safe though, which they thought they were until team three used the comms again.

They were panicking because the column was still here. They thought it would have been left behind, but if it was still here, that meant it would reactivate and create more anomalies. All of the other captains quickly made it to the lab to check it out.

As a pleasant surprise along the way, there wasn't a single anomaly, meaning they got there quickly. They all found themselves standing around the column watching it, wondering what was going to happen next.

They had many theories, most of which involved the destruction of everything or the return of the crazy anomalies, but none of them expected to watch the column try to turn back on only to fizzle out and fall to the ground.

Following that the names all seemed to vanish, and it lay on the ground looking like a normal piece of metal. The captains all took a deep breath; it was clear it was over, the column had no more power, which meant there were no more anomalies.

The captains, in their first real moment of peace, started to celebrate, after which they then made their way to the surface to see where they ended up, and to their luck, they warped close to the border of deep space and their home galaxy. Now the captains were truly safe, and they claimed the prize they all wanted. Now the real challenge they all face is what they should do with it.
