Hi J&J,
As a Colombian I can confirm that the fruit for ripe coffee is red, it starts as a flower and then becomes a fruit and goes from yellowish green to red, when it's fully red it's when it becomes great coffee and then it goes through a long process of removing the pulp and drying the seeds out which are actually a light beige color, afterwards when they are roasted that's when they become brown coffee color and depending on the altitude of the land where it has been grown and the type of roast the beans get you end up with different notes and aromas in the final product. Here in Colombia coffee is grown pretty much everywhere in the country and depending on the altitude they have slight differences in flavor, depth and richness.
I am in no way a coffee expert but here we grow up drinking coffee and learning about the coffee process from my young age, I remember I was drinking coffee when I was four, it wasn't actually until I was older in my teen years that I found out that in other countries children are not allowed to drink coffee π± which was very strange and surprising for me, keep in mind that Colombian coffee is very mild though so.....
Thank you so much for your reactions guys and have a wonderful week see you next Sunday.
Love from Colombia β€οΈ
