Fruits Basket - 2x22 REACTION!!

Yukiru shippers were quiet whenever you asked about what side we were on for a reason hahahaa. I was a Yukiru shipper until the reveal of Tohru being a mum to Yuki. It was mainly because I personally get very put off by more aggressive people even if they have good intentions and so I didn't like the way Kyo would speak to Tohru and how he hurt her a lot with his words. Anyways, once I accepted that Yuki wasn't the love interest I loved the yukiru dynamic even more. Tohru and Yuki are the main characters of the show (also stated by the author) due to how much of the story focuses on them, so to have our 2 main characters not be romantic love interests?! What an incredible idea! We need more shows like that, shows that have opposite gender main leads and focus on the platonic relationship, one that doesnt turn romantic.

I understand that people often emphasize the importance of maintaining independence in a relationship and it’s true that some individuals can lose sight of themselves when they’re with someone. But I also believe it’s just as important to be able to lean on your person. Your partner should be your best friend, your safe space, and the one who knows how to carry you when life gets heavy. That’s why I love both the Rin x Haru and Kyo x Tohru ships in Fruits Basket. On the surface, it might seem like one person in each pair is carrying more of the emotional weight, Haru supporting Rin through her trauma, and Tohru being Kyo’s emotional anchor. But if you really look closer, these couples are incredibly balanced. They show us that strength doesn’t mean never needing help, it means being willing to accept love, even when you feel broken. Rin may lean on Haru, but she also gives him clarity...she sees through the chaos and challenges him to think for himself, even if it hurts. She doesn’t coddle him, and that fierce honesty is something Haru deeply respects and needs. And while Tohru comforts Kyo, Kyo challenges her to face truths she’s been running from. It’s not about one partner being “stronger”.... it’s about mutual growth and emotional trust. These couples embody the beauty of being there for each other without losing themselves. I’ll always advocate for them because they show that real love isn’t about being perfect or self-sufficient 100% of the time, it’s about being brave enough to say, “I need you,” and knowing the other person will say, “I’ve got you.” P.S. I'd like to say welcome and congrats to you J&J on all of the new subscribers. I'm so happy this beautifully written anime have brought so many kind souls into the community! :) Welcome everyone!
