Hi there!! I’m a newbie too that binged episodes to get here from your S1E1 reaction on YouTube 😂. I just wanted to say a little more on the conversation that Rin and Tohru had about the curse. Rin mentioned that hundreds of years ago the zodiac animals and god made a promise to be together forever, a bond that started out so good and pure, made with the best intentions of seeing the people you love in every lifetime, was tainted and “cursed” because of human nature. Humans, specifically people in the Soma clan, are assumingly the only ones in this Fruba world that can change into zodiac animals. And bc of this blood bond the zodiac spirits have to the god, it was taken advantage of by the human reincarnation of god throughout their history leading to what we see today with Akito 🤢. A whole clan/cult (like others mentioned cause it really is like a cult) built around taking advantage of this once pure bond, perpetuating cycles of abuse, leaving zodiac members with no hope or will to fight back is so disturbing. Human greed of wanting and keeping power centralized in the “family” throughout the years is what I believe caused the bond to become a curse; not allowing humans, who are curious beings, to explore the world outside the family, keeping them stagnant. What are your thoughts? Sorry if that was long I just feel very strongly about so many aspects about this show haha. I really enjoy both your thoughts on this amazing story. P.S. During the flashback scene of when Haru was talking to Rin about how Yuki and Kyo mellowed out bc of Tohru, Haru is wearing Kyo’s clothes that back in S1 when Haru changed into the cow to bring Yuki home when Yuki was sick, Haru had no other clothes with him (cows are too big to wear human clothes) so he borrowed Kyo’s. So basically after Haru made sure that Yuki was okay at Shigure’s he went home in Kyo’s clothes and spoke with Rin that same day about how Tohru mellowed them out. Just a cute little detail that I picked up on after many rewatches!!

2025-06-15 06:42:16 +0000 UTCHello, I also saw the youtube reaction and came here to sub and binge watch your reactions ^_^ I'm so glad this anime got a re-make; the original 2001 version had absolutely no Rin it at at all. I think Kureno either wasn't in it or only briefly enough that it didn't stand out to my younger self; so I really appreciate this remake including things that were missing from the first anime especially since I couldn't get my hands on the manga to help sate my curiosity about the horse zodiac. Thanks for the in depth look with fresh eyes; It's always fun for me to watch people experience things I love for the first time with their opinions and this Anime is one of my all time favorites.
