Honestly, I love this arc! It's not as flashy as the last arc, but it absolutely has its charm, along with plenty of incoming backstories. I'd like to remind you guys that our boy, Tanjiro, is literally still recovering from his last fight. He mentions quite a few times that his sense of smell is not where it should be, so he's going into this battle against a stronger Upper at less than optimal performance. And speaking of Uppers, I think you conveniently forgot that Akaza was the one who killed Rengoku, so we've seen him in action before. I don't blame you if you blocked it out of your memories though. I've got a love-hate relationship with #3 myself.

The boy that Muichiro saved at the end is Kotetsu, Muichiro just didn't recognize him just like he didn't recognize Tanjiro or Nezuko despite having already met them. As you saw, he seems to constantly wander off in thought and is unable to focus on anything, making him seem apathetic and indifferent. Always his head in the clouds like he's in the mist. He's really hard to understand and get a grasp on, even for Tanjiro who is a master at deciphering people. I can't wait for you to learn more about him (you'll understand when you get there, trust me).
