Taking something scary, like deciding to be the president, and embracing it, trusting myself that I can get through it. Despite the feeling of wanting to hide away and let myself disappear because it'd be so easy when everyone else is so bright. I love this episode for yuki's growth and learning how to become his own person, not letting others overshadow him but standing up for himself at kakeru's pressing and expressing himself. thanks for the great reaction as always!!

2025-05-22 22:28:37 +0000 UTCJust a quick clarification about something Kakeru says to Yuki when he tells him, “You said the same things as her,” he’s actually referring to his girlfriend. In the manga, she plays a meaningful role: her father was the driver who accidentally hit and killed Kyoko (Tohru’s mom). At first, Kakeru was angry at Tohru for receiving so much sympathy while his girlfriend’s family was also suffering. But it was his girlfriend who helped shift his perspective, she encouraged him to try seeing things from others’ points of view and show empathy. What’s interesting is that the anime kept that line of dialogue even though the girlfriend character was completely removed. They never explain it later, either, so I didn’t want you guys waiting for “her” to show up because she never does in the anime. Hope this helps clarify things for you and other first time watchers and keeps the story feeling cohesive!
