I mean who not feel for him when he says " I don't deserve to be happy". Everyone deserves happiness. Mayu has seen Hatori happy when he was with Kana, so she knows it is possible for him. Hatrori has seen the pain that his happiness caused, both his and Hana's pain, so he has decided he does not deserve. The scene on the bridge always gets me emotional. The symbolism of the bridge, bridging the gap between Mayu and Hatori's emotions and understanding is perfect. Hatori has lived with the drama and the control of the Soma's and he is tired of it. He's had to deal with the pain - mental, emotional and physical that surrounds the Somas for so long. I think he also see the younger Soma's freedom and envies it, while also knowing that the end of their freedom is approaching. But now, Kana had given Hatori a reason to run away and a safe place to run too. And yet again we see Shigure doing what he does best meddle and manipulate the people around him for his own desires. Although this time I do think he is doing to to help Hatori and Mayu find some happiness. Maturity and emotional depths of the last two episodes are perfect.
