Hwang Dongsoo getting bodied by Sung Il-Hwan delights me. as one of the responding characters states: "It was so fast... Almost instantaneous." after all of Dongsoo's peacocking around, Il-Hwan just wipes the floor with him, in the blink of an eye. karma and irony, *chef's kiss*. your reaction to the identity reveal was similarly delightful to see. we were only ever told once, back in the very beginning of s1, that Jinwoo's dad was "missing". some reactors i've seen jumped to conclusions immediately at learning that Il-Hwan's last name is "Sung" -- i quite enjoyed that you two did not, and that the family relation appeared wildly out of left field for you. i love hearing your theories. any predictions for how long it may take Jinwoo to get through the rest of the demon tower dungeon? what kind of challenge may await him for that last Elixir of Life ingredient? i'm buzzing with anticipation. amazing video, as always <3

2025-04-02 17:52:43 +0000 UTCThe only reason I haven’t written a book yet is due to lack of attention span to be honest. Though… my current fanfic that I’m writing is almost 300,000 words long. Apparently the average novel is about 60,000-100,000 words long, so… basically a novel lol. I like to write, what can I say? It's around this episode that my father told me that he believed that Jin-woo would end up turning evil. I never agreed with the theory, but I understand it, too. I believe in Jin-woo, though. Maybe it’s that I always believe the best in people, but… he’s good. I believe it. He’s a man who’s trying to save his mother. Power like he has is corrupting, yes, but look at what he’s doing with it? He has routinely prioritized other people’s lives (even as an E-Rank, even when it made him so angry and hurt to be left to die) He has yet to lose his understanding of the intrinsic value of human life, yet to think of himself as above them. Once upon a time, he was at the bottom, at the mercy of those stronger than him. Jin-woo’s father is someone who I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of. The man who was questioning him was an S-Rank, to my understanding. And, apparently, got beaten to a pulp for taunting Jin-woo’s father. Shows how strong the man is. I hope your theory of them coming to blows never occurs. Have I mentioned how much I love healthy family relationships? Give the man his missing parents back, and he definitely won’t turn evil. Also, 90% sure that Jin-woo’s dad appeared in America, hence: English, and Jesus. Next episode is one I very much enjoyed, so I hope that y’all love it too!

I am sure you will catch some details on your re-watch, but I hope these points help connect the dots around Hwang Dongsoo and Sung Il-Hwan: - Hwang Dongsoo is a S-rank hunter from America, who originally came to Korea to “find” Jinwoo and Jinho after his brother’s passing. So he was waiting at the Red Gate for Jinwoo, but he got a text on his phone and left while Jinwoo was still fighting the Ice Elves. - In this episode, Dongsoo was seen in the plane going back to America because he was called back to assist in Sung II-Hwan’s investigation. - We hear the two men speaking about Sung Il-Hwan, who said “he was trapped inside a gate ten years ago, unable to leave..and at some point he found an exit that took him to a gate in America..”, hence in the beginning of the episode we see Il-Hwan with a frightened man screaming “Oh No!” “Jesus!” 😂 and Il-Hwan’s attempt to speak English to the man saying “I’m human. I want to go home.” That was hilarious. - “Mr Hwang was defeated?” - Jordan, yes that is Hwang Dongsoo. It was a bit hard to tell since the scenes switch fast between Jinwoo fighting in the Demon’s Castle and the stuff thats happening outside at the same time. It does get confusing at times when they switch scenes so fast but you’re doing great! Love the reactions, thank you J&J! Take breaks 💜🙏
