Man, I wish I wasn't so late to the party, but I'll still say this very vague thing. In Shoto's flashback, you can see his siblings playing soccer. One girl (Fuyumi, who we already met) and two guys, one with mainly white, one with mainly red hair. That's all I'm going to say/point out about the Todoroki siblings 😅 Oh, and I'll say that Fuyumi is the second-oldest and only girl, so as the older sister, she has had to step into the "mom-role" a lot, especially after their mother was hospitalized, that explains a lot about her character ^^

It is essentialy a fantasy alternate universe that Horikoshi (the mangaka of MHA) created for his 2nd popularity poll, where fans vote for their favourite characters and then Horikoshi draws the winning characters, usually the top 10.

2025-02-13 22:17:08 +0000 UTCThe whole microwave metaphor that Midoriya uses is pretty great for him initially trying to grasp his power. "Imagine the egg not exploding in the microwave." If you put a whole, raw egg (still in its shell) in the microwave it will explode as the steam created inside the egg when cooking can't escape. Just like how One For All explodes Midoriya's body when he uses it at 100%. So he has to focus on not using 100% power so that this doesn't happen. Then the metaphor with the taiyaki takes him that step further. Midoriya just shoves a too big a plate with too many taiyaki into the microwave and expects them to all cook properly and the same. Just like he is forcing One For All into just one part of his body (his arm, his finger, his legs), as a result the rest of his body gets no power and it takes too long for him to then switch in his mind to using his power on another part (hence why he can use it on his legs to jump but then not his arms to brace himself). Midoriya then learns that he needs to disperse One For All evenly, like a microwave disperses heat through food evenly, so that he can use it in all parts of his body at the same time and switch quickly rather than going on and off all the time. Not going to lie, it took me a while to grasp this whole metaphor but it is certainly an interesting way to think about his power!
