People who appear cold and strict are always the nicest people. 🥹 Hattori really loves Kana, and instead of her staying with him and continuing to blame herself, he decided to leave her to find happiness with someone else, and he did not blame Akito, "who actually started the problem and get him blind" and he blamed himself and that it was his punishment for erasing the memories of the other "and who the one that ordered him to do that obv Akito". Hattori & Kana you two don't need to feel sorry from the start, and Hattori you are a living mass of Kindness 😇❤️.
P.S: I don't know If Jared called momiji "she" by mistake or he didn't put together but momiji is a male that's why when he huged tohru he turned to bunny

Love your reaction guys...back with another fun fact i've gathered through the years of re-watching Fruits Basket....Hatori’s zodiac form is a dragon, but within the reinterpretation, his “dragon” form manifests as a seahorse or sea(dragon). This choice isn’t random—it draws from Japanese culture, where the seahorse is affectionately referred to as a “baby dragon.” Adding another layer of symbolism, the seahorse belongs to the genus Hippocampus, a name derived from its resemblance to the curved structure of the brain’s hippocampus.
The hippocampus, known for its role in creating and storing long-term memories, ties seamlessly into Hatori’s character. His ability to hypnotize and erase memories is both a literal and metaphorical reflection of this brain structure’s function. The connection between the hippocampus, the seahorse, and Hatori’s unique role within the Sohma family highlights the thoughtful and amazing writing of the series! Love this show!!!

This show is honestly one of my favorite anime romances. I have other ones that I love in Manga/Manhwa but out of the romance mangas that have been adapted to anime, Fruit basket is up there for me. I can’t wait for you guys to get deeper into the show. Something I love about this show is how they handle trauma/backstories. Fruit basket is a light hearted show but the more you get into it, the more you see them touch on other things that I can’t really say without spoiling. 😩 Anyways it’s a great show that I think does a really well job in touching on the emotions of the characters and understanding the psychologically of all of them and that makes it feel more real to me.
Anyways this is a little random but with the love triangle of Tohru, Yuki, Kyo that’s going on, I’m curious who do you think Tohru will end up by the end of the show? Maybe it’s too soon to guess bc there’s so many episodes left to watch, but I’m curious as of right now who do you think she’s gonna end up with?

I want a man like Hatori! A man who loves so deeply he is willing to give up that love for the happiness of the other. I fell in love with Hatori in this episode.
It is extremely sad that while Kana does not remember her relationship with Hatori, he remembers every moment and all the pain. He feels responsible for her pain, he could have saved her from all that she went through if they had just not gotten together.
Hatori is suffering too and that is why he put up such a cold facade to keep everyone away. But then Tohru appears with her ever present kindness to begin to thaw Hatori’s emotional walls like Kana did.
I love how Tohru says that isn’t funny how spring comes again and when it comes it melts the snow. Hatori maybe frozen in snow but that does not mean a new spring won’t arrive to melt his frozen heart. Hatori’s expression in that moment as he realizes this.

Is it possible to put dororo in the next poll? The anime is finished and it’s only 24 episodes

Hello J&J, I'm happy you both are enjoying Fruits Basket! Also, thank you for reading my comment from episode 1. I don't think I have the qualifications for a life coach, lol, but I'm just someone who's willing to lend a shoulder or an ear if someone needs it.
Also, this episode is a top favorite! The story opens up here with learning more about the Sohmas and a little more depth on some of the introduced characters and their relationships. I like how Hatori describes himself as snow, or winter, and Kana as spring. No matter how long the winter continues, spring always finds a way, like a fresh new spring breeze.
Love isn't perfect, and people interpret it in many ways. Love for a parent, sibling, or significant other are all different types of love. Love can be twisted or pure. As you both said, love is powerful and something that, to this day, no one can perfectly describe because it is imperfect. Hatori, as he said, fell in love with Kana and described it as an instinct, a need—like clothing, food, and sleep. Love is a necessity in our lives. Though I believe that the love and acceptance he felt from Kana sparked that love in him—to love and accept himself and grow. It's unfortunate how they had to end their relationship. His love and sacrifice for Kana allowed her to go, erased her memory, and allowed her to find her own happiness, despite him keeping those memories of their time together. Like a spring breeze, short and sweet, but impactful until a new one comes along.
Always enjoying both your reactions, and I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

‘Love is the most twisted curse of all’ Gojo
Welp, I’m keeping my fingers crossed Hairy Harry will not fall in love with Thoru. Harry, my guy, she too young for ya yk yk ya aint Diddi brotha
By the way… the sexy stuff between zodiacs and humans must be quite… interesting, I think 🤣 Imagine doing your thing with your beloved one and they suddenly transform into a sea horse 😂
Btw, since everyone is doing it, I’m from the year of a goat 🐐 The description doesn’t fit me, tho

Hatori’s zodiac is actually the dragon 🐉 However, over the years the zodiac curse has weakened so Hatori can’t turn into a full-blown dragon, he turns into a smaller version of it which is a seahorse. In Japanese, the term seahorse also translates to sea dragon, or literally “the illegitimate child of the dragon.” So I know it seemed a little random but there is a connection between the two lol. Hatori gets self-conscious about the fact that his form is basically a baby dragon, but personally, I think it’s very fitting. It’s so unlike his appearance but it’s so precious like his soul☺️ He’s such a kind man and he deserves another chance at love. #ProtectHatoriAtAllCost

i just binged yall's reactions to fruba up & honestly i've been enjoying it a lot more than i expected. i watched the og 2001 version in elementary & was obsessed, but when i watched this version, i only made it up until ep 17. maybe i got too used to shonen or smth cause one day i found myself not enjoying shoujo's as much as i used to despite having binged like all of the romance & slice of life anime's i possibly could throughout elementary & middle. but watching it rn w yall has been very enjoyable & is reigniting my love for it. & it makes me want to rewatch all the other similar anime i was into
im the year of the rooster !! it sounds a little silly to me, but supposable we're hardworking, loyal, stubborn & honest. idk ab the hardworking part, i feel like im more "ambitious but lazy" at times loll
& from when you guys asked about what im grateful for, the main thing i thought of was my 3 bsf's who have been by my side since elementary. i know a lot of ppl dont find "their person" or "their ppl", so i appreciate the fact that i was able to find that within them. also grateful for the good relationship i have w my older brother. a lot of the ppl in my life have rlly terrible older brothers (hispanic families, specifically moms, tend to spoil their sons so they get away w doing anything), so i appreciate how gentle & caring my older brother tends to be to all of us. he's still a brother tho so he's an asshole a lot of the times too lmaoo
also this was from a few episodes back, but back to when jared fell down the stairs during the holidays, smth sort of similar happened to me actually. def not to the same extent as jared's tho (i hope you're feeling a lot better). during the break, i decided to reorganize my room around 3 am out of pure boredom & random motivation, so i was taking down the books on my bookshelf bit by bit. the step stool we have was in the garage & i just didnt feel like going to get it, so i decided to get on my rolly chair. i used it like this before so i wasnt worried, but i lost my balance & tried to step down from the chair to save myself, but i tripped backwards over the arm of the chair and fell straight on my back. it knocked the fucking wind out of me & it hurt badddd. the big ass chair also fell on top of me, but i didnt have the force to take it off of me at first; & all this while bad bunny is blasting in my ears from my headphones. it was the longest, most stressful minute of my life. when i got up, i just sat in silence for like 15 minutes before deciding to just go to bed. i had like big bruises on my legs & arm (theyre just now fading) & my back was super sore for about a week and a half. next time, im def just making the 40 second trip to the garage smh

Hatori's introduction and his backstory with Kana were what truly hooked me on Fruits Basket. This is where the show’s deeper and darker nature begins to unfold, and it's just the start of how twisted things get. Also, the seahorse is used to represent the dragon zodiac because, in Japanese mythology, seahorses are seen as "baby dragons." Plus, l imagine, it would be a bit much for Hatori to transform into a massive dragon every time he's hugged or sick 😅

I thought they'd bring up Outro:Tear at the end based on what Jordan said about shedding a tear. You can always find something to relate to BTS in any anime you watch 😊💜

Hiya Jared and Jordan! Episode 7 was definitely one of the episodes I was especially eager to see yalls reaction to! It is for sure one of the more heartbreaking episodes, with Hatori having to erase the memories of the love of his life. It still breaks me every time I watch this episode, and the parallel between Kana and Tohru is just so beautiful to me.
As for who was in the car that drove past Tohru at the end of the episode, it was Akito, not Yuki. There is so much mystery surrounding Akito and the type of person he is. I can't wait until yall learn more about him, as well as the other characters in Fruits Basket.
There are many episodes still ahead, the moments of joy and sorrow and happiness and agony. To experience all of this with you guys is truly amazing, and makes Thursdays the day I look forward to the most. Thank you yet again for giving it the opportunity to show how wonderful it is. Can't wait for next week!

This is true love when Hatori finally saw Kana after a few years and saw that she was happy he also was happy for her, even though it means that it's not with him.
Hatori backstory really sad.
Can't wait for next week 🤍🖤
