History nerd Mikage here to answer your question on the trolley! Electricity actually entered Japan in the late 1800s, and the Taisho era in particular was a very prosperous time in Japan. They came out of WWI on the winners side, so they had the money and the desire to bring in as much Western influence as they could (though they had started earlier). That means brick or stone buildings, paved streets and cars, and nights glowing with electricity. And of course, steam engine trains and street trolleys! Asakusa is a popular area in Tokyo, so would have seen lots of the modernization taking place here, so yup, this is accurate! I'll also add, it's not just the scenery but also the fashion of the Taisho era I love. The fashion is referred to as Taisho Roman (short for "romance" as in romanticism), and it's a combination of traditional styles (kimono) and Western styles popular at the time (gakuran/suits/dresses). Something about the way it all looks speaks to me, and Ufotable (the animation studio) really did a stunning job.

I think you might have missed the information about Kibutsuji Muzan's history and power; I hope I can explain it. :D In EP6, Urokodaki told us that Muzan isn't just a special demon; he is the first ever demon to exist, and he's been alive for around 1000 years! He is essentially the creator of every other demon and decides how strong a demon will be by the amount of blood he offers.

From a meta writing perspective I really like what the author did here. In Shonen, itโ€™s a very common trope to have the MC chasing after someone (either a father figure or antagonist). Usually this plot thread encompasses the entire story or several seasons before the first meeting. I love how Tanjiro runs into Muzan in only episode 7, and based on many logical facts that have already been pre-established in the story. Tanjiroโ€™s strong sense of smell, his knowledge of Muzanโ€™s scent from the cabin, etc. And the fact that heโ€™s in the most populated city in Japan, so if he is going to run into Muzan purely by chance, it makes sense it would happen here. Very good decision by the author to use a common trope, but twist it a bit to shock the audience. Even Muzan is like, โ€œWhat the heck, Iโ€™m just trying to get dinner with the fam, why is the MC here in Season 1?!โ€

i feel this sO HARD ๐Ÿ˜ญ i found DS during the anime's first season, started reading the manga to know what happened next, then caught up plot-wise (without spoiling anything) around the end of season 3 and it was TORTURE ๐Ÿ’€ i'm glad we're gonna get the start of last arc animated soon so it's only a matter of time until we can binge the whole series start to finish ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

I watched DS weekly when it first came out, but this is the episode where I couldn't wait another week and decided to pick up the manga to find out what happens next ๐Ÿ˜† I ended up catching up to the chapter releases and still had to wait another week for each chapter. It was mad agonizing, especially in the last few arcs~

Muzan is so much like Dracula it's interesting to see the parallels. It's so hard to wait a whole week for the next episodes. I'm trying not to go ahead and binge it even though I've seen the series. ๐Ÿ˜
