i know there's a reason for it and it'll be explained eventually (i am rewatching for the second time and didn't finish the show, but i forgot almost everything that i did watch so i dont remember the reason) but idk... yuki's interactions with kyo really bother me 😭 yuki seems like a kind person, but he is so unlikeable to me in all of his scenes with kyo. it feels like genuine dislike rather than just a rivalry idk lol. i know yuki wants out of the sohma's while kyo wants to be accepted by them, but even so i feel like there's such a lack of empathy for him. (ik im probably wrong, but dont correct me, i will see for myself).

I guess it’s like two sides of a coin that in this cruel world you need to be very fortunate to be able to be lazy and silly. Haha (It was just my own perception from my experience of born and raised under the Chinese zodiac culture, but I did look up and the Internet says people born in pig year are honest, optimistic, and generous. ❤️) Just like what you said wanting to be born in dragon year, many parents hope to have baby in dragon year, because dragon is the symbol of an emperor. However, the downside of being a dragon is the huge competition of getting into a good university or a good company because so many people are born in that year. lol I was born in tiger year and tiger might be the Chinese zodiac with most taboos. Traditionally, tigers are not allowed to get near to a bride because the tigers are too fierce and would bring bad luck to the marriage. So much so that some conservative parents would forbid a tiger girl to be the bridesmaid of their bride daughter. We have a saying to describe woman who is fierce and intimidating as “female tiger”. I used to hate being a tiger when I was a little girl because I can’t get close to the beautiful brides. haha But as an adult woman, I love the fierceness, the confidence, and the feline elegance of tigers and of women. It’s like what Tohru’s mom said, “just be you, and live life at your own pace”. Cheers!

In fruba, being hugged by the opposite sex basically equates to torso/chest touching so there's no stress in helping with ties or simply being around each other aside from worrying about the accidental chest touching (as our girl has demonstrated can happen quite easily lol) Also, to touch on the "erasing memories" situation, like yuki said, it's not necessarily erasing, it's like selective suppression hypnotism so no it wouldn't erase her memory of her mother. Hope this helps a little bit! A cute detail to catch is to make sure you watch the ending after any animal is introduced in an episode as sometimes you get cute little animations added! So watch eventually not just listen and you'll catch some cute details! Additionally I'm so happy that you're doing this series. Like others have echoed, thank you so much for putting it on a poll! This case is just people who can't watch a single episode of anything in dub it seems.. Watching ONE show in dub could be allowed sometimes, or so you'd think

Her name is Kyoko, not Kyoto.🤗 Also the Sohmas CAN get touched by people of the opposite sex. Yuki for example would only turn, if Tohru hugs/embraces him. Have a good day and stay healthy!😊

2025-01-09 17:02:19 +0000 UTChello! english is not my first language, so sorry for any grammar mistakes. first time commenting, but been watching you guys since your first bts video, and been a patreon since the beggining of aot! i wanted to comment this time because of how much fruits baskets means to me. i am an avid watcher of slice of life, romance, and all of the shoujo ever. but nothing has ever made me feel the way fb has. i've always related to kyo, saying things that hurt people without meaning to, or doing things without thinking them through, but watching this show has changed me as a person, to my core. tohru has become, simply put, my role model in life. the lessons this show has taught me, i can never thank the creator enough. i can't wait to see what kind of things you guys will get from it! hope you enjoy it as much as everyone else does! p.s: kyoko is the name of tohru's mother. tohru's friend, uotani, was saying that kyo's hair is orange like tohru's mom. also, im year of the dragon :)

It only happens when they are either sick, or if they are embraced by someone of the OPPOSITE sex. Embraced meaning hugged. So like Tohru could put her hand on a male zodiac's arm, and they wouldn't transform. It has to be closer to a hug
