We’ve got an important question for all you beautiful OTAKU GOLD members!
The Otaku Gold Tier has become a special space for bingeing and diving deep into incredible anime, and we’d love your input on its structure before we launch the next poll 🙏🏽
POLL QUESTION: How would you prefer the Otaku Gold slot to be structured?
OPTION #1 (Stick with the current system): Focus on one long-running show (e.g. Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, MHA, Monster, etc.), with 6 reactions per week until the series is completed.
OPTION #2: Split the slot into 2 shows, with 3 episodes from each show weekly (still totaling 6 reactions per week).
Your vote will help us decide how to best structure this tier moving forward!

I would actually feel devastated if it ended any time soon. 🥲 I would definitely skip through most of the intro, outros, and recaps (Unless I really enjoy the music) to binge it.

I really understand why people don't want the long animes but I would also hate for them to miss out on them just bc of that. My favorite is OP. I would looooove for them to watch it. 😭😭

2024-12-30 11:16:23 +0000 UTCJAY18, rest assured, J&J would never postpone FB (the anime with the highest percentage of votes they've ever had here and they even mentioned how happy they were with it) and DS (an anime with over 460 votes and which they've already mentioned in some of their reactions and said that they themselves want to watch it) they would "never" do that to us who voted so much! 2024-12-30 09:34:17 +0000 UTCthis poll is to do with potential schedule changes to do with gold tier but the gold tier being reserved for a long show 6x a week is the best option over all, even though I voted for 2, delaying makes for a better schedule going forward, if they postpone and watch a 24ep then following that do fruba/ds, a new show will start around every 3 months for the next 9-12 months over 2 shows every 6 months, this gives viewers the chance to have something they enjoy and sub for, more frequently. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense :)

2024-12-30 07:27:19 +0000 UTCI think if demon slayer and fruits basket or any 2 shows that are 50+ eps are in the Monday/Thursday slots together, 2 is definitely better. If you do 1 show and something 150+ eps wins, the next main slot will open up again around summer, so if people aren’t into either of those 3 or get bored, they rely on the highest tier for the least amount of content or potentially none. Polls are great for seeing what people what to see but shouldn’t be the, be all end all of what you watch. I think rather than 2 gold shows it would be better to postpone either DS or fruba and try to get it so mon/thur shows are staggered, that way people won’t potentially have to wait 6 months for a new show

Leading to more people pledging, subscribing, having more people watch more anime these two watch in the future. Either way I am in support cuz no way I'm keeping the two from watching things they might actually love just because it is long, even if I'd like them to watch shorter / better anime too.

If a shorter seriess wins, then go with 3 episodes for THAT series, while 2nd place in the poll gets the other 3 wheter it is a long series or a short one! So let say 1st place FMAB and 2nd place Naruto gets picked, they will do 3 and 3 but in 5 months when FMAB is finished, they put all 6 into Naruto.!

Also J&J have been known to get confused when watching several anime at the same time so for their sanity and ours I don't think it's viable.

2024-12-29 22:08:46 +0000 UTCOne Piece at 6 a week take 3 1/4 years, it fits in so they would catch up before the end run. Naruto at 6 a week would take a year and a half. While Bleach at 6 a week will take, 10 Months. FMAB will only take 11 weeks on 6 a week, while it will take 5 months on 3 episodes.

But I also enjoyed the one series per week pace. My engagement is most dependent on my interest in the title and the time commitment (which doesn’t really help answer your poll as we all have varied tastes and availability in our schedules). Whatever you choose, J&J, here to support you, spend time in the lovely communities you have created, and watch alongside you! Keep up the great work.

I think the epic Shonens are great for personal exploration but would be difficult to maintain viewer interest and enthusiastic reactions when the commitment, without filler, would still take a lengthy time (years).

2024-12-29 21:27:02 +0000 UTCDuring the period when AOT and Haikyu were featured, I remained uninterested in both. DeathNote, however, was the primary reason I maintained my subscription. Later, when HxH and Haikyu were showcased, my interest still lay elsewhere. JJK was the series that kept me subscribed. I worry that with only two series, there won't be a third to provide balance. If Naruto emerges victorious, it may take a year or two to conclude, but at least two other anime will be available to look forward to.

I voted for the split of two as we would be technically getting 2 anime’s with 3 reactions each which sounds like a steal for instance if it were like FMAB and MHA but if it’s like Naruto or One Piece(which I am not watching) I would rather the 6 reactions a week. Also with filtered out filler episodes cause I didn’t even sit through those on my own first watch 😅

But it is tempting to pick the two animes with three episodes per week because that means we get an extra anime to binge with them. I just need to see what the poll is looking like.

If you are doing MHA or FMAB or another series in the 50-120 episode range you can do two at a time with 3 a week and not clog up the otaku gold slot.
