Hi Brothers,
Before jumping into Season 2 I highly recommend you to check out a little wrap up for season 1.
Maybe it will help to understand a little bit more at which part of the story we are right now, without getting lost into much details / Easter eggs.
Here’s the link ( 10min watchtime)

I bet you got most of the information by your first time watching, but because there is so much going on, it might be a good preparation for season 2 :)
Best greetings from Germany and have a great start into 2025🙏

Hey there !
Long text incoming.
To add up a some details :
The history and events of League of Legends happen in Runeterra.
Here is a map in the link above. Piltover is one of the regions and a city-state as well.
It is said that after Arcane the next series will focus on Noxus, Ionia and Demacia. No details in which order, but it seems that each region may have its own show.
The lore of LoL is in constant evolution and there are some champions that are related to Piltover and Zaun that may not appear in Arcane. The series are making some changes to the lore, I would say strengthening its depth making it something interesting to non-LoL players.
So for players, there are some theories and expectations before watching the show or links that are quickly created when something is shown on screen.
There are many species in Runeterra which include the Yordle for example. Those are spirits, magical beings who take appearance of mammalian biped. So they may not exaclty all look-alike except that they all are small little creatures.
Guess what ! Heimerdinger is a Yordle.
The Yordles are linked to a magical city, Bandle-city, which has no definite location as it changes.
Their origin is unkwown and it is said that their concept of aging is different since being spirits and they do not die. If it were to happen they would come back to Bandle-city. I'm no expert so I don't know if they choose their form or not and how it exactly works. And for Heimerdinger spending a decade to render a new technology totally safe, it's not the same percieved decade as we do. It doesn't appear long on the contrary to Viktor who's getting sicker and sicker.
For the appreciation of gamers, another well-known Yordle has been referenced many times.
Teemo who appeared (https://shorturl.at/JoVK5) in a book read by the creepy guy on the horse rocking chair when Silco was "playing" with the daughter of Marcus...threatening would be more suited.
He appeared as well on the game Powder played in their hideout or mutiple times with logos of mushrooms on the walls in the city which are characteristics of him.
Still for gamers, there are mutiple items that exist in the game that can be seen like in Benzo's shop for example.
There are as well some creatures like a Krug that can be seen in the following link. (https://shorturl.at/Z7bgt)
In the cage below Powder there is a creature that seems to be the mix of a bug and a rock, well that's a Krug which in the game is just a creature in a camp that you can kill so it brings you some experience in order to level up and a bit of money then you will eventually buy items so you get stronger, and so on.
I don't know if it has been said in previous comments but the game itself doesn't rely on the history nor the lore. You just come in and fight basically. They included small references in voice lines said by champions but overall you don't have any bit of history. They developped some stories aside.
I believe the majority of players don't know the backstory of most champions since it's not visible in-game. There are 169 champions to this day.
From the character you've seen, Jayce, Vi, Jinx, Heimerdinger, Ekko, Ambessa, Singed, Caitlyn and Viktor are playable champions.
There are many things that can be discussed but...after season 2.
There are so many great quotes already :
"Imprisonment. What a curious principle , we confine the physical body yet the mind is still free." Heimerdinger.
Knowing that he is a spiritual being.
"Power doesn't come to those who were born strongest, fastest or smartest. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it." Silco
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother. Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" Silco at the feet of Vander's statue now understanding the choices made by Vander to protect those who became his kids.
“It's a sad truth that those who shine brightest often burn fastest.” Heimerdinger.
There are many one-liners and most of Silco's speeches are powerful.
One last little thing, check this detailed original poster of season 1. (https://shorturl.at/T0KM3)
Once you've seen it, you can't unsee it.

This episode is what completely separated Jinx from Vi as a character to me. Vi would never kill the person she loves in order to save Jinx. Jinx, however, did exactly just that.
Also, Silco was completely in the right when him and Vi were yelling. Powder is gone, been gone. Vi making her remember her trauma by naming the people Powder killed was what triggered Jinx's mental breakdown at that moment. Silco knew that which is why he wanted Vi to shut up. Silco's final words are exactly what Jinx needed to hear imo. Silco is the only one who understood Jinx

alright so before I forget, because I'm mid watching this last episode, I noticed another great parallel in the fight at the last drop. one of Vi's gauntlets is pierced by Sevika's laser sword. now the gauntlet itself was also Vander's weapon choice. the gauntlet symbolises him, who was also stabbed by Silco.
this show is so rich in details, I love it. now I shall return to my sobbing session because man, this show is bringing up all sorts of emotions deep within me.

First time commenting!! Love your reactions especially to arcane. This show is a masterpiece. Every episode builds with its amazing characters, voice acting, and animation. Love all the characters but Silco is my favorite character. I could talk all day about this show, the parallels of themes and the power of words and decisions. Everything feels lived in and real. Side note one of my favorite quotes in arcane came from Viktor in the finale with Jayce when he said “In the pursuit of great……we failed to do good.” Thank you for the reactions! And lastly you guys should watch a commentary style video of arcane’s brilliance because I feel like there’s a lot more connections throughout the shows that even I didn’t notice till either rewatching it or even listening to others perception on arcane. Love what you guys are doing!! Keep it up!i!

I had no expectation of a second season after being satisfied with the conclusion of season 1, so the release of season 2 was unexpected.

The little man's quote bears a striking resemblance to Meghan Markle's remarks to Tom Bradby published in Vogue Australia, "It's not enough to just survive something. That's not the point of life. You have got to thrive. You have got to feel happy".

Jayce just assumed Silco would give up Jinx to get his dream of Zaun. Which is actually fairly logical since he doesn’t know of any connection between Jinx and Silco other than she’s just someone who works for him. He also knows Silco is ruthless enough to use children workers in his shimmer factories. Jayce was also pretty desperate for a peaceful solution, so he left their meeting thinking he had succeeded.

I'm a little confused, didn't Jayce say he'd only give the underground independence if Silco gave up Jinx? Then it showed Jayce giving them independence so was Silco lying when he told Jinx he'd never give her up? Anyone able to clear that up for me?

Here's my personal take on it:
Arcane personifies the paradox of fortune through Powder, an unlucky girl who, in her pursuit of love and happiness, was condemned to live in a cruel world that cursed her with both confusion and knowledge.
The show portrays how much better the world could have been if the innocent were allowed to be embraced and loved, and how this denial can break a good person like Powder, who becomes Jinx as a coping mechanism to survive in such a harsh reality.
As she watches her sister, her guardian angel, abandon her, Powder gives up on everything—including her own fragility—and rebels against the sky that betrayed her. She chooses to burn it down, seeking at least some kind of warmth, as an act of vengeance to express her eternal mourning.
Jinx is the protagonist because she accepts the world as her enemy. The world challenged her, and she lost. In her loss, she now seeks to make the world suffer alongside her in a shared grief. Like an ominous crow contemplating the sunset, she mourns, fully aware of the goodness that once existed and what could have been if not for her tragic fate.

How could anyone not love Silco?
He was offered absolutely everything he and his companions ever dreamed of, the birth of a nation he envisioned, which so much was lost over, all in exchange for Jinx. But even in his dying breaths, caused by Jinx herself, he chose his loyalty and love for her over EVERYTHING.

Really strong post-episode discussion, great insights!
One of my favorite quotes is Silco’s last words to Jinx, “You’re perfect”. In all the previous episodes, he would say “Jinx is perfect.” I believe it’s incredibly important that he changed the line. He knows Powder/Jinx is in a crisis and will sit in either the Powder chair or the Jinx chair. Silco makes sure to say “You’re perfect” so that Jinx will have the peace of mind and be free to choose what she wants, and that in Silco’s eyes she’s perfect regardless of whichever choice she makes. Silco is such a great antagonist.
