When Sky died, she basically saved Viktor. Viktor wanted to do the experiment a second time on his body. He ran out of Shimmer and went for it anyway. The Hexcore almost killed him but Sky popped in and attempted to pull him away from the Hexcore, being vaporized in the process. What happened is that Sky's lifeforce was used as a sacrifice and provided enough energy/lifeforce for Viktor's hand to be transmuted. His right-hand (Sky) literally became his right hand.

But hey, that's their choice and if they are enjoying it like this, then that's good enough to me. Nobody is forced to be a genious when it comes to analysing an episode, but if that's their goal and give these episodes the necessary profoundity and attention, then they probably should pay more attention to details. Just to be clear, this isn't a negative criticism. Just a suggestion

They really should have read comments after each episode, they are so lost right now, and its not getting any easier later. Especially second season, if they are not going to understand what happened in the first one, they will be lost more then usual on the second one.

Having Diver's helmets shimmered boosted guards and children workers at the same time...the first ones imply that you have to use force, the second ones would be casualties and it would cause a major political incident, fuelling even more the crisis between topside and the lanes. Well, for Jayce, who I would guess spent all his time between forging hammers, laboratory and the council...his very first operation in the flesh ended in killing a kid. Not only the witnesses (the kids), the relatives of the deceased but as well Jayce will be left with a scar.
