first time viewer kite reincarnated as an ant reminds me of doppio from jojo! (i havent actually watched jojo yet, but i know of doppio because im a fan of his voice actor) mostly the freckles, hair color, and lips. he also reminds me of chigiri from blue lock (which i also havent watched yet 😭) because of their hair color, eye color, and hair in their faces. i wish we got more kurapika tho :(

The greatest anime. The best one. Most beautiful, exciting journey.

This is easily one of the greatest anime I've ever seen. From the characters, the dialogue, and the overall story, it's a masterpiece.

I'm a little late to the party, but I have to thank you J&J, and by extension all of your lovely patrons, for getting me to watch this series. I had always heard good things about it, but it was never on my radar enough to break down and watch it by myself. I'm so glad I got this chance, because this show is beautiful. The characters, the story arcs, the animation, all so fantastic. Also, full disclosure, I was 100% convinced that Kurapika was secretly a girl until probably around the Greed Island arc, and that there was going to be some reveal at some point about having to hide as a boy for whatever reason. I won't say I'm disappointed, because I love Kurapika and his entire backstory. I was hoping for more of a conclusion for him, maybe it continues in the manga and I'll have to check that out. It just felt like most anime have at least one female character in the main group, and I wasn't expecting an all male quartet. Either way, thanks again J&J, and everybody else here who enjoy the show. I can't wait for the next adventure!

The anime started with Gon on a small tree fishing for the King of the Sea. And I love how it also ended on a tree MUCH larger. This feels like a metaphor that is trying to show us the immense growth of Gon throughout this show, as well as our own attachment to HxH. It is amazing to see the amount of thoughts and emotions we now associate with this anime now that we've finished it..

I watched these reactions and loved every second, I instantly shut down my pc after because i realized it was the end, it's sad but life goes on and you have to just find the things that make you happy, all the moments and reactions, the daily routine of watching them, its beauty It took me 2 days to finally be able to write a comment on this because I just didn't wanna think of how its over, I love this show so much and even if people don't agree I still think it will comeback and finish one day even if the manga is far from it, and I will be there Now speaking of the manga, I promised myself years ago I wouldn't read it (I still don't know why I just didn't like the idea), now during those last two days after watching your guys's reaction I dabbled into the manga and my intention was to read one chapter to just see where things go (ended up reading like 10), and oh my lord I can't say anything without sounding like a lunatic, this show needs to keep going, the writing is so god damn good Either way I can't wait to see the next thing yall do and hope you guys loved it as much as I did <3

Gon and Killua's relationship is the best part of this show for me. It's probably my favourite friendship in any manga/anime.

My final thoughts on rewatching this amazing show with you guys: To be honest, I'm thankful that I'm part of the many people here that subscribed to your Patreon because it gave me a chance to rewatch my favorite anime with new eyes and with a more mature and deeper understanding. I've initially watched HxH (1999 version) back when I was in elementary, and it was during a time where you can't rewind or rewatch episodes since they were shown during a scheduled timeslot in everyday TV. The anime didn't even get to the Greed Island Arc back then, but years later they finally released the 2011 version, I was busy with my own personal life so I was only able to watch it again in 2016. Needless to say, I absolutely loved it but since life was hectic, I didn't fully digest each and every character's values and the life lessons the show offered, I was just happy to watch the continuation of the Anime I loved since I was a kid. Now, having been able to rewatch the whole Anime again with additional analysis and comprehensive perspectives from other patrons here really made me appreciate and understand the Anime even more. My once naive and young mind coupled with the childhood memories during my first watch (that I cherish in my heart) considers Hisoka as my favorite character of all time because I can never change what my innocent childhood heart remembers, and he's undeniably one of the most enigmatic complex characters there is to this day. But at the same time, after rewatching it with you guys, my now mature self with 33 years of life experience have amassed a new-found respect for characters like Killua, Meruem, Colt, etc. who depicted insights and characteristics that can be adapted in our own personal lives. I've realized yet again why a lot of us veteran anime lovers regard HxH as one of the GOATs. I'm truly grateful to both of you for creating this platform where we can freely share our thoughts and perspectives with each other without being called out as being too engrossed or passionate in a show for "kids" (If you know what I mean, this happens in other channels w/c is why I only subscribed to yours lol). Thank you again and please continue doing what you do, enjoy your journey to Otaku-hood, there are tons of other amazing animes coming your way. No need to rush, no pressure, and as you say....always keep an open mind, especially when you start watching the other anime genres that'll surprise or confuse you, trust the process and trust us lol 🥰

Alpha already explained what happened to Kite and how he (now, "she") has been reborn. But just to clarify one more thing regarding Colt, his story is in no way related to Kite nor the red-haired woman Koala ant shot. His whole character is all about being a very protective brother to his sister Reina who as we all know have also been reborn as an ant and have successfully reunited with their human Mother. Unfortunately, Colt hasn't regained his human memories, but he retained his sense of duty to protect. At first, he directed it towards the Queen but when she died, he refocused his protective duty towards the little fetus (Now, Kite in female form). So, we'll never know if Colt will ever be able to regain his human memories but it's pretty clear that he will be risking his life to protect the now reborn Kite, along with Koala ant.

The hxh anime is imo - conclusion to Gon’s initial goals since he achieved it by meeting his dad. The continued manga talks more about the journey of the rest of the characters. -The whole phantom troupe and Hisoka’s story still has room for exploration. -Leorio isn’t a doctor YET (he was just showcased studying for it) - Kurapika still has “business” related to the scarlet eyes that needs to be addressed. - This “Outside world” Ging talks about is a heavy talking about in the manga and is essentially the next part of the story.

Thank you both for an amazing series! I came in to HxH with not much expectation but every excited for what was to come. As a first viewer, I thought this show would end with Gon becoming a Hunter and finishing his goal. But I liked how it turned out even more. I loved how Gon made great friends along the way. And that Killua was one of them. Killua has become my favorite character this entire series. He truly is a great friend and one anyone should have by their side. I am happy to see them all accomplish their goals. I am glad that life lessons followed this journey from the ants, to the exams, to the phantom troupe. And each one taught you something different. Gon being able to talk to Ging was a beautiful moment. Gon didn't ask him why did you leave me or anything about his mom. He didn't ask why Ging doesn't want to be around. The only thing Gon cared about was to see him and talk to him. I think he even did it to get his own advice about life and to remain constant in understanding life. I fell blank to the last statement because it made me realize that it is best to let life be what it is and understand what's for the best. Thank you J&J because like you both said what matters was this journey you and us had with one another. Thank you HxH and all who worked on the project. We are truly grateful! And as a Army, borahae to you all my fellow Hunters and thank you for your comments and wisdom.

• Ging, "outside world" and the Chimera Ants: The "outside world" Ging mentions is an intriguing idea. Ging wants to explore it, and it does hint at further mysteries in the Hunter x Hunter universe, especially the concept of uncharted lands. Without spoiling too much, this "outside world" is something that comes into play later in the series. • Ging’s Lesson to Gon: The message Ging shares with Gon when uncovering the tomb, its about the joy of seeing friends happy and cherishing the bonds you form. It's about valuing the journey and relationships more than the final goal. Gon relates and really takes this to heart, especially reflecting on his time with Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika. Their friendships define his path, and this idea is a key emotional takeaway from the series. • "Enjoy the little detours": This is such a great piece of advice. It's about embracing the unexpected moments along the way, not just focusing on the end goal. The detours are often where growth happens, and Gon starts to understand that the connections he makes and the experiences along the way are what matter most.

Merry Christmas J&J, My questions for you are, which of the characters you met during HxH do you relate with the most? and which character would you like to have as a friend if they were real? Also what was the most valuable lesson that you learn from this wonderful story? And what is an unforgettable moment from the series? Happy holidays and happy New Year!!. Love from Colombia ❤️

I doubt you guys would do reactions to the manga but if you want a bit more there's a few video breakdowns going through the chapters. There's so much more to the series than just what the anime covers and it's really really really good.

Andreas Adekoya

My questions for the final video: where does this anime rank among the ones you’ve watched so far. And would you consider reacting to the manga some day (I made a long comment about some tips I had about getting into the manga a few videos ago). Here’s a cool manga trailer I recommend you guys watch: https://youtu.be/Yvh0-lpa6GE?feature=shared

Alpha

i was at ep 82 a few days ago, and i finally caught up last night, this was very fun to watch with you guys and it was nice hearing you guy’s opinions and thoughts about MY all time favorite anime. AND NOW I CANT WAIT FOR DEMON SLAYER!!!

Starlight64

There are Five Protagonist in Hunter X Hunter Their Birthdays Month/Day Gon 5/5 Killua 7/7 Kurapika 4/4 Leorio 3/3 Hisoka 6/6 (wild card/hidden protagonist) that's why his attached to Gon's story line and Kurapika connecting to the Phantom Troupe. It's so weird we didn't get to know any back story about Hisoka, imagine what kind of life he had back then before becoming a Psychopath There is a narrative outline here, that follows each arc to where and whose story and characters to tell next, but since after the Chimera Ant Arc which was Gons and Killuas arc, now we proceed to the next arc which was the Election Arc is a "prologue" before the real arc actually begins. So to answer your question the Phantom Troupe story is right after the Election Arc ended, along with Kurapika. That's why Togashi didn't hinted about the Phantom Troupe or Kurapika that much in the end of the episode, because its a new arc and story. "FINAL QUESTION PEASE RANK YOUR HXH "ARCS" FROM BEST TO WORST" These are the arcs - in order - rank them as you please, Top (best) Bottom (least) favorite! - Exam Arc - Zoldyck Arc - Heavens Arena Arc - York New Arc - Greed Island Arc - Chimera Ant Arc - Chairman Election Arc

They’re both bad and not canon. It’s a waste of time.

What a long journey.. Wayyyyy back to the earlier episodes, Gon and Killua are on Whale Island looking at the night sky, Killua expresses uncertainty on what he wants to do. Gon suggests that Killua stick with him on his journey to find his dad, and in the process, Killua will figure out and know what he wants. After finding their goals, Gon and Killua part ways, putting a brave front from each other till next time they meet.. Anyway I think Gotoh is dead. The butlers are using the Kuriko (a disguise) to impersonate Gotoh and keep Killua from finding out about his death. So Killua wont feel sad or guilty. Now that Gon found Ging. Can he please find his mother? LOL I really wanna know who is Gon real mother. But i know he wont since to him Mito is his mother..

My interpretation on Ging’s goals with Gon: We see that Ging was obviously an amazing triple star hunter, but throughout Gon’s journey one of the main things we learn about Ging is how he touched people deeply along his journey and the loyal friends he met along the way. Like Kite, Razor, Dwun, List, Satotz etc. I think Ging wanted Gon to be powerful physically of course but I think one of the other major goals was for Gon to go out and build those real life relationships like Ging had done. Ging had lived on the same Whale island like Gon did. Like Gon, he probably had very few friends his age growing up (Ging’s only friend was Mito, his younger cousin). Ging on some level knew that Gon had to go out in the world to build those loyal friendships and he also knew that Gon would love to meet him. He used that fuel that Gon had of wanting to find him to set him off on an adventure. Gon meeting Ging was the backdrop of this crazy journey of detours and difficulties but a journey that would ultimately hopefully enrich Gon in a way that it had for Ging too. In the final episode, what was Ging’s final message? That despite the goal Gon had (finding Ging) the people that he met along the journey are ultimately what was most important. This shows that Ging is kinda holding himself to account (much like he did on the tape). He wasn’t a present father. The friendships Gon found on his journey (especially his friendships with Killua, Leorio and Kurapika) are what ultimately were more important than finding him. The message he had for Gon was actually a humble and beautiful lesson that was the opposite of egotistical. It showed that while Ging encouraged Gon this journey, his actual hope for Gon didn't centre around Ging himself or for Gon becoming like him. It centered around Gon leaving the island like Ging did at his age and actually...enriching himself. Getting new experiences, getting more powerful, and most importantly gaining valuable friendships and learning how to be a good friend. Ging knew better than anyone what the environment of Whale Island was like. It's a safe comfortable place to live...but the world is large and there's so many great people to meet and places to explore and that's ultimately what Ging wanted for Gon. The journey towards Ging was backdrop for what was really the most important as Ging says. "You should enjoy the little detours to the fullest. Because that's where you will find things more important than what you want." -Ging Freecs

lol, I don’t care enough. I was actually just shocked haha.

Alpha

so you know how it feels like? We should start our Villain Arc then! 😈

Well that’s sad that people are plagiarizing stuff. I actually had that happen to me recently. I made an analytical comment about HxH on Reddit, and someone copy and pasted that as a discussion response on another HxH YouTube podcast and had that comment featured. This happened during the new batch of chapters and all the analysis and theories that were happening. The podcast host was shocked when I showed them that the comment they featured was my comment and it copy pasted from an entirely different site lol.

Alpha

they know who they are' im blunt when they comment here ill surely tell them face to face

Who does that?

To explain the Kite situation: Kite has an ability that is activated when he really doesn’t want to die. It’s one of the slot options and that number appeared when he faced Pitou. He was killed against Pitou and his soul was transferred to presumably the nearest unborn fetus through this slot ability. This unborn fetus happened to be in the Chimera Ant queen. This unborn fetus came about through the queen eating the red haired girl shot by the Koala. The Koala’s dialogue confirmed the long running narrative in the Chimera Ant arc of rebirth, the concept of the human soul living on even after death (that was basically the main underlying point of his entire monologue). His hope was that the red haired girl he had killed would not be reborn in a Chimera Ant body and that instead, that soul had escaped (moved on to the after life).
It seems that has been the case. My theory is that Kite’s soul replaced the soul of the red haired girl allowing her soul to move on to the next world. Kite is now reborn in the body of the red haired girl now with added Chimera Ant features. You may recall that this girl has a tail, and presumably other Chimera Ant qualities including a naturally significantly stronger body, the very quick development time etc. The girl went from a fetus to about 12 years old in less than a year. Another theory I have is that this new Kite is probably slightly if not very different from old Kite. Chimera Ants like Mel, Ikalgo, Palm, Welfin, and so on may have retained their old memories and personalities, but their self perspective is very dependant on their new bodies as well. For example, Welfin sneaking around and sniffing life a wolf does. I presume the new Kite has some animalistic qualities from whatever other animals she’s made of. I would also assume the very basic fact that they’re a female now and that will also change their perspective and personality as well. The author also mentioned in a memo that this new Kite will have to learn nen again and in my opinion will probably have a very different ability.

Alpha

I want to explain about the Koala in depth summary of life, death, and reincarnation but people here likely seems to copy/paste and paraphrase words from other people. I hate it when people plagiarize, no sense of originality.

No problem guys 😇
