I cannot wait for their reaction to it (even if it did beat out FMAB lol but all in do time). Demon Slayer let's goooo!!!!

And it feels like every reactor should watch DS at some point. 🤔 I’ve always felt that J&J would resonate with Tanjiro for how J&J empathize the world. It’s like J&J and Tanjiro are triplets, and Tanjiro was adopted in Japan and in a different time. It’s good for the triplets to meet each other. lol

They don't understand or take into consideration that J&J are new to the Anime community. People were saying the same things when J&J started JJK. People tend to forget that they are newbies here. Flashy stuff with good animations are great to start with before going into the more 'bland' ones. My elder brother talked trash about MHA and DS so much and told me not to watch them when I'm just starting to get into anime. But I still went ahead and watched them and absolutely enjoyed them. The funny part is that when he was new to anime, he watched MHA and enjoyed it. I remember that he dropped Haikyuu after the first season, whereas it's my 2nd favourite anime so far. He dropped HxH after the first episode whereas I finished the whole thing and enjoyed it. SO, NOT EVERYONE HAS TO LIKE THE SAME THINGS YOU DO. Let them have a beautiful journey of Anime and don't try to force your opinions on them.

It's only been a year or so and I had to take a long break because of board exams in the middle. My first animes were AOT, DN, HxH etc. People hate on DS so much that I was against watching it. But then I watched MHA and enjoyed it. Then I realised that recent animes weren't half bad and watched them too.

Let them enjoy the more digestible recent ones with up-to-date animations first before going into longer, older, and ones that have more complicated plots. I remember when JJK won the poll last time, I saw similar comments saying that it wasn't a great anime, and look what happened? everyone enjoyed and J&J obviously fell inlove with it too. You dont have to hate on another anime just because it doesnt fit your preference, just dont watch it. Its that simple

Armin did not mirror himself with Erwin at all. Armin did not have a purpose and a goal like Erwin. Armin was clueless and did not know how to solve the incoming doom that awaited the eldians, similarly to everyone else (Like when he snapped at Mikasa right before going to Ragako to stop Connie from killing Falco). He was not the person you are trying to paint him as and even he knew that. He was intelligent and knew how to think outside the box but he was no Erwin.

I'm more intrigued by the storytelling and plot points in AoT but I care little for the characters themselves. The characters in Aot did not feel real to me, even though the story is based in a reality similar to our own. Mikasa has been the same type of character the entire show, so I'm not sure what you mean by massive development. The only thing that really changed about her was that she was more willing to detach herself from Eren by the end. Armin by the end, still had the same problem in S1 he lacked confidence in his ability to make decisions. (He literally snapped at Mikasa before going to Connie and Falco in Ragako Village). That's fine that you put Aot over DS, I do too. Aot was great, but it was not perfect.

2024-12-16 22:08:45 +0000 UTCNot really going to go back and forth about it but I mean Mikasa has episodes dedicated to her youth (Mother and father death, realising the cruelty of her world) and historical roots (Ackerman and Azumabito) so again I disagree, Armin has had a hero’s journey himself from lacking confidence to being the leader mirroring Erwin he is at the end. I do not see that level of storytelling in DS…at all, but I will respect that many like it!

I do like DS, I've caught up recently and really enjoyed season 4, but no way you missed out on the massive character development of Armin and Mikasa and call it lacking. That's actually one of the main things I love about AOT is its character depth. Demon Slayer does have some depth here and there, but its highly inconsistent, bouncing between flashy fight scenes and shallow main characters. The Hashira are literally my favorite part of DS, which is a lil sad. Like I said, I like DS, but its just "fun" to me with not a lot to really think about in depth, at least not until season 4. It is what it is tho, we'll watch their reactions nonetheless

2024-12-16 20:42:45 +0000 UTCI would argue that AOT lacks in character development because what is intriguing about Armin or Mikasa other than one is the smart one and the other is strong? I would even argue characters like Jean are far more interesting given his struggles with Marco and how that affected him throughout the story. Id say a lot of the backstories in DS do such a great job of defining who the characters are fundamentally. With Zenitsu, yes hes a coward, but hes also brave when defending others. (Like with the little girl in S2) Inosuke is a strange case because yes he grew up in the mountains and is very uneducated, but why is that the case? How did he get that way? We don't know... yet. This is just a small example of why DS is more than what people think. It's really the little breadcrumbs that aren't exactly spoon fed to us in DS that make it so interesting, especially when it comes to the characters, but yes. Story wise its straightforward, but it's so much more if you pay attention.

Personally, I just find it, not the best show to react to for the time being. Since Demon Slayers last arc is dropping in 2025. And if that is the later half of 2025(Sept-dec), I find it stupid to interrupt the new show(after DS), to watch the last arc. Better do a short series or two before, and then get into Demon slayer with all the material being released! Either way I will watch, just don't think now is the right timing!

I myself love seeing opinions, that way I discover new things (in this context, I talk about new anime or even to exchange ideas about them). I even started watching Arcane due to several comments. But, when some people give their opinion, they prefer to give their opinion by diminishing someone else's taste (I could witness this in this poll). I value respect, but not everyone does the same.

I like deep shows but Mob is a show about a middle schooler and his coming of age trouble, that's all and it does a very good job of showing how he deals with it until the end of the show.

For that alone it's a notch above DS, but sadly MHA also has pacing and animation issues with a 7+ season run time, so I'm glad it's not on this list.

2024-12-16 18:19:48 +0000 UTCI respect your opinion I just disagree, I've felt Demon Slayer lack depth mid way through S2 before even knowing how others felt. I felt no attachment to MAIN guys like Zenitsu or Inosuke by the end of S2 going into 3 which is crazy. All I thought of them was they were strong, Zenitsu is cowardly and was taught one move to the max, Inosuke was raised in the wilderness and acts wild...that's pretty much it. If I knew that little about characters like Armin or Mikasa going into S3 it'd be insane. That's only 1 small reason I find the show weak, the plot, Hashira, and demons are a whole other story. Good vs Evil with no depth or intrigue, but I guess that's your point about it being simple.

It's not all animation, but since thats what the majority say, most people will follow and day the same thing. It's kinda sad. Like just because its simplistic doesn't mean it's bad. Plus the characters are interesting and easy to get attached to~ I love my AOTs and Vinland Sagas, but that stuff can get heavy if I watch it all the time. It's nice to have something simple but good like DS.
