2025-01-29 06:50:22 +0000 UTCI respect your opinion and indeed Ging has a brilliant mind when it comes to certain situations that atleast can be done through his masterful skill in deductions. But I don't believe he's so brilliant that "knew" everything, specially the events that took place during the Chimera Ant Arc. If he did, then that means he "knew" that his trusted apprentice Kite would die horribly, causing his Son to experience unimaginable grief leading him on the verge of death...and yet he just stood by? plus, if he knew Gon wont die because Killua was going to be there to save Gon, does that mean he also knew about the needle Illumi planted in Killua's brain too? there are just too many plot holes if we believe that he knows Gon will survive anything because of the friends that surrounds him. We are just always fed the information that he's a very well known hunter, both loved and hated by other hunters...but thats it, and his occasional cryptic words saying that he knows his son won't die. Where's the facts, back stories, some seblance of proof to back this up? I agree that he orchestrated everything up to the Greed Island Arc, but Chimera Ant too? that would be a problem and he would be the worse character of all if thats the case. If he orchestrated things even during the Chimera Ant arc wthout helping then that would mean he sacrificed innocent human lives, hunters, and Netero's all for what? to make Gon stronger? to let Gon find him on his own?...thats super far fetched. So my overall understanding of Ging's character is that based on what the anime and manga have shown so far, he's a well-respected, smart and very strong hunter....but, he's not a father who has a deep love and care for his son, he respects Gon's grit, resilience and effort but nothing more. Viewers dont see this because he masks it behind empty words of belief that Gon will survive, that he's strong because Gon is his son...thats it. Again, this is just my opinion and feelings...we agree to disagree 😊

2024-12-16 23:29:20 +0000 UTCI disagree. Ging is depicted as someone with very good deductive skills. You can’t deny the way he’s written. He knew Gon would want to be a hunter. He knew Gon would get to Greed Island. He knew Gon would win Greed Island. He knew Gon, hopefully by that point would have friends and gave an option to go to Kite. It was all orchestrated. We literally just saw Ging orchestrate a rigged vote 2 days before it even occurred. He knows how to read situations. That’s just a straight up fact and denying that goes against how he’s actually written. And yes, he knows Gon won’t die. We just have to accept that as viewers.

2024-12-16 10:23:50 +0000 UTCI don't know about you guys, but I really don't have any semblance of respect or appreciation for Ging 😅 No matter how powerful he is, no one will be able to convince me that Ging has some kind of fortune telling ability that he 100% knows what will happen in the future, specially about his own Son. Gon has had multiple brushes with death, without his friends he would've died long back. I don't believe Ging has that super grand overall scheme of planning all of these things to make Gon strong or whatever, because if he did then that means he has sacrificed millions of innocent lives for it, isn't it? You can't tell me that even the events that happened with the chimera ants were all part of his plan, that wouldn't make sense, taking into consideration as well the death of Kite (Ging's very own apprentice) 🤷🏻♀️ I just think he's a sad excuse of a father that really doesn't care about Gon, not unless he knows something about Gon that has not been revealed yet (i.e. he can't die or he's immortal lol). He's just avoiding Gon because either he's ashamed that he abandoned him to pursue his personal desires, or he just doesn't want the awkwardness of it all and wouldn't want the responsibility of being his guardian if Gon decides to follow him on his excursions. P.S. I don't think it's out of respect for Gon that Ging hasn't visited him, your son is dying as we speak. What's the point of all this if he's just going to die, Ging doesn't know about Alluka so all his talk about "Gon is not going to die" is wishful thinking on his part. For him, If Gon lives then he would be right about his predictions, if he dies, well then, he'll just say Gon wasn't strong enough.

He’s already confidently told Pariston that Gon won’t die. Second, he won’t visit Gon partly out of respect. He knows his son NEVER wants the easy way out. Gon has had multiple opportunities to take the easy way out but instead, he’s always chosen the longer more difficult path. This is Ging respecting that.

Ging knows how hard it must've been for Gon to find him, yet he understands how Gon would feel if all of his efforts were suddenly worthless. Ging knows how devastating it would be to search for your life goal, risking everything you have, going through hell and beyond, and then achieving it out of pity. Gon's entire life goal since he started dreaming of becoming a Hunter was to FIND his dad and not let his dad randomly show up once Gon sacrificed everything he had.
