How can you not love an MC whose bff is a devil doggo with whom he snuggles and shares his last slices of bread? I loved Denji from the get go. Ep. 1 highlights his empathetic nature and made me want to protect him at all costs. For a protagonist, Denji’s goals contrast with your typical shonen protagonist. He’s a super simple guy. Shelter, food, and a hookup LOL. I appreciated the creative writing and that drew me in. Music, animation style, and the cast of characters kept me interested too. Yay, intro to a raunchy, degenerate anime lol.😁

2024-12-21 03:57:24 +0000 UTCNgl, I kinda cackled when I saw Chainsaw Man won the poll (one vote was from me lol). This anime definitely delves into a darker or more degenerate side. Definitely more “gore”/violence than what I’ve seen yall react to (maybe not Solo Leveling). Normally, I wouldn’t have gotten into a show like this but my little brother begged me to get into it. I spent like 2 months trying to get through the first 3 episodes. I gave up and read the first “part” of the manga. I proceeded to drop the manga and withhold baked goods from my little brother for a couple of months. I did end up watching like 8 of the 12 episodes last year-ish. Funny enough I actually picked up the manga up last week bc seeing the anime in the polls reminded me of a fanfic I saved a while ago, THEN I caved and read the like 80 chapters I was behind over the weekend. Lil bro laughed at me when I told him. He doesn’t get any cookies now. Definitely watch the end credits each episode. They’re different each time and the song changes. I saved like 3 of them bc they were just too good, they’re obviously all great those three just stuck out the most to me. But the opener is just such a BANGER. Give me a strong bass and I’m folding like a lawn chair any day of the week. I had that blasting for like a full year while driving around or in my earbuds while painting. My family was SICK of me lolol, and I’d do it again. I hope yall end up liking this anime as much as I do.

I mean months later we are closing in on the double digits of animes reacted too, and I'm still locked in! Its been a blast guys! Seems the polls feel your ready for (in my opinion) your first truly degenerate anime. I feel like this is a show your relative walks in on at just the wrong time and is just completely shocked by what is on the screen. That example is why the shock, and "R rated" feel make this a tough recommendation for an unseasoned watcher of anime. It understandably can turn some away. From my perspective the polls show that you have earned your stripes and can enjoy the ride with this one. At the same time this show can cut deep, show some mind blowing animation, follow up with a great story, an interesting power system, and both loveable and relatable characters. Just some quick conversions from last episode for you: Denjis' Total (Inherited) Debt - 380,040,120 Yen or 247,242.27 USD (recently cut down to 0.00$) Eye - 300,000 Yen or 1951.29 USD Kidney - 1,200,000 Yen or 7805.16 USD Nut - 100,000 Yen or 650.43 ....U...S...D? I'd agree, can't get much worse of a start in life than Denji. Please get this man some JAM!

It took a bit for the intro song to grow on me, but now it's one of my favorites. (KICK BACK by Kenshi Yonezu) And! Please watch the rest of the outtros because each one is different and has it's own personality and style. This show is another one that has an OST I really enjoy.

It is definitely very popular and it has its moments, but I’ve never done a rewatch besides watching reactors I was willing to sit through it for. Fun fact 1- is part of the dark trio along with JJK and Hell’s Paradise, but is the only one still ongoing now that JJK ended (manga) Fun fact 2- MAPPA animates all three Fun fact 3- every episode has a new ending animation/song, a testament to how much MAPPA loves this series, putting so much effort into it
