2024-12-30 15:42:48 +0000 UTCThis was my fifth time watching the movie, and my fifth time crying. I thought this movie was amazing. I'm almost glad they did a movie instead of a season - it really captures the speed and intensity of a real match. Speaking of which, I saw it in cinemas in Japan and everyone brought their own light sticks and cheering equipment, it really felt like watching an a tual match! I am so excited for the next movie. It's been confirmed already, but I'm not sure when it'll come out. I'm nervous about the timing cos a lot happens in the next match, but I'm also incredibly excited cos the next match has some of the craziest moments in the whole series. Hope to see you guys watch it eventually!

I read the manga before the movie came out and when I heard they were ending with two movies it was absolutely devastating. This match deserved its own season alone. I can kinda understand stand why they wanted to make it into a movie because it did really well in Japan. But we were robbed of a very good arc, I would’ve thought that because of the amount of build-up we had from the past 4 seasons and all the hype about THE MATCH. The match of matches. I thought we were going to get everything Furudate made for this build-up. We were robbed of the origins of this rivalry, amazing rallies, more about the players from both teams, and MUCH MORE!!! I can write a whole essay about it. When I left the movie theater, I was a bit disappointed in the fact that they left out so much. But after watching the movie 5 times including this time with you guys. I’ve really come to enjoy it and appreciate the fact that the smooth transitions and movements in the animation were amazing (to put it in perspective. All these frames are being drawn, so they’re drawing in between 24-60 frames per second). The sound effects were als very well done, like the hard BOOM sounds from the strong players that were receiving, spiking, and serving. The sound people did a great job, not sure you noticed but they intentionally made Asahi, Kuroo, Tora, Kageyama and all the strong players sound very loud but when Hinata was hitting the ball it wasn't as loud. It’s small details like that, that make me really appreciate this movie. There are so many more little details from this movie that I enjoyed but I’ll cut it short here. I 100% recommend reading the manga and enjoying the illustrations and side stories that were left out. The movie did the anime justice but not so much the manga. All in all great reaction J & J!!! Imma miss these reaction videos!!

2024-12-14 01:34:42 +0000 UTCthe animation in this movie was really next level compared to everything we have seen before in the series. a big factor is how they dont cut as much. the series was often pretty much just putting together the images of the manga into moving form (which is understandable when you have to animate 8 hours in a season compared to 1 and a half in a movie). but here we have a wider view of the rally and see receive, set and spike all without any cuts which results in a much faster paced and more realistic viewing experience. another big thing enhancing the realism was the sound design. i watched it in theaters and you could really feel the impact of the ball especially with blocks and digs. As a volleyball player myself, this gave a very realistic representation of what it feels like to play the game. and as a player id like to share my starting 7 for an allstar haikyuu team. to make it more interesting, i am including only one player for every team, because id put half of karasuno in otherwise. my goal is to have the strongest possible team that could actually play like this together in a real match setter: atsumu from inarizaki, 2nd year kageyama is probably the best setter in the show but i want to pick someone else for karasuno, so i am going with the only one who comes close to him middle 1: hinata from karasuno, 1st year i just had to include hinata, objectively probably not the best choice but he just spices up this already crazy offense. with atsumu as setter he is still the same threat as with kageyama wing spiker 1: bokuto from fukorodani, 3rd year one of the best hitters in the nation, no brainer (besides his mood swings but the team is good enough on its own when he's down and he is simply too valuable when he is on his game) opposite: ushiwaka from shiratorizawa, 3rd year an absolute cannon but also defensively sound, silent leadership middle 2: kuroo from nekoma, 3rd year probably the all around best player we have seen play middle blocker. i picked him to be more solid defensively as well would be my choice to captain this team. (probably the best leader in the show together with daichi) wing spiker 2: iwaizumi from aoba johsai, 3rd year kind of underrated. ace and important leader of his team. i first thought about hoshiumi but we haven't see him in an actual match yet so i felt this was more natural libero: komori from itachiyama, 2nd year okay i am gonna ignore the fact we only saw like 2 or 3 rallys of him in training, there is just not really anyone else. neither yaku or nishinoya are available as i already picked someone from their teams. same goes for the liberos of some other teams. any team that had a really good libero already has a representative on this team, so going for the all japan youth option is probably not the worst idea. to conclude this team is just bananas and has the potential to absolutely steam role anyone. the biggest problem could be that the team has strong characters, maybe too strong. i could see bokuto and ushiwaka kind of clashing. bokuto takes a lot of pride in being the ace but he wouldnt be the best on the team with ushijima, how will that go? maybe atsumu is a bit too playful for this team. in theory he would have a field day with this kind of offense but maybe hed try too much to stand out with crazy plays which could hurt the team more than it helps. but again on paper these 7 together are just ridiculously good, id love to see them play together thank you j and j for all of the haikyuu thursdays, lets move on to the next adventure! :)

2024-12-13 00:26:03 +0000 UTCI’m so happy you guys enjoyed it!! It definitely is a comfort show. I always go back to rewatch some of my favorite episodes and the movie now too. Watching through Kenma’s POV in theaters was insane! I felt like my heart was racing and my breathing was getting faster because of how loud his was lol …it was an outwardly experience 🤯 I was definitely among the ones who got emotional watching them interact with each other after the game. I loved that they showed how deep their bond ran - the love and respect that was built throughout this whole series, even with both teams’ coaches. Everything in this movie was just top-tier. Thank you for the amazing reactions Jared & Jordan! I hope a new season or movie comes out so we can all watch it together! I read the manga and there’s still more greatness to come! The whole movie was beautifully animated but that scene is just jaw dropping. Growing up I never thought an anime could look like this, if you've played sports you immediately recognize how crazy that POV is.
