So you were correct about them having the same name. Good catch ! It's so funny how Todo had the best black flash of the series while also being the most useless one because he can't hurt Mahito's soul. Man really went through his magical idol transformation just to deal 0 damage lmao. That doesn't matter, Yuji needed him and he delivered with that speech about carrying the deaths of their comrades, reminded me of Erwin's incredible speech.

Editing my comment to say that Todo was never joking in anything he has ever said, and that's why it's so hilarious! I personally thought he was always a genius because he was so sure of who he is, mixed with his overwhelming strength, that ppl just had to respect it. He's my fav character!! Anyways, Hi! I'm usually a silent watcher, but these two episodes are my absolute favorite! and it's my first time seeing them in blu-ray so its truly an entirely different experience.

I know you’ve heard this a lot by now, but this is my first time joining a Patreon. The amount of thought and dialogue you both put into shows like AoT and Death Note are incredible. It really reignites my love for these masterpieces after re-watching them through the fresh eyes of you both. I love the pausing and rewinding to better understand it, the discussions afterwards. All shows you guys care. Just got done binge watching you both react to season 2 of this series and your reactions made the wait well worth it. Can’t wait for season 3 next year! I know the power system is complicated to understand, but you’re doing very well (with some help from the comments lol). Anyways that’s enough of my yapping. Doesn't mean i liked seeing him get his ass rightfully beat, but there's no denying his crimes and cruelty. He's still my goat, tho! On another note, what Todo said when he was trying to reinvigorate Yuuji's fighting spirit, it was something like "what have [Kugisaki and Namami] entrusted you with?" and it reminded me of Erwin Smith's iconic speech about how his fallen comarades' lives were not meaningless and that they died entrusting the living to find meaning in their lives and in their sacrifices. Same with Todo saying clapping is an acclamation of the soul, very reminiscent of Netero when he is fighting Meruem.

2024-12-03 07:33:30 +0000 UTCMahito is a good villain because he is hated for his actions. At the same time, he's kind of funny - he's still a child, so to speak. But I have to say, compared to other villains, he's not really an S-Tier character. There are definitely better ones. Mahito is a bit like Freezer. Both of them are just really bad but don't have as much depth as other characters. I'd like to see you guys check out “Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - Memorial Edition”. It's not a perfect realization of the manga, unfortunately it's only one arc and some things were left out but it's only 13 episodes. Maybe you want to find out more afterwards and get the manga and witness the best villain and main protagonist. <3 But for now I'm looking forward to the finale next week, keep up the good work.

They hated Yuji's character, even tho I related to him on such a profound level. I stopped talking to that friend from then on. Lost a friend over JJK season 2 trauma :( :(

2024-12-03 03:09:57 +0000 UTCi’m glad yall appreciated the compliment!! yeah young geto rebelled and yuji became a cog in the machine. his purpose now is to kill as many curses as possible to make up for the lives lost. he’s taking on too much responsibility imo. lol i love todo, he’s so extra with everything he does. he really was the light yuji needed in that moment. and yess!!! the mahito hate is real he’s one of the few anime characters i have genuine anger towards. it checks out tho because he’s a curse born of human hate, so maybe it’s just natural we dislike him so much

2024-12-03 00:06:10 +0000 UTCHey J & J, this is my first comment here and I'm so glad you're almost finished with season 2. Todo and Yuji are literally my favorite team-up ever, their chemistry is insane. At the end where Todo claps his hands (well the place where his hand used to be) he tricks Mahito into thinking that he swapped places with something, but as Todo says afterwards "My boogie woogie is already dead" showing us that he unfortunately cannot use his cursed technique anymore and making Mahito swing randomly allowing Yuji to land that sick last black flash. Lastly, i'm sure you picked up on it already but the symbolism in the scene where they're in the snowy forest was amazing. Mahito being compared to a rabbit and Yuji a wolf goes to show how scared Mahito was of this demon Yuji has become (also the scar on his cheek where you can see his teeth is awesome looking, makes him look like Sukuna a little more.) That's all I gotta say, keep up these amazing reactions, can't wait for the last couple episodes, you guys are gonna be amazed!

That whole thing was just stab after stab to the heart, and now they gave us a little bandaid to the pain (Nobara might survive. Maybe.) and a helping hand from Todo. I hated him initially, he seemed to be just another of ‘those’ anime characters, the girl obsessed ones that always seemed to pop up. I’ve never been to glad to be proven wrong, Todo’s amazing. It takes a special sort of person to look at someone who got hurt so badly, who’s in so much pain, and to drag them right back up again.

2024-12-02 20:19:19 +0000 UTCim pretty sure the scene in the snow isnt a vision of a specific character, its more of a representation of the situation yuji and mahito were in, as you guys noticed, the wolf represents yuji as a predator, and the bunnies running away from the wolf was mahito as the prey, thats why when the bunny broke his leg they show that mahito had broken his leg. the show did such a good job with really making you feel that tension between the two and yeah, yuji shouldn't have been playing with his food cuz now fake geto showed up🤷

2024-12-02 19:58:08 +0000 UTCItadori’s breakdown after Nobara’s death makes me tear up every time. His voice actor did such a phenomenal job capturing the raw emotion of that scene. But I also have to give a shoutout to Mahito’s voice actor. The way he gets under viewers’ skin and evokes such strong anger and real emotions is largely due to the brilliance of the voice acting, in my opinion. I know Mahito stans aren’t well received in the JJK community, but as a stan myself, let me explain. In my defense, he’s an incredibly well-written villain who embodies exactly what a curse manifesting human hatred should. He’s also so entertaining—you can’t deny that. One moment, he’s delivering the most insightful dialogue with another character, and the next, he’s a running head with tiny legs and arms. When people say they’re Mahito fans, I don’t think it means they condone all the murders he committed. Quite the opposite, actually. The fact that a fictional villain can make us feel such intense, real anger is a testament to how amazingly written he is.

When I first experienced Mahito groveling and screaming, I also experienced a similar type of guilty satisfaction that Jared described. For the most part, i think we humans like to think we are better than our emotions and better than the evil that exists in the world. I think Mahito represents the true and deep evil that humanity can be capable of. When he finally is on death’s door he somehow manages to pull some of the “evil” out of us viewers, and out of Yuji to an extent. His character has caused so much pain for Yuji and for us, making us yearn to see him weak, pathetic, and near-death. I think that this is why Yuji takes his time, where as a more level-headed mind might say “okay, time to end this quick before anything worse can happen.” I don’t blame Yuji at all for this, and I think this is a testament to the story-telling of Gege Akutami. Even though JJK is non-stop action, he manages to weave so many different themes into just one fight. Anyway, thank you for a wonderful and honest reaction! Keep in mind I believe he's only one years old, already has a domain, has performed a 0.2 second domain expansion(after seeing somebody else do it once), and has experienced hitting a black flash which is incredibly rare. It's insane to think how much potential Mahito has, to the point where he could someday rival Sukuna and Gojo(in theory, those two are monsters). And I think it's fitting that in the end, he's shown crawling and sobbing like the child he is, not willing to accept the thing he has been giving to others plentifully since his birth, death.
