It’s about time for us to dive into some brand new anime series!!
With JJK, Haikyuu and HxH wrapping up in the next couple of weeks (and Kaiju No. 8 already finished), we’re looking for FOUR new series to fill these slots!
Please share ALL of your recommendations in the comments below! ⬇️
Here’s our tentative weekly schedule:
Monday Slot (JJK replacement): 2 reactions per week
Otaku Gold Slot (HxH replacement): 6 reactions per week
Thursday Slot: (Haikyuu replacement): 2 reactions per week
Sunday VIP Slot (Kaiju No. 8 replacement): 1-2 reactions per week
NOTE: Please specify in your comments which series you think fits best in each slot! Once we’ve gathered all your suggestions, we’ll sort through them and post polls here on Patreon for everyone to vote!

Regardless, I estimate that Demon Slayer will win the Otaku Gold, or whatever tier it competes in, based on how often it was mentioned in this comment section using Ctrl+F. I get it, they are your favorite and u are willing to pay... but think as well of the creators and the commitment u are asking them to have...

If you skip the fillers, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden together would have a total of 426 episodes. Watching 426 episodes would keep otaku gold tied up for nearly a year and a half, which is long but more digestible than the over 3.5-year commitment required for One Piece w/o the filler eps (98). It seems like these two dudes are in it for the long haul, but future plans are uncertain. They should consider this for everyone's benefit. Imagine following their reactions to One Piece only for them to announce one day, "Sorry, chat, one of us finished studying and the other got married and is expecting a child; no more reactions." I'm not saying they shouldn't watch it, if it wins the poll and they're okay with the commitment then so be it.

2024-12-03 12:51:56 +0000 UTCmonday slot - frieren: beyond journey's end as after JJK and a lot of other intense and action packed anime this will be nice change of pace as it is a more character and story driven show rather than relying on action thursday slot - Vinland saga, it is my all time favorite anime I like it even more than series like AOT and season 2 is one of the best piece of fiction to ever exist imo undoubtedly a masterpiece sunday VIP slot - nichijou, it could be a very different experience as your first comedy anime. It is more of an absurdist comedy type so I am not sure how many people will actually enjoy it but it definitely is an interesting one otaku gold slot - monster should be good as it is long but not too long having 74 episode it is similar to death note except that it is better imo and has arguably the best villain in anime history steins gate is also a great one which you could do if you like sci-fi but it can get pretty complicated Made in Abyss is also a great anime but I am not sure if you are ready for that

2024-12-03 04:34:21 +0000 UTCAs a long time fan of you guys I would say Naruto is the best one to get going after HxH, it's not as long of a task as One Piece and a lot of subsequent animes take inspiration from Naruto. It's also for sure one of the Goats! Outside of Naruto for Otaku Gold, I'd say FMAB, Demon Slayer, Dan Da Dan (for Kaiju replacement) or maybe even Chainsaw Man. Love you guys!

It is a very beautiful and deep anime that introduces you to a whole new genre filled with action, deep emotions, a unique perception of time, adventure, and more. It has one season with 24 episodes. The animation is stunning, the story is uniquely crafted, and the characters are incredibly human.

2024-12-01 17:15:55 +0000 UTCOne piece, Demon slayer, black clover, and chainsaw man are my favorites that you haven’t reacted to yet as for which ones for each slot, it depends if you want to go through one piece fast or slow, as it has a lot of episodes. Probably fast would be the best, and so otaku gold tier. For the others, I would do black clover and demon slayer as Mondays and Thursdays Finally I would do chainsaw man for Sunday VIP slot, since it doesn’t have as many episodes as my other recommendations. But overall I would definitely love to see at least demon slayer and black clover, followed by one piece. Chainsaw man is okay, but it doesn’t have a lot of episodes yet

I would throw Black Lagoon in there as well but the three above are more likely to win in a poll. Sunday VIP slot: - Cyberpunk Edgerunners (10 Episodes) or Chainsaw man (12 episodes). Both very short and good. Saga of tanya the evil is a fun show too (although most people have never heard of it so unlikely it will be picked)

Thursday slot (Haikyuu replacement): - For sports, I'd like to recommend The First Slam Dunk but since it's a movie, probably has a different slot haha. I don't like the anime series for Slam Dunk, only manga and the latest movie, so yeah. - Run with the Wind is also a great sports series, easy to follow. - Other than sports, I would recommend music club anime, like Hibike Euphonium, brass band club anime. - K-On!, a band anime. - Bocchi the Rock, a band anime too. Sunday VIP slot: - The Apothecary Diaries. I like this anime because of the mystery and reference to old Chinese culture. New anime but season 2 is coming soon, so it's a good time to start it. Other than the above, I'd like to recommend Banana Fish, Summertime Rendering, Kimi ni Todoke, Natsume Yujinchou, Monster, Higurashi. I like a lot of genres in drama/slice of life/mystery/horror, so its hard to find a good slot for these anime 😅

Thursday Slot - Mob Psycho or Vinland saga - Amazing stories, not too lengthy, both have season/s on the top anime first page (top 50 of all time ratings) on MAL, both have been anime of the year nominations multiple times if I'm not mistaken. Sunday VIP Slot - Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Great story, short and sweet (10 eps), Anime of the year 2023. Bonus for Otaku Gold - Yu Yu Hakusho - Same writer as HxH (he actually finished this one 😂), somewhat lengthy (112eps), its old (finished airing 1995) but it's amazing honestly, best anime of the year in 1994 and 1995 at the Animage Anime Grand Prix. In my opinion, among the Big 3 (One Piece, Bleach, Naruto), it has the best fight scenes animation and greatest soundtrack. It's long, but it's completed so you'll be watching a story from beginning to end and be entertained for a while. Also there are plenty of guides to help you figure out which episodes to watch if you want to skip the filler. These filler episodes are not part of the manga's story and are included when the manga is still ongoing to give the author more time to release new chapters. In my opinion, Naruto's fillers are entertaining and don't harm the pacing of the main story, but if you want to skip them, these guides with help you. For the Monday slot I recommend Demon Slayer, in my opinion, it has the best animation of all the new-generation anime. The animation is stunning, and if you enjoyed the animation in JJK, you’ll absolutely adore this one because I believe it’s far superior. The main character is my favorite among all anime protagonists. He’s endearing and courageous, which isn’t easy in the world of Demon Slayer because, much like JJK, it’s a fairly dark story with tragic moments right from the beginning. However, the main character’s attitude and personality makeS you want to root for him and hope that only good things happen to him. And for the Thursday slot I would recommend something more light hearted and fun to give you guys a breather. If you want to follow the sports theme there's Kuroko No Basketball which given you guys background it'll be fun to watch you react to it.

It has beautiful animation as well as a beautiful music score. 2 seasons with 12 episodes apiece. But I think the VIP Sunday slot should be filled by Chainsaw Man, it's only 1 season and has great animation and music. As for the other days: Monday should be Demon Slayer, the main dude is Yuju level kind boy. Good Boy Mondays??? Otaku Gold should be That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, great cast, is a bit renaissance-y, and really kicks up in season 2. Or My Hero Academia. Has a wide cast of characters like the HxH and AoT. And Thursday should be Mob Psycho 100. Takes place in school kinda like Haikyu, I haven't watched it but I liked the first 2 episodes and hear great things about it. But I hear Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is amazing, I read and loved the manga but haven't watched the show. Sk8 the Infinity a is really good, vibrant anime about skater boys and their own Hisoka, it's one season as well. Though, I'd suggest Fire Force bc the powers are sick as hell and the sound design goes astronomically hard, but the fan service of the teen girls is a hard pass.

Very compelling storyline with lots of characters you meet along the way with their own interesting back stories. A touch of romance. Lighthearted adventure anime but with epic fight scenes and power schemes. Heavily based on mythology, angels and demons. Has lots of episodes and seasons. Thursday Haikyu replacement > One Punch Man - Super funny and entertaining but the fight scenes are as epic as it can be. You will love the main character as he's not your stereotypical protagonists in animes like this. Has decent number of episodes, not too many nor too little.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (64 episodes) [FMAB] An intricate story of two brothers joining the military to gain their normal lives back. Also completed! Naruto (130 episodes)/Naruto Shippuden (297 episodes) [Total 427] A young boy strives for acknowledgment against the odds. A well-known classic, and completed piece. Its a non shounen (which all the slots are kinda leaning towards) if youd like some variety. It deals with a lot of trauma and does alot of in depth character studies which would be very fascinating to see you guys check out. It's unlike anything yall have already checked out (so idrk if it fits in any of the slots) but its a classic. And will definitely surprise you going in to where it leads! It has dark elements to it but no spoilers!

However in general, Chainsaw Man, Blue Lock, Kuroku’s Basketball, and One Punch Man are quite popular suggestions and I see they have been recommended by others already— but I also want to recommend some that maybe get don’t get as much attention from reactors and are amazing: Saiki K, Ouran High School Host, SK8 the Infinity, The Case Study of Vanitas, Moriarty the Patriot, Bungou Stray Dogs, Great Pretender. Also, they’re not technically anime but animated series: Avatar the Last Airbender and Castlevania

The best way I can describe it with semi-common references is basically a Harry Potter-like world where the main character is the ONLY person without magic! So instead, he tries to go to magic school with nothing but his ridiculous amount of muscles. Its so funny! The season 2 intro song is also AMAZING, I love it! Sometimes if i feel like I’m about to have a panic attack for whatever the reason of the day is, I’ll put it on and let the beat bring my mood right back up ⬆️! It’s a bop!
