If you didn’t notice, Kafka actually protected those two officers behind him by standing there like that, he acted like a windbreak for the shockwave! If you look at the scene where the officers are arresting him, when it shows a wide shot, you can see how the damage stops in that area. I’m not 100% sure that’s what caused the damage to take that shape, but it’s what I chose to believe! Also, when Kafka is punching the wyvern bomb, you might have noticed that his eyes weren’t shadowy like it usually is when he’s transformed, but looked human, with white sclera. Either his transformation was already chipping away, or that desire to protect his fellow officers was so strong and human that it shone through. The eyes are the windows to the soul, and all Kafka wanted there was to protect them, with his whole heart and soul. I adore Hoshina, and Ichikawa (his English VA is the same as Yuji’s, it delights me) but Kafka’s honestly my favorite!

Hoshino’s a short guy and I’m a short guy so of course he’s tied for my favorite character, along with Kafka of course. Love that we get more background on him. I really wanna pet Mina’s tiger, it just looks so soft bc I KNOW a cat lady like Mina maintains that large kitten’s fur. Tiger lowkey saved everyone by unintentionally alerting everyone/Kafka. Am I the only one who thought of Kaiju #10 being like a Power Ranger villain? Like he had a small form he “died” in so he then grew huge and stronger. But I binged like 5 or yall’s reactions to this while cleaning up my desk and doing my nails (after not tending to them for over a month 😬). Now to go catch up on the JJK and Haikyu reactions bc with multiple birthday parties (I think I have too many brothers lol), cooking for powwows, and tribal ceremonies I have fallen very much behind.

I'd imagine her being like ope you're Kafka, you saved us, you're good to go, wouldn't go over very well. Also her tiger proping her up against the recoil of her gun is badass

Loved your reaction J&J, since you guys are almost done with Kaiju No. 8, I have a couple of recommendations for short anime: Kids on the slope and Run with the wind, they are both short 12 episode anime; maybe you can include them in your next poll!
