2024-11-06 11:05:53 +0000 UTCThe girl's comment about "her child being brought back to life" is a metaphor of how she feels about her Kokoriko technique. The child being Kokoriko; which was born (created) 10 yrs ago, died when the girl herself defeated it by coming up with another strategy during a tournament. Now that the King also used it (thinking that it's his own unique technique) made her feel that her long lost "child" has risen from the dead (since it was no longer used nor mentioned in books after she thought of a way to defeat it). She then hesitated to make her counterattack move because she didn't want to "kill" her child again. I hope this clears it up :)

I can still sense a bit of doubt from Jared's comment, looks like he's not yet sold on the idea that HxH is one of the GOATs in Anime even though they're already halfway through the whole Anime lol But I do understand since they came from the more action-packed, trauma-inducing masterpiece that is AoT, the mind-bending classic Death Note, while simultaneously watching an animation-powerhouse that is JJK. I still truly hope though that they realize why HxH is put on a very high pedestal in the Anime community. The story building, world building, and the character building here is just impeccable.

2024-11-05 23:20:04 +0000 UTCNot sure if it has been confirmed by the author but I’ve seen a theory that the resolution that the gungi girl made, that she will kill herself if she loses a match, might be a self imposed restriction, similar to what Kurapika did to enhance his power (if he uses chain jail on someone else than the troupe member he will die). Although she uses nen unknowingly, through such a powerful restriction she’s able to play gungi so well. I’ve seen people saying that she might be an enhancer (just like Gon). Hisoka’s nen personality test suggests that enhancers are truthful and simple-minded. The gungi girl is exactly that in my humble opinion.

I mean at what point in life where nothing matters anymore is when you realize your existence in this entire universe means nothing, except to the people that matters to you. It solidifies the persons existence in an environment where you have nothing to lose and gain because at the end of life, death awaits. No matter how rich, powerful, influential, successful you are... you can't bring that after death. You were born with nothing, you will die with nothing.
