JJK 2x9 REACTION!!

R.I.P Hanami, you were the 4th hottest girl in the show

Nathan Lintzenich

I love this episode so much, especially with Geto and Gojo being my favorite duo in all of fiction. Their tragic story fascinates me to no end and something I wanted to bring up was that Gojo's sealing was foreshadowed back in episode 2 of this season when student Geto fought that shikigami curse user in the school when they were searching for Riko. This is gonna be a long one, so apologies in advance! So, in 02x02, we see Geto lure in the shikigami curse user (who he thinks is either working for the Star Religious Group or Q) into close combat where for a second or two it looks like the curse user got the drop on Geto as he comes crashing through a window behind him. Then it quickly sucks in the audience into the vision the shikigami user is having where he sees his dear departed pet who he greeted as "Tasuke? Is that you, Tasuke?" and it flashes back to the curse user talking about how his family held him at a distance because he was different than them. He says "My parents used all their time and money on my well-behaved little brother. They thought I was creepy because I could see the unseen. But Tasuke was MY ONE AND ONLY FRIEND who interacted with me without such fear." The curse user then says to his dog who thinks is really right in front of him, "It's been a long time... Has it been over 50 years already? Since the day you died--" Now, this just makes me inevitably think about how Geto is the only character who not only actually challenges Gojo as a peer when they are students, but also accepts him as he is without putting him on a pedestal. And it goes both ways, its why they play off each other so well and why they were drawn to each other in their formative years. I feel like Gojo and Geto are two sides of the same coin, Yin and Yang, etc. So, as the curse user comes to the too-late realization that he's practically seeing his life flash before his eyes, he is already getting his living daylights beat out of him by Geto. Now flash forward to Gojo getting caught in the Prison Realm. It basically went the same way. He was lured in thanks to the love he still holds for Geto in his heart. Hearing "Hey, Satoru. Long time, no see," was more than enough to stop Gojo in his tracks as he attempted to retreat from the threat of the Prison Realm right in front of him. Gojo, knowing he dealt Geto the killing blow after his fight with Okkotsu, immediately starts questioning how Geto could be real. In his mind, he questions, "A fake? A transformation technique? No, it's really him!" and instantly it cuts to Gojo smiling because the one person that understood him and appeased his loneliness is suddenly back in the flesh. Now it's Gojo's turn to see the happiest years of his life flash before him. As the memories of youth flood Gojo and shock him motionless, it's enough to meet the requirements of the Prison Realm and by the time he realizes he has been duped, it's already too late. For that plan to have worked, it means whoever has hijacked Geto's body after death, had been watching Geto and Gojo for a very long time. How else could it have known how close Gojo and Geto were? How else could that thing have known that even after 10 years of being apart following Geto's exile, Gojo still held him in such high regard? Whoever that curse/curse user is, they were patient and took their time just so they could set up this exact plan in motion, which Fake Geto admitted to, saying "I can pass from one body to another by replacing its brain with myself. Of course, I'm also able to use the technique etched into the body I inhabit. I really wanted [Geto's] curse manipulation and this situation, too." Whoever this is has been biding their time and using their knowledge of Gojo and Geto to its maximum potential just to seal Gojo up. Which, just to clarify because with so much happening I don't think you guys caught it, but the standard procedure when a sorcerer dies is to let Ieri Shoko handle the disposing of the body to prevent this sort of thing from happening. I believe cremation is part of it, but because Gojo was distraught over having to kill Geto after willingly letting him go free for a decade, he didn't hand Geto's body over to Jujusu High. That's what Fake Geto meant when they said "You DIDN'T have Ieri Shoko handle the disposal of Suguru Geto's body that day, did you? That was an odd time for you to show consideration." Had Gojo followed protocol and let Shoko handle the disposal, this might have been avoided to a certain extent. Also, there is a season 2 guidebook that came out recently and it had some interesting details that shed even further light on Gojo and Geto's relationship. According to this official guidebook, Geto thinks of Gojo as a protective talisman/lucky charm, which I just think is so sweet. I'd also just like to throw in there that the reason Geto wears the clothing he does after he defects, is because that particular robe he wears is literally called a "Gojo-kesa." After being Gojo's moral compass for like 3 years, Geto pushed Gojo away so he wouldn't go down the same dark path he chose, but it's like he still wants to keep Gojo close on some level without tainting his character. I PROMISE I'M ALMOST DONE RAMBLING. For now. So, yeah. Geto is just my favorite character (Mahito and Gojo are close behind tho), he's so complex, so extreme, and so tragic. I mean, he walked away from his soulmate and got himself exhiled from Jujutsu High to pursue his twisted ideals and try to find his smile again. Yet, in trying to create, in his mind, a better world for sorcerers by eradicating all non-sorcerers he met his demise by none other than Gojo's hand. Now in death, Geto's body has been hijacked and it's being used as a weapon by curses and curse users that all want complete curse supremacy. It's such cruel irony that the Geto ditched Jujutsu High because he felt like just another expendable cog in the jujusu machine, but now even in death he can't rest because his body is still being used as a weapon. I wish we could see more of Geto before his departure from Jujutsu High, maybe one day we can get a spin off his and Gojo's time as students.

silly goose #1 mahito simp

Gotta say, I prefer the English dub version of “Geto’s” reveal. “but my heart and my soul know otherwise!” The English VA’s voice is just so heartbreaking . As much as I love Choso, my heart breaks so much more for Satoru. He was smiling when he first sees “Geto” thinking it was the real one 😭😭 This was worse than the KFC breakup. But as Geto once said “There’s no curse more twisted than love.” And whether Gojo’s love for Geto was platonic or romantic, he truly loved Geto. But the fake Geto said Shoko did NOT handle Geto’s body after he died, because Gojo wouldn’t let her. Implying Gojo valued Geto so much he didn’t want his body to be tampered/damaged anymore than it already was. But that was also the reason this fake was able to take over. Shoko is a Jujutsu doctor so she probably has a special way of disposing of sorcerer bodies, because they hold curse energy. I think it has something to do with cremation, but don’t quote me on that. Now I’m off to buy a few boxes of tissues because don’t forget what the title of this arc is called.

"My Six Eyes tell me you’re Suguru Getou. But my soul knows otherwise” This scene was absolutely Heartbreaking, and still is.. also having seen their friendship in the past episodes made this scene even more painful. My Man has been sealed 😭 and YES GOJO YOU ARE MY SPECIAL. 💙 Always a great reaction guys thank u✌🏻

Badriya

I know bits and pieces about the shibuya incident storyline from watching reactors in the past react to just some of the fight scenes so I know of some things to come and I'm just warning you guys, you will not be mentally prepared...it didn't mean anything when I saw the clips but now after I'm invested I ain't ready myself even knowing what's to come

Jinx's Baby Daddy(Brandon)

Ever since this scarred geto showed up, he never called non sorcerers monkeys, so that was a huge hint.

kiki

It’s about to get….. REAL!!!

SweetSong

As an anime only watcher, this ep felt like it broke my mind bc it made me have the realization that geto truly died at the end of the movie. I had always assumed geto found a way to survive since they didn’t explicitly show gojo kill him (purposely I’m sure) and we see him in season one. But then this reveal happened and it’s like woah that’s why the whole school thinks he dead bc gojo truly killed him. Idk it just felt like it flipped everything I thought I knew and it makes geto’s story that much more devastating.

Fiona

Gojo’s Infinite Void was active for .2 seconds, and that put all of the non sorcerers into a standing unconscious state. Gojo gambled that it was the longest time his domain could stay open without killing everyone in the subway. It also stunned the special grade curses and allowed Gojo the time to kill all the transfigured humans with his hands in 299 seconds. Also Jordan, while I am not a Drake fan, your analogy was hilariously on point 😂

bubbaburto

Well…..here we go 🫠

Sia

Yessss

kevin (btw i'm a girl)

The first time I watched this I was like how on EARTH will they manage to keep him still for a whole minute but then the moment you hear Geto's voice say Satoru it all makes sense, it's insanely well written and incredible Also, no you boys have no idea who this fake Geto is

ZedStar

jjk ended and trauma kaisen started

ZedStar

Finally, we are introduced to my favorite JJK antagonist! Getwo? Fake Geto? Ah, faux-Geto bout it. Seriously though, I think that the reveal is brilliant. Often introducing a new character mid conflict especially on the opposing side to the heros is really hard, since the audience is not attached at all. Somehow we are confused as to who this is and what their plans are, but that becomes intruiging and scary instead of uninteresting and out of nowhere. Amazing as always, love y'all

Jackson Seales

and in dub the va made even more attractive too

carmen 🫧

blank (brain inside geto) really knew how to crush gojos soul that got him be sealed. i think if “geto”wouldn’t of showed he would of maybe escaped the prison realm… 😳 damn

carmen 🫧

makes me emotional all the time cuz even if his eye saw it was geto his soul knew it wasn’t 🥺 friendships like that is all i want 🥺

carmen 🫧

I find the scene with Gojo grilling all the curses attractive 😂😂 Anime for some reason always makes the crazy looks on characters attractive to me 🤣

kevin (btw i'm a girl)

JJK, the only anime where 75% of the main, evil antagonists’ screen time is spent lounging on a beach, blowing bubbles at a park, or having a chill board game night. 😂

Kevin

awww the trauma is about to begin time to grab the popcorn

moonglow

i accidentally watched the movie last so i didn't have that moment until later 😅 there is so much coming up next i don't know if J&J are ready 😭

fox

Yea...the movie was my first trigger to love the anime, and then this moment here was my second, then the third is coming up soon with one of other fav characters...

To explain Getos timeline a little without spoilers. In the beginning of Season 2, when they show the flashback that is obviously the real Geto becoming more twisted. In the movie, if you remember, Geto doesn’t have those stitches on his head. At the end of the Movie, Gojo and Geto talk for one last time before Geto dies. Then theres scene that shows Getos shadow and implying that something is happening to his body.👀 So then all of season one and the present time of season 2, has never been the real Geto. Geto in season 1 and now has the stitches in his head. And in Season 1, fake Geto would sometimes say things implying that nobody new he was alive and that he couldnt show himself yet. That’s why we dont see him fight in season 1 and just stay in the shadows. Bc everyone thinks Geto has died during the Movie 0. So fake Geto is using that as his advantage for this moment. He knew that Gojo cares for Geto and that Gojo would be shocked to see him alive. Making it the perfect plan to distract him for One minute to trap Gojo.

Hey Jared and Jordan, Thank you so much for these amazing reactions! I recently joined your Patreon and have been binge-watching your anime reactions. To be honest, watching your videos brings me a sense of comfort and peace. As the oldest in my family, things can get really stressful sometimes, but your videos make me feel like I’m enjoying my favorite shows with older brothers. I really appreciate that, you’ve helped me a lot. Episode 9 of JJK, in my opinion, is one of the best episodes in any anime, even though JJK itself isn't necessarily my all-time favorite show. This episode had everything—from showcasing Gojo's insane power and intellect to the reveal of Geto’s true personality. Watching Gojo freeze at the sound of Geto’s voice, that tiny smile when he thought his friend might be back, and then the heartbreaking "my soul rejects that," even though his Six Eyes told him it was Geto—it just broke my heart. In your Hidden Inventory arc reaction, you both mentioned how Gojo and Geto’s backstory made the show so much deeper, and I couldn't agree more. This episode proves that. In the end, the strongest sorcerer didn’t lose because of a lack of power, but because of his love for Geto. Thank you again for these reactions. I just wanted to share my sincere appreciation, though I might not have expressed it perfectly since English isn't my first language. I hope it was understandable enough!

Nahla

this episode actually got me the first time i watched it, so far in the anime i had liked it but found it a little predictable, but this was the moment i was like oh, oh damn 😂 i did NOT see that coming. so many implications in this one scene between Gojo and "Geto", but i wont get into it 🤣🤣

fox

Time for trauma folks, grab the popcorn, grab the blankies, get your tears and hugs ready for J&J!

Shoto IcyHot (Slussh)

AHHH. YALL NEED TO DO MORE THAN 2 JJK REACTIONS A WEEK, I CANNOT WAIT THIS LONG😭🙏

justderek

That “New Guy” who’s attacking Gojo is a Character from Season 1 episode 22-23. He is the Brother of the 2 Curses Yuji and Nobara kill. His name is Choso. In Season 1, they showed him saying he felt his 2 brothers just die and was with Mahito.

Kiki Varas

Gojo had activated his domain expansion for 0.2 seconds. Then dismissed it. Even though it was only 0.2 seconds, everyone perceived it as half a years worth of time and information, which left their brains overloaded and frozen. So during that time Gojo took the opportunity to kill the transfigured humans. It took him 299 seconds to finish it.
