R.I.P Toji Fushigoro the legend, lord forbid you can't chase the bag without a god trying to kill you

Nathan Lintzenich

This post credit scene is THE single most important post credit scene in all of JJK.

Hi ! First time watcher of this series and I am as shaken as you guys. So much has happening since we started season 2. I am glad I am watching with you guys and not alone for my first time !!

“THROUGHOUT HEAVEN AND EARTH, I ALONE AM THE HONOURED ONE” One of the best Scenes 💙 GOJO " my man " is THE GOAT !!!

Badriya

Well Toji got hired to do a job so he was in his right to complete it🤷🏾‍♂️ and he did

To add to this, I'm of the belief that Toji wasn't that bad of a person, just a tragic person. In the same way that Maki has been denied by the Zen'in clan, Toji was as well, maybe worse because he has zero cursed energy unlike Maki and we've seen a bit on how Maki was treated for her Heavenly Pact. There are three hints to point towards Toji having given up the hit man lifestyle in the past. The first being the fact that he said "he was rusty" which means he would have not fought for enough time to become rusty. The second being the fact that Toji himself named his son "Megumi" which not only is a feminine name but also means Blessing (I will add to why he forgot the existence of his son). The third being when Toji thought to himself during his final moments. He thinks about how he twisted himself in order to reaffirm himself because the Zen'in clan (his family) has completely rejected him and by twist himself he means villain things like being a hit man in order to kill very strong opponents like Gojo (known to be the strongest) to prove his clan wrong. And finally he thinks to himself "I thought you had abandoned that pride". How I think this all ties together is at some point Toji met a woman that he loved and when he had a child he had abandoned his pride to live a normal life. The fact that Toji himself named his son Megumi and not his wife points to the fact that Toji genuinely thought that him having this family instead of his previous lifestyle was a Blessing. Enough to make him forget about his goal of killing strong sorcerers to prove his clan wrong & eventually confront the clan directly. As to why he went back to being a hit man & having forgotten his son, the only way I see this happening is if something had happened to his wife, leaving him more broken than before. Finally a detail many miss, Toji literally leaves Gojo with his blessing (his son) and Geto with his curse (the end credit scene). We know Geto absorbs the curse because he uses it in the Movie to pull out Playful Cloud. This is my favorite arc of the series because it accomplishes so much with so little time. I will add more about Gojo on the next episode.

The scene where Gojo was carrying Riko's corpse and asked Geto if they should kill all these people who are clapping, was the turning point for both of them.. Geto's refusal in that moment actually saved Gojo from falling into the dark side forever

"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one" This line by Gojo is in quotes. That's because it's a reference to the Buddha himself who said the same line, proclaiming his supreme status while seated atop a tower. Just like the Buddha, Gojo is now alone at the top, occupying both the ordinary and the extraordinary. He's now truly the strongest. Toji only fights for money. He realized too late that he should have run away since he was no longer being paid to fight anyway. The fact is that he couldn't let go of his grudge towards the jujutsu world which rejected him. He was a member of the Zenin clan with no cursed energy so he probably suffered a lot similarly to Maki. He wanted to take down the pinnacle of the jujutsu world to get revenge on the hatred he received. The only time he lost was because of his pride. The only time he lost was against a literal god. Also, I didn't get that at all when watching but Geto was unable to absorb the curse inventory of Toji because Toji is its master. As long as Toji is alive, he can't absorb it. That's probably how Geto knows he has to kill Yuta in order to get Rika in the movie.

I would have loved to see more of fushiguro 😃

hello! moved to jjk after watching your aot reactions! loved part one of season two! all my fav characters present hehe. I am sure everyone already had time to explain everything but since I love all the characters from the flashback so much I feel the need to add two pennies in myself. SO, Toji my number 1 along with Geto is very similar to Maki so you got that right ding ding ding! Toji is I believe Maki and Mai's cousin which I think makes Maki, Megumi's aunt? in a sense but the age difference is kinda wild here so. He married Meg's mum and took the surname Fushiguro and to protect his blessing kept him away from the toxic Zenin clan (so yeah Megumi is wrong about his dad naming him without the care for the gender, he just cared about the meaning of the name more Megumi=blessing). Somewhere in between then and now Megumi's mum died and he had a whole 180 switch and yeah. Similar to Maki he was mistreated most of his life and also seemed to have the sense of need to prove himself (hence during the fight with Gojo he has the entire monologue about wanting to defeat freshly awaken Satoru even tho he did sense "something's wrong" about him). To add a bit to that, Toji was well aware of red and blue techniques as its a common knowledge among sorcerers and he was confident that he could handle it and I truly believe that he wasn't bluffing which shows you how ridiculously strong he is and I respect that. What he didn't know about is purple because it is a very hard to master technique and less talked about which ultimately resulted in his defeat. Overall to me he's a cool, badass guy but I understand not everyone liking a villain hahahah.

I love how the contrast in how life and death affects them is insanely apparent in this one fight. Death makes Gojo see the beauty of the world and how good it feels to be alive, whilst death makes Toji realizes how he threw away his life for evil and money; at this point even remembering his son.

kiki

personally, this is my fav episode ever of JJK. also pleaasee check out this edit of this episode with the song starboy by the weekend, it's soo good i love it. Gojo really is a starboy. link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thMXb5r792s

"If she's not gone I would be shocked" You mean Shot?

Itachi Uchiha (Ericken)

Sup J&J, Remember in the movie how Geto was calling anyone who can't use cursed energy as "monkeys". During the rewatch with you guys I noticed Fushiguro referred to himself as a "monkey". This is probably where Geto got that kind word from.

Mr Johnson

continued on from comments you read before, I think in this episode it's also very apparent how Gojo and Geto both are discussing something from sides you wouldn't expect, knowing what you know happens in the future. Gojo wants to kill all those star people, Geto says there is no point and they don't even know about the jujutsu world, and Gojo is saying does there really need to be a point in killing them? Geto being the one to say it's important that there is a point for Jujutsu sorcerers is just so interesting. The question still remains, what happens to them? I'm glad you are watching episode 5 right after this one.

fox

i love these guys sm man, they pay so much attention

What Fushiguro Toji was saying about Megumi is lost in translation. He tells Geto he has "the blessing of parentage", then things of Megumi, and says "speaking of blessings... I named him Megumi." The reason for this is that "Megumi" means "blessing" in Japanese.
