Hey J&J! To clear up some of your thoughts: Eso might have been able to win the fight if he had kept his rot technique active, because he said he could fight through the pain from Nobara’s Resonance. Yuji started to attack Kechizu relentlessly, and then switched sides with Nobara so she could go finish him off. It wasn’t until Eso saw his brother sobbing, in pain, and in danger that he subconsciously released his technique. Eso chose to sacrifice an advantage in battle for a chance at sparing Kechizu. Also when Eso was on the truck, he was thinking about how he had misjudged what Nobara’s technique did. He thought that it merely turned a curse technique against the user, when in reality, her technique is as we know it: the Straw Doll technique. And yeah, Yuji has a crazy depth for empathy and compassion. When Yuji’s final word to Eso is “sorry,” it saddens me, and it reminds me that this 15 year old kid is having to live such a cruel life as a jujutsu sorcerer. I hope y’all bring popcorn for the rest of JJK ;) thanks for a wonderful and thoughtful reaction to Season 1!

I know they're not animes, although they does have influences. Have you guys considered reacting to Avatar: Legend of Aang/Korra? They are such brilliant shows

We're in it now, J-Squared! What a season! All of my anime peers have been saying Season 2 is even better, so I can't wait to dive into that with y'all. I want to binge the entire series, but I'm fighting the urge so I can enjoy it with you. I still need to catch up on HXH anyway, whoops. I wasn't expecting to see this side of Megumi or Nobara, but I'm so happy we're getting these tastes of what everybody can really do. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm on the edge of my seat, and I'm so excited to join y'all as we find out! Catch you in the next one. -V

I almost didn't watch the movie the first time I went through this anime series because I honestly disliked the first season, I thought the pacing was somewhat bad and it just wasn't vibing with me. But I watched it anyway and my gosh...guys... I haven't seen many anime movies, but this one is def my favorite. It relates to me on a personal level with some past trauma and the main character feels like a past version of who I used to be. After I saw the movie and season 2, I became immensely grateful for season 1 and the mood that it presented. I loved it after my 2nd viewing and the feels hit hard this 3rd time going with yall. Yall are in for some really deep trauma shit once you watch the movie and next season, that's not to say its bad, its just to say that the show is only about to begin....

I'm not sure if you guys caught it, at the end when gojo and utahime were talking about a party, they were talking about who the traitor is. He asks whether she found any candidates which means did she find the traitor. She says she didn't and adds that everyone is busy which means that she didn't find any traitor. Then Gojo says that he doesn't mind it being alcohol free. Who doesn't drink alcohol? Students of course. So, Utahime investigated everyone else and found no traitors so Gojo is telling her to investigate the students. After the call, he mentions that they never know who might be listening around Utahime. That is the reason they're talking in code. Also, I can't believe you guys already finished season 1!!! Can't wait for the movie and season two! You guys are my favourite reactors and I love how much effort you put into the reactions so thank you!!! I'm glad you guys enjoyed season 1💓💞

So I had a big comment typed out, my wifi disconnected and the comment was deleted….I already forgot most of what I said. So rapid fire ramble time, I apologize in advance if things seem random and long, sorry it’s long. But Eso (back face curse dude) was mad at Nobara for killing Kechizu, bc Kechizu was the youngest of the 3 brothers. Eso’s outfit was originally more revealing in the manga. He wore a thong and thigh highs, hence the need for suspenders. I understand why the animation changed to the yoga pants. But also ✨CHOSO✨ my second husband, Nanami will always be my number 1. He shares a voice actor with Oikawa and Hisoka, Daisuke Namikawa. Who, sadly isn’t the greatest person (took the Hisoka role a little far.) Sucks cause he was one of my favorite voice actors. But Choso, as a character, is my favorite curse. He’s the eldest brother of 9 and I sorta am, I have 8 younger brothers and a baby sister. So I always get teary eyed for Eso when he crys for Kechizu. His little sad hopeful face when Kechizu gets back up (right before Nobara really kills him) just breaks my heart a little each time. But I’m still happy Nobara and Yuji made it out, the first years are the best. Also, I’m pretty sure this is my favorite episode of season 1. The fight choreography and animation went crazy. Manily Eso, his bloody wings were beautiful and even the Rot technique appearing as roses! If I didn’t have 2 big One Piece tattoos planned out, I would have my arm covered in those roses. Anyways, thanks for the great reactions I always look forward to them. Love JJK and Haikyu, plus yall are putting me back onto HunterXHunter. And the movie shows my 3rd husband a little more….I really just love the JJK men. Also Gojo pays MeiMei at the end 10 million yen or $90,000 (about $71,100 in today’s society.)

One of my favorite scenes from this series is, Megumi telling Nobara to not tell Sukuna’s incarnation is what causes the deaths of innocent people and the following one with Sukuna telling Yuji it’s all his fault. They both feel responsible for those people’s deaths and would rather feel disgusted with themselves than let the other feel disgusted with themselves. Either of them would tell the other “I killed those people, you didn’t.”

Alex Cheng

Oh boy, my favorite character of the anime thus far, Choso makes his debut !

Julien

When Yuuji was talking about how "tears were shed over the lives we ended tonight" and Nobara admitted she wasn't affected by it because she accepts things like that happen when you're a sorcerer, she then went on to explain the following: "It's like, there are only so many seats in my life, and I can't let myself be swayed by anyone who's not in one of them. Is that mean?" NGL this confused me at first but after several watches (lol) I think Nobara means that basically she's not worried about the rest of the world, yes, she's a sorcerer and fights curses to protect non-sorcerers, but ultimately she's not gonna put in that emotional labor for someone that isn't one of her loved ones. Not to say, she doesn't have empathy either, it just feels to me like she has set boundaries for herself as a form of coping with the exhausting, death-filled work that is exorcising curses. She sees how emotionially taxing it is for Yuuji and it's exactly what she doesn't want for herself and I really respect it. Also, this might be a bit outta left field and likely not doable on such short notice but it would be awesome if you guys did another livestream soon! It'd be so fun to watch JJK 0 live with you guys.

silly goose #1 mahito simp

Choso is just too stacked to ignore. No judgement, no shame 🤷‍♀️

the fight scenes in this anime are top tier! i definitely believe a large reason for why it's so popular is the animation. and the studio really does put a lot of love into making our guys look as badass as possible. the characters and design are really special with this anime. i am so excited for the movie 🔥 i accidentally watched season 2 and then the movie and i do think it's best to watch the movie first! i like the flow of the story more that way, personally, and i do think most people think it should come first because i believe it came first in the manga as well, but i only read the manga from where season 2 leaves off and not earlier in the story. and now my 3rd man has shown up 🔥 i don't tend to simp for the antagonists in anime but Choso, he's my guy. can't wait for season 2 😁

fox

I advice u to watch the first half of the second season, then the movie and then the other part. For me, that made the story feel more cohesive and I cant really explain why without spoilers but thats how I was advised to do it when I first watched jjk, and I liked that way better. The movie is like a “what happens next” after the first plot of the second season is concluded. Without much context, going into the movie might seem a bit out of place. But thats just a recommendation, of course always do what is most convenient to you! But I think it really depends on the narrative u want to create when it comes to an experience as a viewer. Do u want to have the answers first? Context first? Or do u mind finding out the all encompassing arc later? Thats just me tho

Jay is listening to INDIGO.

Also, about the killing instead of exorcising, I think they are considered human instead of a curse because real human bodies were used as vessels, hence that scene a couple episodes ago when mahito fed that human the cursed object. After being fed the cursed object, they got turned into that. You read one of the comments where someone mentioned that it's like what happened to itadori when he ate the cursed object (sukuna's finger) in episode one, except it's extremely rare to be able to contain it the way itadori does. That's why fushiguro was so concerned when he ate the finger the first time, normally he would have just turned into sukuna like how the humans fed the cursed objects turned into the brothers.

Fiona

You guys have me dead sometimes lmaoooo, asking why he hates nobara so much right after nobara kills his brother right in front of him... A lot happened this episode though so I don't blame you, the timing is just funny lol. Anyways, I'm excited for the movie reaction!!

Fiona

He hates nobara because she killed his brother. The brotherly bond is one of the themes of the death painting incarnates (the 3 brothers)

so hyped for season 2 it's gonna be so good
