2024-09-08 00:59:38 +0000 UTCGuys don't forget the whole purpose of Phantom Troupe's existence, they are BANDITS. They steal things. So yes, those eyes Kurapika won are already fake. Kortopi, as you saw, was making copies of everything that were being offered just to let the auction proceed. Although they are murderers, they dont waste time getting into battles or killing people without any clear motive behind it. So, since they already got the items they came for, they wanted to get the mafia off their backs so they had Kortopi make fake dead versions of themselves so that the Mafia would believe they're dead, which in return would allow them to escape peacefully with the real treasures. The bald guy Kurapika smack in the nose is not part of the Phantom Troupe, obviously, he's just one of the heads of some gang...just like Neon's dad. He was aiming a gun at Kurapika just coz he's pissed at him for punching him and winning the scarlet eyes against him.

I think this is my first comment, have been lurking watching your AoT, JJK and HxH reacts over the past 1-2months (and I never did answer your question of where we are/what we do! I'm from Montreal Canada and I work as a systems administrator for an engineering company). How I like to think of the way Kurapika acted in this episode, is that for years, he's been training with a clear purpose in mind; Get the eyes of his clan back and get REVENGE! While it did make him sick when he actually killed Uvo, he has this bottomless well of rage that he needs to unleash on the troupe. When he wants revenge, he doesn't just want the spider to be dead, he wants to spend that rage and do it. And for him to see the fake bodies, it's like him having accumulated mental energy and steeled his mind and resolve for that one purpose, which was taken away from him - he won't get HIS revenge and will have to only think that someone else has achieved taken his goal while he was kept away on 'babysitting' duty for Neon. Then, add the fact that he actually bought and held the eyes of someone in his clan. While he probably can't recognize who's eyes they were, they definitely belonged to someone he actually knew and cared about. Having his purpose stolen from him, then holding the eyes of his people, just made him feeling empty and broken.

2024-09-06 04:53:59 +0000 UTCi was wondering what thefuk hapening with everyone saying "Kortopi" instead of "Korutopi" in the coment i though double J had made a typo in the pass, and people making fun of them but no the US version of his name is writen Kortopi :o i still hear clearly Korutopi tho and since japanese almost only use 2letre syllable they have "ko and "ru" but noting like "kor" that realy weird me out for a moment ahah. anyway that doesnt really matter i just found that fact funny i also have to check on different website to make sure it was not misstranslated in my language but no, even the US HxH wiki note it that way: "Kortopi (コルトピ, Korutopi) " i dont know why they dont use the phonetic name and cut the "U" but i guess it is the same thing as when they translate Yorkshin city to Yorknew city, i cant get use at the fact they chose to translate proper noun, x) at least with Korutopi i still read the U who doesnt exist (i didnt even pay atention it was not here until i read the coment section) but read Yorknew when i was hearing Yorkshin had throwing me off almost everytime ^^" PS: also for the contact he wear he had explain at Melody a few episode back that he wear black contact to mask his eyes, so poeple wont find out his idendity, (as the audience we still see when his eyes turn red but its less flagrant than in the hunter exam or at the end of this EP while is wasnt wearing black contact, it is a way to tell us the audience "his eyes are red" while poeple in the show cant realy notice it, you will probably notice in rewatch the difference in his eyes color when he his mad while having contact and not, isnt the same red

Kurapika does belive that the phantom troupe is dead, he fell for the copy bodies that Kortopi created, which is why he calls Gon to tell him that "it's over". The kurta clan's eyes become scarlet when they have very strong emotions, thus this happens to Kurapika as well, it seems involuntary mostly, in Kurapika's case he gets very angry when he thinks of or sees the troupe or spiders in general, so his Nen power called "emperor time" could be activated naturally against the phantom troupe members because of his scarlet eyes however he can have strong emotions about other things as well like when he was retrieving the scarlet eyes from the auction, his own eyes turned scarlet and at that time he didn't activate his emperor time, he can choose when to active this ability while his eyes are red. Also the condition he set for himself with the vow to die only applies to the restraining chain from his middle finger, which is used solely for the purpose of restraining the phantom troupe, that specific chain cannot be used to restrain anybody outside the 13 members from the spider, otherwise he would die. The chains on the other fingers can be used freely without the vow restriction, some work without the Scarlet eyes like the ring finger and some others work within emperor time like the thumb and the pinky. I hope this helps, kurapika's powers are some of the most complex within HunterxHunter because he's always a conjurer and sometimes a specialist depending on his emotions. The manga expands so much more about his powers and the use of emperor time so you might want to check that out if you wish. Keep enjoying this amazing and epic story, love from Colombia ❤️

I’ll explain so you guys get it: Step 1: Their presence was scaring the mafia community to the point where they wanted to cancel the auction. The troupe’s solution? Fake their own deaths using Kortopi’s nen abilities. He created static dead bodies that were extremely realistic to trick the mafia community. This led to the mafia community continuing the auction when they heard the Troupe had been killed. Step 2: Infiltrate the auction. Using Shalnark’s Manipulator ability they controlled the auction leader and put him on autopilot and killed all the witnesses and guards in the back. They had now full control of every item about to be sold at the auction. You’d think the next step was simply leaving with all the merchandise correct? Not for the troupe. Step 3: Using Kortopi’s ability they created fake, extremely realistic copies of every single item being auctioned. This allowed them to keep not only the original items they had already stolen (which I assume they'd sell on the black market later on), but the billions possibly trillions of dollars being generated at the auction to boot. The scarlet eyes sold for 2.9 billion just on their own. They must have made an absurd amount of money. Every person who gained an item was given a fake copy made by Kortopi while they were none the wiser. I was the one who mentioned how each Troupe member had abilities perfect for nearly every situation. Kortopi’s ability is overlooked probably based on his small stature, but he’s clearly got yet another ability that’s essential for the troupe.

2024-09-05 23:02:33 +0000 UTCAlso, to add that there are non-intangible parts that wasnt mention for stealing powers for example Chrollo can't steal Kurapika's abilities because its all 5 abilities combined into 1 that activates the full capacity of Emperor Time using the Scarlet Eyes and last time I check Chrollo has no Scarlet Eyes and is not a Kurta meaning Chrollo can't use or steal the chains if he tries to steal it, not to mention the link of Kurapika's Nen Vow (condition and restriction) will that transfer to him to? hmm not sure...

2024-09-05 22:38:11 +0000 UTCTo explain the Chrollo vs Silva/Zeno fight: Chrollo knowing that Silva/Zeno were on the hunt for him, he hired Illumi to wipe out the people who hired them; the Ten Dons. Chrollo probably already understood the Zoldyck ideals. Long story short, as Zeno explained it, they don’t do assassinations for fun. They’re strictly for hire and as soon as they understood the Ten Dons were dead and killed by Illumi, they stopped trying to kill Chrollo. To explain Zeno’s comment to Chrollo: Zeno claimed that he would win vs Chrollo one on one. But with the key caveat that he would lose if Chrollo was actually trying to kill him. Zeno understood that Chrollo wasn’t trying to kill Zeno or Silva during that fight. He wanted to steal their abilities which limited him on what he could do. As someone already explained in another comment, Chrollo can’t steal abilities from a dead person or use abilities he’s stolen if that person he stole from dies. Chrollo actually trying to kill during a fight would beat Zeno one on one, and Zeno acknowledged that.
