The next bit about "being unable to correct an incorrect idea" is a bit philosophical but for this application it refers back to tempering, where you completely and steadfastly believe something with no room for doubt, even if it isn't actually possible or logical. "I will punch through this wall", "I will jump across this street in one leap", "I will not go down no matter what".

I used to try and meditate in my room and imagined my aura coming out, mind you I'm a girl and didn't have anyone to talk to about it (Anime was considered a boy thing back then) so I was literally being delusional by myself π€£π€£π€£

2024-08-06 10:51:14 +0000 UTCA little easter egg for you: If you look at it closely, the heaven's arena looks like the tallest building / skyscraper in OUR world too; The Burj Khalifa in Dubai. I wouldn't be surprised if they really did intentionally do that to make parallels with our reality, since their world map is already a rearranged mirror of ours :D However, there is a mystery surrounding this theory since the manga was made around 1999 and The Burj began construction in 2004. That will make it even more fascinating don't you think? Togashi definitely has some explaining to do π€―

2024-08-05 23:38:49 +0000 UTCThese comment videos are my favorite because I get to learn about the animes I'm always new to along with JΒ², I always do quick scroll through the day after you guys drop and miss great comments so I love seeing everyone's great comments on video, and I've never felt more included and part of a reactors community more than this one. I'll try keeping this short but here's 4 notes I wanted to share: 1. Like HxH, AoT also uses our global map as the map for its world, in AoT, their global map is simply our world flipped upside down. Paradis Island is Madagascar with Marley being located in Africa in the real world (apologies for forgetting your name, another patreon actually told me this fact) 2. HxH as had moments in past episodes eluding that Killua actually admires his father. I believe the narrator may have said so in last episode or the one before. Another time was when Killua faced off with the serial killer in phase 3 of the hunter exam after he was asked how he removed the killers heart by the crew he mentioned how his father would've done it better without spilling any blood as it showed kil's hand with blood on it. 3. Heavens Arena is 251 stories, so after 2 years at 8 years old, Killua made it to the 200th floor meaning at 8y.o., he only had about 51 floors remaining......that Lil monster is now 12, this arena won't be the same after Gon and Killua. Let's hope they have insurance on that tower 4. Lastly, portrayal of black anime characters indeed are leaned more towards stereotypes (older anime and some modern ones actually draw the pink lips and afros for black characters) At some point in this anime journey of yours I'd recommend an anime called Afro Samurai, it's done in the style of 70s kung-fu and blaxploitation movies in a post apocalyptic setting. As far as I know it was well received and a lot of black reactors I've seen, a lot say they loved the anime. Not to make this racial, but I'm a white man who only watched a little bit of the series and loved the animation particularly, if anything that could be considered stereotypical or racial offensive in the anime is present it went over my head lol
