HxH 1x19 REACTION! *ALL PATRONS*

Comments

12:37 - spoke too soon. okay that makes sense... but thats sad 😭 14:21 - this is concerning i hope killua doesnt develop any resentment toward gon

riddle

11:42 - my prediction is either the guy with the pink beanie or leorio....

riddle

first time watcher 10:17 minutes in and man... i got a feeling that leorio is gonna cut it extremely close... or maybe wont make it 😭.. i think kurapika might lose against hisoka but win his second battle. and i think leorio might lose his first battle.. leorio is at a huge disadvantage cuz he only gets one redo if he loses his first battle. whereas in the other bracket, the guy who is up against gon has 5 chances if he keeps on losing.

riddle

First time watcher here. Gon is soo stubborn omg I was dying watching him be tortured like that. I had faith in my boy tho. He’s a smart kid. He knows how to get into people’s heads but I honestly don’t even think he realizes it to the extent of using that as like a tactic uk. He’s genuinely just so honest, optimistic, and very persistent. It works for him; it’s very honorable. My guys Kurapika and Leorio were fuming. I was like IKTR! I love the friendship the big 4 has. MY BOY GON THE FIRST HUNTER! GO HEAD THEN GON!!!🫡

Kia

The way Leorio and Kurapika reacts to Gon getting beat really gets me

Paper Bags

It makes my heart sad how much this boy loves his father who just up and left him for who knows what reason..

its_aliza

yes exactly!! was just coming to comment this exact thing

uchenna

LEORIO 🥺❤️

Rubi

yesss I loved that scene!

its_aliza

damn I had no idea Saitam- I mean Hanzo would be this powerful.. and Gon's stubbornness is getting a little bit scary..

its_aliza

Just to explain Hanzo's comment at the end about their fights being meaningless (correct me if im wrong everybody). I took it as; he is addressing the hunter committee to basically do not allow Gon to refuse his win since he didn't agree to accept Hanzo's decision of "giving up" before he got knocked out. Hanzo anticipates that when Gon wakes up (while the tournament is still ongoing), he'll likely refuse to accept his win and would probably be disqualified for being stubborn (or something) hence would automatically make everyone else win. This would then mean all the other applicant's efforts in fighting for their own chance at winning "meaningless" which would be a big deal since all of them wants to win with pride (not just by default due to someone being disqualified). So, in short Hanzo wants to reiterate that whatever Gon says or no matter how much he protests, the committee will still treat him as a winner and make him a Hunter. You can also see this as Hanzo's way of respecting Gon's bravery and unwavering resolve, which is a big deal in his Shinobi upbringing :)

Leorio & Kurapika ready to risk it all for Gon 😆Love their friendship I can't wait for the next one 👍🏻

Badriya

The fact that it was a gruesome fight for everyone to watch, it was basically torturing a kid, and yet somehow Gon can lighten up the mood and make even Hisoka giggle. My gosh.... Gon is special. That made my heart flutter. He's so stubborn lol

Kenken

just to explain shinobi is the word the japanese use to refer to what we think of as ninja lol they do not really use the word "ninja". so hanzo is from a ninja clan. "ninpo" refers to the ninja/shinobi arts (assassination, subterfuge, martial arts, etc.)

Gon is that precious little brother that can get away with anything because he’s loved so much. When you see him hurt your heart breaks, but you’re the proudest person in the world when you see him grow from it and win whatever battle he goes through. That’s how I felt watching this episode and how I imagined Kurapika and Leorio must’ve felt too. Do you think the other matches will be similar? If the other applicants went through the same torture that Gon did, do you think they’d hold out as long or surrender for another chance in the next match?

Charaety

Gon has so many wonderful traits but mannnnn his stubbornness and pride really be taking the reigns sometimes. On another note, Killua's inner dialogue during this episode was so interesting to me. At first it kinda felt like the first sparks of jealousy towards Gon after his ego was wounded when Netero didn't rank him as high as he would have thought/wanted. But actually I think maybe what got wounded wasn't Killua's pride or ego, but his own perception of himself and how it relates to how others see him as well. At one point he wonders, "do I have less potential than Gon?" and it makes me think back to when Killua was surprised and impressed that Gon could even keep up with him in the first phase. It feels to me like he is beginning to doubt himself, which is something we haven't seen from Killua until now.

"It only gets better from here." What's good Doubled J? I'm enjoying these reactions to the fullest. What amazed me the most was how Gon can get people to acknowledge his strength, knowledge, kindness and persistence whenever they encounter him? How do you feel about that? Watching the mood change when Gon took the control and made everyone laugh even though his arm was broken made me cry a happy tear. Appreciate ya'll as always.

ShortyP

Gon is a tough little nut with an immense amount of integrity. I hope that this absentee father is worthy of a son like him.

Cheryl Lambert

omg, I love this episode! it showed Gon's resilience and stubbornness that pushes him forward but by far the most interesting character to me was Killua. He first feels confused as to how Gon could seen better and in the beginning of Gon v Hanzo, he thinks to himself I could dodge that and could do better. Killua's mindset is black and white, either you are strong or you are not and views power only in terms of physical strength over others. could this be a result of his upbringing and family and where do think his character will go? I can't wait for the next episodes and for the journey, you will go on with these characters
