As Kurapika mentioned, Kiriko can transform to human form and Leorio is just pure human lol. I’m looking forward to enjoying a new journey with you two👊

So sometimes when im rewatching hxh or another older-ish show i still think OMG THIS REMINDS ME OF "AOT/JJK/DN/etc" and then have to mentally correct myself that wait, this came BEFORE all that lol. If i had a chance, id go back and watch older stuff first but oh well lol im just glad im here now hehe

His cynicism nicely contrasts with and highlights Gon’s eternal optimism. Small piece of trivia: Leorio’s Japanese VA (2011 version), Fujiwara Keiji, passed away from cancer in 2020. He also voiced Aizawa in Death Note, and Hannes in AoT (S1). He was a legendary, talented, and prolific artist. Thanks, J&J!

That Kiriko that transformed was just taking form of Leorio (pretending to be him). It was a test to see if they’d figured it out.

Love your reactions guys and I'm excited for you to meet the rest of colourful characters in the show specifically a character that 70% HxH fans hate and the other 30% love (imo)

2024-07-10 07:31:43 +0000 UTCWhen the grandma said "I wanted to meet people like you" to Leorio, it was a compliment. That Leorio has the courage to protest what doesn't sit right for him. If not for Leorio's words, Kurapika wouldn't have realized the answer anyway. Also he admitted that his attitude was wrong, which is very hard thing to do. With what happened on the ship (that he immediately save Katsuo before Kurapika but it was not included in the anime) and in this episode he stood up to grandma and tried to take care a man in the forest (and the fact that Kurapika trusted him!), I think is strength is his overwhelming kindness 😊

I'm a big fan of HxH manga, and in the anime they didn't include it but when Leorio and Kurapika was fighting on the ship (ep 1), Leorio was the first one to go straight to help Katsuo without any hesitation, and Kurapika noticed it (there's a manga panel where he paused a bit looking at Leorio rushing to Katsuo), so he followed Leorio to help too at the end. That's when Kurapika learned what kind of person Leorio is... kinda harsh in words but not hesitant to help others by risking himself, he's kind-hearted inside.

Kurapika trusted Leorio to tend to the wounded man and he consented to it. He trusted him and knew he would stay, so when the "false" Leorio came to the forest and she hit him, she knew it wasn't the real Leorio because the real one consented to Kurapika asking him to stay with the wounded man. Lol, not only do you guys have face blindness, but plot blindness as well haha

2024-07-10 00:02:15 +0000 UTCGon is definitely a pure soul with a smile and laugh that can make your day 🤗 Leorio is not a kiriko. The kiriko are transforming magical beasts. Gon mentioned that the one he and Kurapika beat up was the husband, so we can infer that the wife transformed to look like Leorio (since the real Leorio was helping the son and Kurapika “saved” the daughter). All of them did transform at the end. When they’re flying in the sky - 2 of them were holding Leorio. Also, they did make it to the big cedar tree. The house they entered was right next to it. It shows the house next to the tree but it probably got missed because Leorio’s yelling can be distracting 🤣 The tests may seem extensive but they are all helping to “trim the fat” as the captain mentioned. It was interesting to see the different kinds of people/creatures who took on this role to support the Hunter exam. I enjoyed watching the tests though, they were fun to watch! We’re learning more about Gon, Kurapika and Leorio’s characters in different types of situations and can see the camaraderie they begin to form. I mean…who wouldn’t want to be friends with Gon?! ☀️

2024-07-09 22:48:24 +0000 UTCThe Kiriko can take human form, as in, any human form so the kiriko wife transformed herself into a human that looks like Leorio to try to trick Kurapika, they are basically shape-shifters. Leorio is not a Kiriko thus he cannot transform, he is human.

I could be wrong and maybe that was nothing but anime usually puts in things like that for a reason. This is my first watch of this show so I'm learning along with you guys and even though I wasn't really looking forward to this series your reactions make it fun and the show is growing on me. Great reactions as always j&j P.s. since you guys asked to know where we are from and what we do I am from a small city an hour south of Boston called fall river, Massachusetts and I used to do construction for my dad's company's since I was 18 for about 16 years but got hurt and now have other health issues so now I'm 37 and a full time single dad, love these reactions and appreciate the time and work you two do

I am so glad you started HxH and JJK, two of the best Battle/fighting animes out there. The community also chose for you an example of a little bit old school battle shonen (HxH) and a recent/modern one (JJK) so you got it good! I wish you'll enjoy HxH just as the most of us and greetings from Italy! PS. I think i'll also watch Solo leveling with you guys even if I'm most definetly not the biggest fan of the show; but as long as it's with J & J i can even watch a black screen 😂
