Solo Leveling 1x3 REACTION!!

Comments

(In case you go back and read old comments) Though it's not Anime.... and watching The Matrix for the first time now may not have the impact that it did in the 90s, when the special effects where next level. If you ever decide to have a, "catch up on pop culture," reaction channel, you should definitely watch it. The first one at least. The second and third get pretty mixed reviews. I like them, but I'm also a geek/nerd that works in IT and those movies definitely hit different with that sort of background (which I didn't have when I watched them the first time). It's such an iconic movie for it's time and it has a lot of philosophy threaded in through the action and excellent visuals.

What a fun concept ! I’m intrigued by this show. It was great timing bc my cousin actually wanted me to watch this show so I told him I would watch S1 of this show if he would watch S1 of haikyu for me! And even better that I can do it by watching your reactions haha

taetaebear01 (Lindsey E.)

I couldn't resist and watched upto episode 7 by myself guys 😂 but rewatching with you both is always more fun.. This anime is just too good! I can't wait to see your reaction to whats about to happen next

its_aliza

Jinwoo's dub voice actor did such an amazing job in that clip.. I had literal chills.. one of the rare anime where the dub sounds equally as great as the sub

its_aliza

Nah sub is better in my opinion no hate towards the Dub but Aleks did a great job

I'm glad you chose a Series I haven't watched yet so it's gonna be a new experience for me too. So far it seems very promising and I am looking forward to where it goes in the next episodes. Also this is only my second time commenting on your content so far. I usually am a quiet User but you guys are challenging my introvert self haha. I have been following you guys since your Black Swan reaction on Youtube and you are the only Patreons I subscribe to. So thank you for all the hard work you put in every single Video of yours and your sincerity. Your analysis are always on point and you often bring perspectives to my favorite Shows I haven't considered yet. It's a joy watching you guys and I always look forward to a new Videos you upload. Your kindness and generosity have touched my heart, and I am so grateful for your existence

i would absolutely love to have you guys watch this show in the dub, for me personally, one of the few dubs that can surpass the already excellent sub. Aleks Le is amazing at conveying a message through his voice acting, and he actually admitted to being inspired by the japanese voice actor for jinwoo and made to sure to emit the same energy. There’s even a rumour that the japanese voice actor for jinwoo (Taito Ban) and Aleks le, both coughed blood while recording for certain episodes, they are very passionate for their work and it inspires me.

When Jinwoo got transported for his penalty, I thought to myself “Man, imagine if life was like that?!” Setting tasks to achieve goals and getting an automatic immediate penalty when it isn’t completed in the time set. Scary but effective in this case lol Jinwoo looks to be super inexperienced with fighting even though it seems he’s been doing these dungeons for awhile. And now this new game-like system has appeared to help him in the areas he’s lacked. I’m here for it!!👏🏽 Also, Jinwoo and Joohee are such opposite but relatable characters when it comes to facing your fears and overcoming trials. After the double dungeon, Joohee isn’t doing well mentally and is hiding in her room whereas Jinwoo has decided to get stronger despite the scary flashbacks. I think even without the game-like system, if Jinwoo had survived that dungeon he would’ve went back to work as a hunter again. Maybe the difference is their end goal/ purpose? I’m not sure what Joohee’s purpose is (maybe we’ll learn about it later?) but Jinwoo’s is his mom. If he gives up, it’s like giving up on his mom’s life. We face those decisions a lot in our own lives - do we let the challenges or traumas break us down or do we use them as building blocks to get stronger and get to where we want to be? Solo Leveling has easily become a top favorite so far 🔥 Can’t wait for next Sunday! It’ll be my birthday so the next episode will be worth the wait! 🥳 Thank you for the amazing reactions as always!

Just a tiny bit of help ✌️: - Yes, Woo Jinchul was present in the first ep, standing next to Chairman Go or Go Gunhee, the Chairman of Hunters Association (“HA”) in Korea. The surveillance team is part of HA. - Two guilds mentioned so far: The White Tiger Guild (the ones who arrived on the scene and rescued Jinwoo), and the Hunters Guild (where you saw Cha Hae-In being asked to participate in the next B-rank raid as an instructor). These are two of the five largest guilds in Korea. - Dungeon Break: so it was mentioned before that if the hunters who entered the dungeon kill the boss of the dungeon, the gate to the dungeon remains open for an hour before closing on its own. So the hunters can collect crystals/ stones and come out by then. However, once a dungeon is open (like the one that appeared in the middle of the road), hunters have to enter and kill the monsters and boss within seven days from its opening. If not, they call this the ‘dungeon break’ (after seven days), where the monsters inside are able to cross over to the human world and attack humans. Thank you for another great reaction J&J! 💜🙏🏻

There's very few anime that don't use cliffhangers. There's exceptions when it's an anime where each episode is a stand alone story that doesn't connect to one major overall plot (I've usually seen this with anime meant for children) but for the most part expect cliffhangers when watching the adult and mature type of anime since they usually follow a major plot or story arc with cliffhangers up the Ying yang lol

Hiatus is the worst 😭 my favorite manga took like a 6 week break this month, when it's usually biweekly and I was so sad.

fox

I'm keeping up with a lot rn and it feels like I'm sitting in webtoon waiting room hell, everything is either on hiatus or coming out week by week

Lauren Crawford

I need to watch that one. There are a couple mangas I keep up with and I both want to know how they end and don't want them to end 😂

fox

Currently doing it with Kaiju no. 8 and ima need them to hurry up 😭 I'm really happy with how the show is going so far

Lauren Crawford

I didn't observe and write these details, copied from a Reddit convo online, but just to help give you guys a detailed perspective on what these abilities do: Strength: Increases all his physical stats, this makes him hit harder and run faster (since strengthening legs is included.) Agility: it increases his reflexes (Sung described the effect as being able to slow down time around him so he can perceive faster, pretty much exactly like the game superhot.) Vitality/stamina: Increases his max hp and the amount of hits he can take, as well as increases his actual stamina so he can do more without getting tired. Sence / perception: increases his physical senses, e.g. sight, hearing. As well as makes him more perceptive to mana. Meaning he can sense how powerful someone is easier as well as locate them vaguely from a distance Intelligence: increases max mana and magical capability. This lets him use skills that require mana more often. (It has nothing to do with his actual intelligence)

reading a manga / manhwa as it comes out is so special 🥹

fox

I never noticed the real world clock, thank you! This show has mastered the cliffhangers, but reading felt much the same I remember waiting week to week for new chapters to come out like a fiend.

Lauren Crawford

I'm sure you'll catch it on the rewatch but his counter actually said to survive for four hours. Also last week you asked what the mana crystal was used for in terms of Sung Jinwoo's mom's treatment. It never goes into full detail (here or in the Manhwa) but they're basically used as a clean energy source (discussed in ep. 2) but I always thought that mana being used as a source to power the treatment of a disease brought about by too much mana exposure was a little odd. Great reaction as always guys, thanks for these.

Lauren Crawford

Yay for another great reaction 😁 For his punishment it was actually 4 hours, and it did happen in real time, they showed a clock in the real world that showed almost 4am and the punishment started at 12am. When they enter the dungeons I believe time always passes the same. Cliffhangers, ahhh, they aren't going anywhere 😅
