Hange went out in a literal Blaze of glory like the badass she is!! If she had to go, I could not think of a better way. RIP to my favorite character.

Something I enjoyed was seeing eren reduced to a child like state seeing the open sky saying this is freedom completely ignoring the mass murder and destruction below the clouds

Joyboy-

I want to talk about the first 10 minutes of this episode and clarify some things. This doesn't apply to you guys, but from my observations, some people in the AOT community misunderstand what Eren means when talking to Ramzi about his reasons for doing the rumbling. Other than saving Paradis, Eren says to Ramzi that he is also doing this because the outside world wasn't like he saw in Armin's book, and he felt disappointed, which made him want it to get wiped away. However, some people in the AOT community think that this means Eren hated the fact that people existed outside the island and wanted to recreate the exact world in Armin's book by destroying the current one. Yes, he thought about killing the rest of the world, but his problem wasn't that the world was not an untouched natural paradise devoid of people. Eren doesn't care about the untouched outside world itself. He cares about what an empty world would imply. In S3P2 Episode 1 (06:28 - 07:22), Eren explains that when Armin showed him the book, he noticed the look of awe on Armin's face. Eren then explains, "But I had nothing" since he didn't reciprocate Armin's feeling of awe of the outside world. Eren continues, "That's when I knew I wasn't free". In a sense, he lacked something inside of him, and the book made him realize what that thing was: freedom. Despite that, Eren has been shown to be filled with joy at the idea of the empty outside world. That's because the book made Eren realize how far his current reality is from freedom, and thus when he eventually sees the outside world, it would imply his freedom. His joy came from imagining those sights. Eren literally says in this episode at 10:38, "The people who witnessed these things were the ones that had obtained the greatest freedom in the world." The outside world brought Eren joy and motivated him, but he was disheartened to find it was just another barrier restricting his freedom. Nothing changed except that the enemy was no longer titans, but the rest of the world. Eren is disappointed because the free world he dreamed of was a lie. He wanted to wipe it away because if it were gone, it would mean he was free. However, some people say Eren would have still chosen to initiate the rumbling even if the world wasn't hostile to them, which is just stupid. Thankfully, most people don't believe that. You guys here understand, Eren. However, I believe it is crucial to address this misconception and share my perspectives since I wish to prevent any potential misunderstandings about Eren. I hope this helps.

BarnaBash

the way I always weep when I hear Erwin saying "it took off"

The cool thing about the opening of this episode, it is how that manga opens from the first chapter. With Mikasa saying “see you later, eren” while reaching for his face. Then black screen, then him waking up under the tree and that whole sequence with him having a dream he can’t remember and crying.

Skellyp

Hmmm, interesting. How do you label Erwin’s death? I think the two deaths echo each other: both Commanders making their final tactical, war-time decisions, both providing Levi an opportunity to take out The Beast.

antionette7

I MADE IT BEFORE THE LAST EPISODE LFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

EfBeeKay

He is well-written.. not the best person tho

Seeing Hange die after knowing her for so many years hit so hard. Especially for those of us who read and watched this show as it was coming out over the years. She was such an important character and even though she felt like she couldn't fulfil her role as commander properly, we all know she did the best with what she could T.T And seeing her with Erwin, Moblit and the others after her death was such a good closure T.T

Dwob

Rip king Floch, you can hate him or love him but you can’t deny he is one of the best characters in the show

Sean Carroll

Non binary is a concept that doesn’t exist when it comes to gender. You are either male or female, hange is clearly a female

Oh boy, do I have some words about the GOAT Hange Zoe. It's so hard to pick a favorite character, because they're all so well written, but I'd have to say Hange is tied for first with Levi in my list. Their dynamic together is so fascinating, but there's just something special about Hange. She's a scientist at heart, driven by an unquenchable thirst to understand the world they live in. It's what motivates her to capture the Titans for study, and what sends her far past the walls to the shores of Marley. She doubts herself as commander at every turn, but she was given impossible shoes to fill, and an impossible situation to deal with. The triple parallels between Erwin, Hange, and now Armin as Commander of the Scouts is phenomenal, to see all of them shouldering the responsibility of all the lives they have to sacrifice. I cried like a baby the first time I watched Hange's final scenes, and I teared up again watching now. The absolute resolve she has, the passing of the torch to Armin, Levi telling her to give her heart, her exhilaration at seeing the Titans, the badassery she unleashes that ends up saving everybody else, all culminating in her going out in a literal blaze of glory. And then the cherry on top, her scene with Erwin. No lie, I was confused for a second, cause I was like, there's no way Hange survived that. But when I got what was going on, the tears were back in full force. Just like Hange was pondering with Levi earlier, we see that their fallen comrades were indeed watching the whole time, and now it's Hange's turn to watch. Rest in Peace to the One and Only, the Greatest of All Time, Hange Zoe. She had the biggest heart of them all, and damn if she didn't give the entire thing.

Sarah P.

Great reaction twins! Love the insight. Also Hanji is my favorite, hands down, because of how inquisitive, innovative, and down to earth she is. My brother always said if I were an AOT character, I would be Hanji apparently so that's always a plus (I think!). Armin is a close second.

Let me tell u the day this episode dropped, it was a hell on crunchyroll😭😭😭

A lot of people speculate Hange’s death wasn’t a sacrifice…but suicide…and honestly. I can see it

I just remembered this song too, not sure if you're familiar with sub-genre of music called nerdcore but a lot of songs are inspired by anime and this is one of my favorites by a man named Fabvl (I pronounce it as Fabel but have heard it said as Fab-V-L too) but he's a singer/rapper with a aggressive delivery and he has a song simply titled "Let It All Burn" XD https://youtu.be/0mmIPNQN950?si=gOamwWO3wtPDNlPn Enjoy

Please know that despite our government here in Australia refusing to sanction and condemn Israel (we're basically controlled by the USA now) the majority of Aussies support Palestine's freedom and are sickened by the ongoing genocide. Same goes for Syria and Sudan.

Hippopi

One detail I particularly liked was Levi sitting there silently amongst others on the plane. While everyone was crying, he sat there with his fist clenched (the one he put on Hange’s chest) and the other hand holding tight to it. His silence made me feel the weight of his world, emotions on the blink, as if time could stop. To me it was one of the greatest portrayal of loss on screen.

Ushi

i am arabian woman and I am not good at english , l loved watching you from the first episode reaaction so l subscribed with you . AOT has a great impact and different impact in our arab world because we are under genocide in palestine .Syria and Sudan so when you measure things against our real world your words hits me . wish pease to all

"It's as you said, Floch. But we just can't give up...". Hange's words encompass one of the most important themes of Aot imo. Even though the cycle of violence and hatred will always continue, we have to try our best not to perpetuate it and even if we can't, we have to keep trying regardless of the outcome. And that's exactly what the scouts are trying to do. Because they actually had a hand in furthering the Rumbling by helping Eren get to Zeke. A major theme in Aot has always been about making choices that one thinks they will regret the least. Stopping Eren is a decision that may or may not work out in their favor, but they just don't want to regret not stopping a near-omnicide. The scouts represent what the Survey Corps stands for: fighting against insurmountable odds for even the slightest chance of an idealist world.

Rae

Hange’s sacrifice broke my heart and then the scene with Erwin and the fallen soldiers. 😭 Epic animation, epic soundtrack and EPIC PLOT. The next one will be the end of Isayama’s masterpiece. Can't wait for ur reaction guys👌🏻

It looks like all the first time watchers are caught up to watch the finale when it drops! So exciting! 🥳

Kevin

Hell yea! Glad to hear it! AoT is my all-time favorite show as well, and I don’t know if it’ll ever be beat. So excited for the finale!

Kevin

Remember that hange has been a scout for very long time, she has seen friends and more friends die for humanity. So it doesn’t surprise me that she so quickly gave her life to protect humanity, she has seen her commanders and superiors do the same thing she did. I am proud of hange

Xassus

*first time watcher* ~ I wanted to give the final eps my undivided attention, so I watched Part 1 on my own first, before re-watching with J&J. Will do the same for Part 2 ~ The scenes of the footprints with nothing left but burnt lands, showed what it really meant by ‘flatten the earth’. I can picture everything on even ground, and if theres life in future, we may see buildings and trees slowly rising again. Only to see the cycle repeat again. The cycle of life and death.. Seeing Eren cry like that, to a young boy, a stranger. Not even to his friends. Its like seeing his innocent self maybe. Knowing what he’s gonna do to the world. I cannot imagine the feeling actually. Its really sad.. In Armin’s vision, Eren’s excitement to show them both this freedom they wished for, before it pans out with Armin’s conflicted look- I get the feeling that Armin blames himself for this.. Never thought we would see Annie looking confused about her feelings or blushing. Its really heartwarming to see how these guys, having gone through so much, could be civil with one another now. What is done is done, but if Eren didnt make this final move, would they have properly spoken to one another and joined hands.. who knows.. Hange.. 😭🫡 and what Levi did before they left, broke me. Floch did what he could do till the end, and things just happened this way. Commander Hange Zoe, RIP 🙏🏻. That scene with all the fallen comrades, always beautiful. Glad she’s in a good place now. At this point, I really feel for Levi. Though the squad is there, it isnt the same. Hes alone. My entire heart goes to him.. Theres so much more that happened. Realization is what I picked up the most. I feel like the end, may be the end of Eren. Looking forward to the end of AOT. Amazing reaction J&J 💜🙏🏻

Lynn #7

The fact that Levi has just lost the last person that he considers a friend… I feel so bad for him. He is the character who has suffered the most in this anime honestly. Someone give him a hug please!

Attack on Attack Titan!!

First time watcher here. A BEAST OF AN EPISODE!!!!!! THE SCENES. THE SOUNDTRACKS. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. OH WHAT A FINALE THIS IS ABOUT TO BE LONG LIVE MY GIRL HANGE!!♥️ She went out a hero. She's always been an extremely powerful character. At first, I didn't love or dislike her, she was just there. I didn't have any specific feelings towards her character. But eventually she just grew on me and when I thought she died back when they were fighting the beast and then, I was so hurt. I was so happy when she turned up again. That's really when I realized I could not see this character go. I never thought she'd actually die but she had a beautiful and honorable exit. I love her and my girl went out fighting titans while saving her comrades, doing something she loved. What a coldd scene that was. But it was hard to see her go. I'm glad we got to see the fallen characters. That was beautiful. May they all RIP. Commander Armin Arlet! I've loved seeing him grow. We're watched him come so far. IDK what's gonna happen next episode but I really can't take seeing him go. I don't think he will tho. And shout out to my man Onyakopan! He did his thing flying that airship. He's always been an amazing character literally since the moment he was introduced. I really hope nothing happens to him. I wanna see him at the end of this. The finale could go any way. I just hope none of the characters who are there now die. Which is pretty unrealistic to hope. It's the last episode, there's gonna be some deaths and I'm not ready. Anyways, the last episode is coming and I'm sad. I don't want it to end. I remember the thought of starting AOT was so daunting to me so I never started it. It's hard for me to get through series because I just stop watching out of nowhere even if I love the show. But watching like this with the guys and you all, made it so much more interesting for me. It wasn't tiring and I never once lost interest. AOT has become my all time favorite show, in general, not just anime. I hate to be finishing it but boy have I enjoyed every minute of it. One last episode, LET'S GOOO🔥

and about our beloved commander Hange ❤️ I will be honest, when I watched her the very first time in Season 1, I thought she was insane and creepy especially in her scenes with the captured titans Sawney and Bean.. It was from Ilse's journal OVA where I started to like her character and understood her great love for titan knowledge. As the series progressed, I fell in love with her character more and more.. Hange has had so many amazing moments in this show. There is no doubt the scouts would never have been able to make it this far without Hange. She was a beautiful soul.. I cried over her death the most out of all the other characters in the show

its_aliza

I love this theme so much because it's also a central theme in VS

Jay

I think Reiners speech about not being able to ever make up for his sins, but trying to do good anyway is one of the core themes of the show. So many narratives revolve around someone having to make up for past acts by doing good. Isayama says no, that part isn’t important. At any moment in time you choose to do good because it’s the right thing to do, period.

Kevin

The scene with kid Eren above the clouds saying "This is freedom".. this scene shows us thats literally the idea of freedom Eren had since he was a child. A world beyond the walls where there is no other person who could stop or harm him.. a world which he and his friends are free to explore as much as they want. Remember that he grew up believing that the people inside the walls are the only humans left on earth. So he viewed whatever was beyond the walls that caged them all in their entire lives as his enemy from the start and before the basement reveal hia enemy were only titans. The Eren of S4 is in his childish state of mind and can't seem to accept the fact that other humans exist in the world thats why he said "when I found out humanity exist beyond the walls, I was disappointed". To make it much worse, all those humans in the outside world hate him and his people and want them all gone at all costs. This scene is very painful and horrifying because as the titans in the rumbling are moving forward killing people, destroying homes.. Eren is only seeing himself as a child playing above the clouds.. 💔 The monster that the world has forced him to become has taken control over Eren's mind and as Reiner said its agonising for him and he probably wants someone to put an end to his suffering

its_aliza

Even though I know all of this already but still it makes me sad to read it ;_;

its_aliza

Some details you might have missed in this episode: - Ramzi had no idea what Eren was actually saying to him in the first scene because within the show they spoke different languages. Even though both their VA's speak Japanese, their nationalities are different in the show (Ramzi is middle eastern) so to Ramzi, Eren was speaking a language he didn't understand. - The 2 old people we saw in the jail cell during the rumbling sequence were Zeke's grandparents. They were likely imprisoned because of Zeke's betrayal against Marley. - When the crew was waving goodbye to Annie, you see Levi crouched on the floor giving her a very disapproving side-eye. He still remembers what she did to his squad back in Season 1 and hasn't forgiven her. - Levi lost his right eye & Hanji lost her left eye. From the beginning, they've been inseparable pair and now we can see they're symbolically one person. One is the other person's missing half and they've completed each other until now where Levi had to say goodbye. Also with Hanji's death, Levi is the last veteran Scout left in the show. - Armin (from my interpretation) was crying the hardest when Hanji died. It's likely in addition to the grief of losing her, he realized the pain she must have felt from being burned alive since that's exactly how he died in season 3 - In the "afterlife" where Hanji wakes up, Mobilt, Hanji's right-hand man who died saving her during the Shiganshina Arc in Season 3, is the person to give her a hand to stand up. - Also in the afterlife, you can see familiar faces of the characters we lost like Nanaba, Miche, Pyxis, Shadis (who can be identified from their facial features if you look hard enough) and even Sasha. She's in the frame where Erwin, Miche and Mobilt are greeting Hanji, but you can see the back of her head only.

Jay

Armin is skillful at that Talk-No-Justu. You won't understand that phrase. Hopefully you will in the future. About the belief. Do you guys believe in an afterlife? Because I do. I'm not religious but I had a near death experience years back. My soul left my body and I seen my body from above. I witness the dark tunnel and light at the end of it. I witness this powerful loving feeling. I witness my life review ect They have many stories on ND experience on YouTube. Because I experience it for myself, it's no longer a belief to me but a truth. But I don't expect anyone else to believe in an afterlife if they never seen it. The logic part of our minds won't allow us to believe. But I really like the "Heaven" scene Another thing. Levi is scared of clowns. What are you guys afraid of?

Itachi Uchiha (Ericken)

This show depicts the rumbling so well from its scale, power, and deadliness. And the animators focusing on Ramzi & his brother's death is such a powerful way to convey this message. For Ramzi & his brother, their livelihood consists of stealing money so they and their family can make a living. It's a dishonest lifestyle, but they seem to have good intentions behind it since it's to get them and their families a chance at a better future. Now when the rumbling arrives and forces them to (once again) flee their homes, the money they had saved is the first thing they go to because for them, that is their life. Those pennies took so much pain & sacrifice to acquire, so the prospect of losing them is unimaginable to Ramzi's brother (Remember Ramzi literally lost a hand). But ultimately they are caught in the crossfire of the rumbling, an issue that is so much bigger than anything they ever wanted to be part of. This also applies to the billions of people around the world at the exact same moment also getting crushed by the rumbling; they were probably living their lives as normal then were forced to give up their entire life like Ramzi. So multiply the pain you felt watching Ramzi and his brother get crushed by a billion, and then you can get a small feeling of the combined pain & despair being caused to the innocent people who never wanted any part in this issue to begin with. Remember: For every 1 guilty person dying from the rumbling (who some might argue deserve to die), there are probably 1000 innocents who are caught in the crossfire suffering the same fate.

Jay

I was uncontrollably sobbing 😭

Elle Firespray

Hange Zoe, RIP. Hange is a character that grew on me exponentially with each rewatch. I know it’s been mentioned, but I am unsure if J&J are aware: Isayama purposely wrote Hange’s gender as ambiguous (non-binary) and up for audience interpretation. Gendered pronouns are absent from AoT translations when referring to Hange’s character. Thanks, J&J! It’s been an amazing journey with you and all your Patrons.💜🙏🏻💜

antionette7

Tears here too. Levi lost his bestie. Hange’s exit is so crushing.

antionette7

The beginning of the episode is the same as the beginning of the very first episode indicating that eren seen it all somehow already. Which is why he was crying when he woke up from his “dream”

Nicholas Mailoto

I can't believe we're already here! T_T My comment will be long on this one, please forgive me. These are only MY thoughts. About Haril trying to pick up the money when they were running: I was surprised you said "They worth noting anymore" because most of the reactors I saw usually say "why pick them up, they worth nothing!" or something like that. I thought it didn't matter to Haril at that time if those were worth anyting to the world or not. For Haril, THAT money was the money Ramzi got sacrificing himself for his families, it wasn't that simple and easy for Haril to give up on it. I thought, THAT money was so important to him, he even forgot about the reality. Armin and Annie scene on the boat: You know I must say this even you looked not confused at all!(I'm so happy you just took the scene as it looked.) No any titan successor has inherit "the emotions" of their former successors. Eren don't look at Carla "that" way, and nor does Porko intend to save Historia or anything. Sometimes people get confused, and I know that is what Isayama wants, but I had to say this for Armin. Just think, if Erwin was the one who inherited the colossal, will he miss Annie so much? I don't think so, so the feeling Armin has is literally his own. At least, he had his own "seeds" in him. :) In my opinion. About Floch: I know I mustn't say "finally", but now, he finally got his peace. As you can see, it looked like Eren hadn't had much love to Floch then the other 104th, which makes me so sad.(Of course I won't say Eren had non of love towards him, but the fact he took in Floch in this plan that he didn't let his "beloved" ones to involve, that says everything.) I know, Floch might of known that himself(about the lacking of cares from Eren), but Floch was also in the state of "I'm protecting my friends and families on this Island, no matter what" so I think he didn't care so much for himself either. He lived with so much of the survivor's guilt from that day, he didn't want to experience any of the lost anymore. R.I.P. Floch. About the death of Hange's and appointment of the new commander of the scouts: I've been Armin's fan so long, so you can imagine how we(we "Armin fans") had expectations for Armin to become the commander someday. But when I first saw this scene... I was so shocked and thought to myself "Why didn't I see this coming?".(Which means "the death of the previous commander" needed to be there for him to become one.) I loved Hange so much too, so this was rather sad for me, I cried over this for few weeks really.(The scene at Odiha after the Hange's death scene took a month to come out.) Isayama has intentionally not let the dead speak in this show, so I thought the scene Hange been with Erwin and others were all Hange's imaginations. As you said, that scene was mostly just for us audience to have a slight little peace in her death. T_T R.I.P. Hange. ---Oh I forgot! I wanted to write this. This chapter that Hange died came out right after her birthday... We fandom celebrated her birthday with full of joy and happiness, had no idea what's to come... The scene in the path speaking with Eren: This is the first time I noticed this, so I had to write this.(I don't even know how many times I watched this show, and yet, I get these new discoveries. wow) After Eren said he's not going to let the Paradies future play out in a chance, Jean said to him "Why not? Can't you trust us?" or something. At that moment, I had a flash back to the scene when Petra said to Eren "Can't you trust us?" to make his decision to go to the command squad in the forest. Of course we know, I mean, Eren knows the outcome of it, no way he would of took the same path... Last thing! From your discussions: You said something like "We can't understand until we feel it. Looking at that is not enough". I remembered when Magath was talking to Willy, he said "Even if we let them listen to the sound of the bullets grazed the side of their ears, they won't stop the war" or something, and I thought I finally got what Magath wanted to say there with your words. Willy was saying Magath was trying to restore the military conscription for Marleyans, so maybe Magath wanted to let the Marleyans to "experience" the war in order to stop them. This is what I thought. Sorry to be so long. Have fun at the last episode... (I really can't believe it...) Take care :)

I have an idea for a video, it would be best if you do it before the second episode or you can do it at the beginning just as your discussions. The song "The Rumbling" is written with Eren speaking to Mikasa and the ending song of this episode "Under the tree" is Mikasa speaking to Eren. It would be very cool if you react to both full length version of the songs back to back and give your toughts

Arturo Liera Bravo

I’ll leave it up to you guys if you want to watch this before starting the final episode, but here’s a link to the official music video for the ending credits song of the first special episode. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IPX-L2F78fU Don’t worry, nothing is in there from the last episode. I think it would be fun to watch to really set the tone and see several callbacks for the whole series before watching one final episode.

Kevin

Great reaction guys, I'm going to leave my comments and questions for the last episode

Angélica Hernández

Levi to Erwin: Give up on your dream and die. Levi to Hange: Give your heart. These two quotes from Levi show us his respect and love for his comrades as well as his selflessness and iron will. The wording of his line to Erwin seems harsher than what he said to Hange but the sentiment is actually the same. Both Erwin and Hange took their last stand, willing to sacrifice their lives just to give their comrades even the slightest chance at hope. By this point of the show, I think it's fair to say that Erwin and Hange were closest to Levi out of everyone, and instead of trying to stop them from sacrificing themselves, Levi accepted their decision without question. Not because he was okay with losing them, but because he was always looking at the bigger picture. Levi respects the sanctity of all human life and has fought to preserve it, regardless of the cost. (Remember how he was disgusted to find out that by killing titans, he had actually been killing people the entire time?) Eren's motto is to FIGHT and KEEP MOVING FORWARD and commits heinous acts of destruction and murder to do so. On the other hand, Levi also embodies the relentless spirit to fight and keep moving forward BUT in a completely different light. No matter how much most of humanity hates him just for existing, Levi's moral compass never deters. He keeps fighting and he keeps moving forward, not for himself, not for just his people, but for humanity as a whole. Lastly, RIP to the homie Hange. They went out in an absolute blaze of titan-filled glory, now it's time to rest. One of the greats.

It's absolutely devastating to see how many people Levi lost during this show. Hange's death ruined me when I first saw this lol I cried when Erwin showed up again 😭

Rest in peace also to Eren and Zeke’s grandparents. They were shown briefly together in a jail cell right around the time Ramzi died. I think they were imprisoned since Zeke betrayed Marley. Can’t even imagine how much guilt they must have felt in their final moments

Sidarth

At the 01:07:01 of your reaction video, if you look closely, while everyone is saying goodbye to Annie, you'll notice that Levi is the only one staring at her with anger. He still hasn't forgiven her for killing his squad back in season 1.

Noah

I love when people ask “what can Hange do to slow them down?” before she goes crazy on all those titans. Her final scenes are some of the best in the series. RIP Hange

Jordan Cobb

Armin speaking to Eren: "I have another question to ask you, once we drag you out of there, In what way are you free?” I wonder how many fan girls dropped their panties after hearing this 😂

You have an Army, yeah We got a Jinx(Brandon)

I need to watch the rest of the reaction later, but I did take a 5 minute break to just watch their reaction of Hange's heroism and I saw no tears, I was so disappointed 😭😂😂 I guess we all react different to things lol. I still can't go thru that scene without my eyes getting teary. RIP to the absolute GOAT 🐐 (And Moblit helping her stand up in the afterlife... Like what 😭😭😭)

Guys in that song that played when hange was being a bad ass holding off the Titans it played back in season 1 where Eren trusted Levi squad and one of the lyrics is "We will fight until this hot wind takes our wings" the burning of her wings of freedom symbol on her but also that basically they planned that song for hange back in season 1 I know I'm talking a lot but there's foreshadowing for it go back to the OAD Ilse's Notebook: Notes from a Scout Regiment Member and when it's going into the intro around 2 minutes for the opening is hange burning away while she rides on the horse INSANE FORESHADOWING! 🤯

I’m pretty sure I picked your comment before you just don’t remember lolol 😁

"Fiery water, lands of ice ... anyone who saw those things would be the freest person in the world". Eren actually said this back in Season 1 Episode 13 titled Primal Desire. It's one of the most brilliant callbacks of the entire series. How fitting is it that he says this as he looks out at the view of clouds before him blissfully ignorant of the carnage and devastation below and the fact that he's depicted as a child is indicative of that ignorance. I see him reverting back to his child self as a coping mechanism for him to move forward. According to the director, Isayama said, "I want the people who are watching the anime to feel 'elated' by putting themselves in Eren's shoes, and then when they see the rumbling scene, I want them to regret that excitement that they just felt when they see how horrific it is." This is exactly how I felt while watching the Rumbling: horrified. I think Isayama purposefully chose to depict civilians being killed to show just how cruel and horrific Eren’s actions truly are.

2 hour stream!!! lets goOOO!

Discussion Question for you guys: Though, we don’t condone crimes against humanity but do you think Eren’s actions are justified after what we’ve learned about Eren and the entirety of the show so far? (Note that we’re talking about things in a fictional standpoint)

MangoJuice

WTHH this is my first time appearing on viewer discussion.. it was such a surprise when I saw my profile and such a privilege to be present for one of the last aot episodes too haha 😆
