And we can't expect them to. Nor should we expect them to. This is why understanding and respecting is crucial. I believe we don't have to understand but if we want to end war we must respect others beliefs. Aslong as the person isn't causing harm to anyone, he/she has the right to believe and follow their own path without others trying to change them to fit in their box. It feels like when I said something similar to AOT opinions J&J disagreed. But when AOT writer says it then now, Oh. Yeah. I agree 😆 SMH

I had already started the next one until the guys said something about ‘last episode’ and I was like wait did I skip one. And yes I did. It was this episode. I’m so glad I realized This episode was so good. The scenes in the episode?!?! 🔥🔥 veryyy well done. Mikasa being the badass she is owned those fight scenes. My girl is a BEAST! RIP to Shadis and Mageth. I love that those two reached their end together. Two powerful forces who were once on opposite sides. But at the very end they were able to take accountability for their roles in things. In the end they weren’t a Marlyian and a Eldian; they were just Keith Sadis and Theo Magath. They both cared deeply for their students and just wanted them have better lives even if they wouldn’t be around to see it.

2024-06-15 05:49:44 +0000 UTCAlso I guess you guys have completely given up on Eren and Mikasa as a couple XD I do believe there have been moments in previous seasons where we have seen Eren's care for Mikasa.. If I think about all the moments that the main trio (Eren, Armin, and Mikasa) have shared in the previous 3 seasons, I would not completely believe the hurtful words of Eren we have seen in season 4 when he talked to both of them at the table. Jean is the one person who would definitely benefit the most if Eren was out of the picture lol but even he refused to make sense of what Eren said and he doesn't want Eren to die. and Mikasa's love for Eren is way too deep to just be gone so easily. She still firmly believes that somehow she can stop Eren without having to kill him.

If the people of the island think that destroying the entire world will bring forever peace and happiness among them then can't be more wrong. Erwin said it in season 3 part 1 to Pixis that humanity will continue to fight till there is only one human left. So if the world doesn't eliminate Paradis, they themselves will. Also there are not just enemies out there in the world, there are way more innocent people than evil ones who are in danger because of the rumbling and they don't deserve such a horrible fate. This is why I will always support the allied forces.. they might be traitors for their own people but they are doing whats right

Both had to train child soldiers to fight each other’s children soilders. Both grow to care deeply for the children they trained. Both see themselves as failures that can’t be forgiven. And both sacrifice themselves in a blaze of glory to help save humanity. Magath and Shadis are almost like brothers with how similar they actually are. It’s touching that in the end they had a mutual respect for one another. I just wished they could’ve talked longer so they could know just how similar they both really were. 🥲

Without Sadies coming into to kill the Jaegarists, Magath could've died. The Jargarests could've sank the "fleet"ing (pun intended) ship. In the end, Keith Sadies, was special.

2024-06-15 04:08:12 +0000 UTCHey J&J, you guys were saying it’s hard to see characters like Annie and Reiner on the same moral level as someone like Armin or Mikasa. On my first time watch I 100% agreed with you guys on that. Even as they all teamed up together I never got over the atrocities that the warriors brought to Pardis. I felt that the things they did just could not ever be forgiven. However… this is my second time watching the show in full and I have to say to my own surprise my opinion has done a complete 180. I guess it’s because I had more of the details from the beginning on my second watch so specific scenes of Reiner, Annie, and Berthtolt just hit different. Now I can’t help but feel a lot more empathetic to the warriors. I also wanted to ask a question that stems from this topic. How do you think your opinions might change on a second or third watch of the show? Do you think you’ll feel different towards certain characters or plot lines? I know personally the more I watch the show the more I seam to love it.

Because, if I was said would I chose to watch my dear daughters get killed in front of my eyes, or would I chose someone's deaths who I hardly ever know. I know Armin and them are in the "right" side, but even if I know it, I might chose the "wrong" option to protect my daughters. I think this was the mind Floch might've be in... I can't tell surly because I'm not in this situation, but just to think... I won't know what I might do. I remember this episode airing, I was a bit mad at Mappa. The Mikasa's "slaughtering" scene is no where in the manga. I believe many of you like this scene, but yet I was frustrated they animated it so brutal and cool at the same time. I thought Mikasa won't do that overkill for her moral and lack of leeway at the time. Also, why animate the "slaughtering" scene so cool? I know it's Mikasa we're talking about, she can't stop been cool, but it was too much for me. And this is only my opinion. Sorry for who like this scene T_T Thank you! They completely disagree with erens actions but are also his best friends, the people who understand him the most and therefore understand the pain that eren is in more than the yargerists who simply see eren as their god who will save them. The yargerists don’t care about eren outside of him being their saviour. The whole killing their own friends thing is supposed to be hard to watch but perfectly mirrors the struggles of Reiner and bertholdt which isayama made clear in the last episode. I would say Samuel and daz are technically worse people than Connie as they are genocide supporters whilst Connie has a desire to save the world even if the people hate him. He doesn’t want to be complicit with genocide as none of them would ever be able to forgive themselves. I just think people like you who support the yargerists/rumbling are crazy to me because it totally goes against the message of isayama story

Annie makes it clear that she thinks she’s a bad person for her lack of care. She is selfish and she admits that so from a writing perspective it’s not done badly at all, she was setup differently to Reiner. Your desire for them to be painted with the same brush is naive

While I understand why Armin and the others want to save the rest of the world, even though those people are their enemies, they believe it is the right and noble thing to do. However, I struggle with the idea of them killing their own friends, with whom they've trained and fought alongside, just to protect those same enemies—the very ones who want them dead. To me, that seems incredibly illogical and also very cruel. Moreover, as Samuel pointed out to Connie, aligning with the Marleyans to save the world might endanger their island. Essentially, they were willing to risk their own home to save their enemies. In the confrontation between Samuel/Daz and Armin/Connie, Samuel and Daz hesitated to kill their friends, and because of that hesitation, Connie ended up killing them. So, who are the "bad guys" here? I still like Armin, Mikasa, Connie, Jean, Levi, and Hange, but I don't agree with their decision.

It just made her seem like a jerk, especially given the fact that Reiner is part of the alliance and has suffered much worse in the same 4 year timeframe and continues to fight.

But it is just so much more than that, there are no words to describe this show. None at all. Who could imagine a completely non related scene would have such an impact on me. The whole scene with Keith Shadis and Theo Magath…2 people with similar positions in different worlds. Supposed enemies but not really. Sacrificing themselves like this…and the way they asked each others names. Moments before dying. I would never imagine a scene like that with 2 characters i don’t really think of often would have such an impactful and beautiful scene. It’s truly incredible how this scene was portrayed. I CAN’T even begin to explain the emotions this anime unravels. Scenes like THIS! Are not supposed to be ignored by people just because this show is an anime. Everyone should watch this show at least twice…!

There are parallels between the geography of AOT comparing to the map of the real world. Take the map of the real world - put it upside down - and inverse it horizontally.. you get the map of AOT. Think of Paradis Island as Madagascar while Marley is the mainland continent of Africa. Hizuru is considered to be an Asian country and the Mid-East alliance, hence the name, is part of the Middle East. You can take a look of an AOT map from google just to see things in perspective. Even at the beginning of his arc when he was a pawn Marleyan government, he always showed little signs of caring for his students. Such as letting them celebrate on the train when the other Marleyan official wanted to shut them up. Or when he caught Zeke and Colt having a conversation and he sarcastically bantered with them about how they don't get privacy. He is one of the few adults that realizes the mistakes of his sins and the trickle effects it has on the younger generation and he decided to change his antiqued ways that were engraved in his head and make a change.

I love how the two of you recognise the significance of two adults taking responsibility and reflecting on their past mistakes. It throws you back to Mr. Braus and his statement about 'keeping the children out of the forest'. It's sombre but hauntingly beautiful.
