They’re sole goal is kill the people of Paradis. They don’t care. But the kids. Gabi, Falco, Udo, the whole gang. They don’t deserve this. This is just the life forced on them by the marlyian government. Them screaming for Reiner was painful and I felt sympathy for Reiner as well. He just wants to die in peace. I think it’s time for him to do that. But he loves those kids so he has to fight. However, no matter how conflicted I feel, I’m always gonna be on the side of the Paradis squad. Let’s see what this battle between Eren and Reiner bouta turn out. It’s now or never for them. This has got to be the final battle between them.

And this is EXACTLY what Marley would have unleashed on Paradis AGAIN - civilian/children death included - had Eren not wrecked them first. Moments ago, Willy Tybur had stood in front of the world declaring war on Paradis in the name of Marley, and everyone had cheered and clapped and hailed him as a hero, happy at the thought of obliterating a whole race. And now, when they're getting a taste of their own medicine, I'm supposed to feel bad for them? When they are at the receiving end of what THEY have done and would have done AGAIN to the people of Paradis, I'm supposed to view them as victims? Haha, sorry, no. And even more so when you consider how selfish Marley's motives for waging war on Paradis are. They've been running around "conquering" other nations for so many years now, and in their greed to possess the Founding Titan, they even sent Reiner & co. to Paradis to massacre innocent people. But they got their asses whooped, lost 2 of their Titans to Paradis, and suddenly, the world was on to them. A very convenient time, therefore, for them to say, "No, no, guys, WE'RE not your enemy. Yes, we've been oppressing all of you for God knows how long, but remember who the real enemy is? Those pesky Paradis devils! Dirty blood! They'll trample us all with their tens of millions of Colossal Titans! So let's go kill them first!" Basically, they've rallied the world against this common enemy simply to detract from the fact that, currently, THEY are more of a danger to the world than Paradis is. While on the other side, you have the Paradis people who, at this point, are simply being punished for what their ancestors allegedly did hundreds or even thousands of years ago, and about which they have no memory and were absolutely clueless until they read Grisha's notebooks. Wasn't it about time to deem that they've been punished enough, and to just let them live in peace like every other human on the planet is entitled to? But no, Marley is still going on and on about their "dirty blood", because how else are they going to keep that common-enemy illusion going? Honestly, thinking about all this makes me sick. It's like saying a serial killer's children need to be subjected to the death penalty along with him, because *it* might be in their blood and we ain't taking any chances. Where does it stop?? Makes me sick. But conflicted? Not. In. The. Slightest. To paraphrase Mikasa from season 2, Marley made it pretty easy for me to pick a side when the Colossal Titan kicked a hole in the wall in Shiganshina and turned paradise into hell... Ok, rant over! 😛

Fully grown adults come out of war with damage to their psychies imagine what it does to kids. While I don't think it excuses some of their actions it helps me rationalize it enough to keep loving them as characters.

2024-05-22 11:12:40 +0000 UTCI know it may seem like eren and the scouts are "grown" in season 4, yes they have learned and matured over 4 years but need to remember these are still mostly only 18 or 19 year Olds, eren is only 19 in season 4, personally i still look at that age as being a "kid" emotionally and mentally since theres still lots to learn at that age, its hard to remember during these horrific scenes of war and death that these are still people in their late teens, most of them are at least (hange and levi are older and in their 30s i believe by season 4 or close to it i may be wrong) when you think about it this way, it makes the events weve been seeing in season 4, actually the whole series, it's tragic and sad these children were basically forced to be weapons of war at the age of 12 and witnessed family and friends brutally killed by the time they were 15, just wanted to give out that perspective, shows how genius isayama is because this aspect of the series definitely adds to how human these characters are Thank you for another great reaction, watching your reactions really make me feel you guys are in the room with me and i sometimes catch myself talking to my screen like im there part of the discussion and you guys can hear me lol much love from the east coast and Boston

When you’re putting characters on pedestal you’re bound for disappointment (and emotional damage lol). Just chill and enjoy the show without thinking of everything too seriously

I’m pretty sure I mentioned weeks ago that people tend to mix them up, esp in Season 4, because Armin’s voice actress in the sub is a woman, unlike the dub where he sounds more masculine 💀 (I still think the Season 4 sub is WAY better). There’s more confusion coming with sudden flashbacks that won’t be too straightforward either. Y’all try to go easy on them 😂. Great reactions, J&J! Super excited to see how tomorrow’s reaction will go.

2024-05-22 05:43:55 +0000 UTCIf I've said it one time I've said it 1000 times, some of these characters have me in a CHOKE HOLD and can do no wrong. If I'm questioning myself as to why I still love them I just remind myself that almost every single major character in this show is a child soldier with active combat experience. The atrocities of war destroys fully developed adult psychies, never mind what it does to children and how it affects their actions. And that helps me accept their behavior enough to keep loving them 🤷♀️ if you put yourself in everyone's shoes and look at it from their different perspectives , it makes it easier to understand what they're doing and why.

You guys must be geniuses! Maybe for the next series the guys should take their time, watching and rewatching so they can absorb everything at their own pace and not release content 6 days a week. J & J, you guys are doing a great job. I love hearing your theories, your excitement and watching how much joy doing this new genre has brought you both. Thank you for opening up a new experience for me that I wouldn’t have stumbled upon if not for you both. It's just that even though Armin and Historia do look pretty similar, their voices are (in my opinion) pretty distinguishable. Just hope they recognise this for the future episodes!

2024-05-21 23:46:17 +0000 UTCI don't know how to feel. I just feel conflicted. It's odd. I know 3 things though. One im genuinely terrified of Eren. He almost feels inhumane. I never seen him so detached in a way to morality and also just be calm the entire time. To him, it's a necessary evil but it's such a dangerous mindset especially since he's getting more power. More power brings more corruption. Because too much power causes a distortion of another since they think they are unstoppable and untouchable. That's what is scaring me about Eren (more I wanted to say but won't). Two, seeing people from Marley die is hard because at the end of the day they are people too. This war started to me with lies, power and confusion. So, the deceitful stories hit Marley and Eldians. Three, I just feel conflicted to finish this show. I am afraid of the fear I feel. Like I feel so afraid rn? However, I need to try and stick it out because I truly love this show. 💜 What a ride my AOT comrades! What a ride! I feel like it only gets worse (or better lol)

We see a completely different, somehow even more determined Eren Jaeger and we also get Gabi Braun who is the mini Marlyean Eren. Imagine if Marley had somehow gotten a hold of the Attack Titan and Gabi somehow inherited it? It'd be wild in a whole 'nother way.

Also the face his titan was making as he was using the jaw titan to break open the crystallized shell of the war hammer titan is nightmare fuel. I think I purged it from my brain the first time I watched AOT because I genuinely do not remember his face looking like that. And Porco's VA performance was absolutely brilliant, him pleading with Eren, begging him to stop... his screams are truly haunting.

2024-05-21 21:49:50 +0000 UTCguys i dont think eldia would ever drop pure titans from the sky. lol not only because they dont have zekes scream but because they see eldians as patriots and subjects of ymir just like them. they did enough killing of their own people in season 1-3. only marley isnt beyond using titan warfare. thats not to say a lot of innocent eldians didnt die during the attacks tho because of them. but they have no choice. they have to become the devils the world see’s them as to stand a chance. also notice how levi is the only one using traditional odm gear and rocking the cape? its almost like he is a scout before he is eldian. and also because he needs his swords to take out the beast and fulfill his promise to erwin.

2024-05-21 21:42:56 +0000 UTCA few clarifications, that wasn't Historia, it was Armin in the ship with Hange and Onyankopon :)) Also, Eren realized the power of the Jaw when Porco scratched the Crystal containing Lara Tybur when Porco attacked him, and then figured he could use his jaw to crack it like a freaking nutcracker (Eren: "So *this* is the Jaw's power?") Something interesting about the Jaw Titan is how different Ymir's Jaw was from Porco's. Mikasa even said "So fast! Ymir's Jaw was nothing like this" andone has to assume that the difference has to be the Marleyan training that the Eldian Warriors go through. As we saw throughout the last episodes, Warriors go meticulous and intense physical and mental training that is curated for their particular titans. Ymir had nothing like that and her titan was powerful, but it paled in comparison of a titan shifter under the Marleyan Warrior Program, like Porco.

The scene of him gulping the blood of the war hammer titan was pretty barbaric as well. It just made me think that the Eren we used to know is really gone. We don't really know what his mindset is at this time, but he obviously sees civilian death as a necessary evil to get what he wants, which seems to be revenge right now. (Also, that wasn't Historia that you saw, it was Armin! The airship was over him when he got out of his titan so he must have gotten into the ship)
