No time to comment, gotta keep watching

i get what you saying and i agree whit you on most part but you did forgot to mention an VERY important detail, you said "it’s the same as what Reiner and Bertholtd did" but while the action is the same the motive differ and there is other big difference here, when R and B attack the wall there were 12y old kid who have been "brainwach" by progaganda there whole lfe not only there were only 12 but they though they atack some devil not innocent people, Eren do the same but he is about 19y old and have seen the memory of enough people 'his own experience inclued) to know there is inocent people here, also a 19y old guy is an adult supose to be a bit more mautre than some 12y old kid, i still get what you said and it is true that he basicly "DO the same thing" but we cant said that the same thing, i can understand a 6y old killing ants by dozaine for no reason, i cant see an adulte do the same thing and vew him the same way, i would judge an adult who doing the same thing cause he is suposed to know better hope it make sens, english isnt my first language

First time watcher here. Oh boy. I’m not ready. It seems like the whole world is going to be against Eren. I wonder what happened during the 4 years we haven’t seen him and the gang. Also, we’ve spent a significant amount of time with Marley. I feel sad that Eren is doing this when he knows there’s innocent people. But like he said, it’s the same as what Reiner and Bertholtd did. Is it right? No. But he was once a kid caught in the crossfire of their mission that spearheaded who he is now. It’s all the same. And it goes back to the question, who’s right and who’s wrong. Is anyone right at all? Or is this just the results of the situations and traumas these characters endured at the hands of other people’s situations and traumas? Eren is a changed man. He’s out for blood like he’s never been before. And it seems like he understands the world and his life. It feels like he’s prepared for whatever; no matter the outcome he GOING to get his revenge. I can’t wait to see all we’ve missed on Paradis from 3 years ago to this very attack. Next episode, here I come.

Kia

Hope the mod take a closer look at that comment

KornSirkel

Remember in the OVA when Annie kicked her fathers leg so hard he suffered permanent damage. Here you can see Mr. Leonhart use a wooden cane. The details never ceases to amaze me!

KornSirkel

"I don't know what victory looks like." Oh Jared...yeah. that's the best way to describe this whole season. Also, keep in mind, we spent 5 episodes learning about Marley. This was all intentional. We're meant to feel conflicted about both sides.

Les

Seeing what yo have seen so far I do think the best choices would be either Code Geass or Oshi no ko. To stay in the realm of something close to realism and focus on making you think and review your morals and thoughts on the world in both cases.

Jean Claude

The word you want is unparalleled

Mike Rees

There was Eldian housing above Eren when he transformed. He was well aware that he was going to kill innocent Eldians (even children was shown) who he saw as fellow brethren in a way, in order to carry out his mission. Eren is on a war path now. And I love that the past 4 episode of Season 4 where we've seen the Eldians from Marley and the backstory of Reiner, together with Eren & Reiner's discussion in the basement; it's more driving home the point that in any conflict or war, the idea of villains and heroes isn't black and white. It's subjective and driven by your point of view or what information is told to you. Eren went through this struggle of viewing his enemies as evil or people acting on orders in order to keep their people safe. This whole season so far is Reiner struggling with reconciling what he did and coming to grips with who the "enemy" really was and how their 'evilness' was nonexistent based on lies and propaganda. Eren Kruger (The Owl) was right: the only truth in this world is that there is no truth. ☝️ Isayama's pen game is crazzyyy! All of the dialogue in this episode was phenomenal—perhaps the best I've come across in an anime so far—the voice acting to match it too. The storytelling is just absolutely amazing.

sushi

You guys picked the perfect place to end your recording session. I hope you both are prepared for next week. 👀👀👀

Eugene Conner

Give people a treat once in a rare while with a random episode drop lol - Should always be AoT S4 episode 5, 6, 7 as a trio. Its just too necessary

Joshua Martinez

That’s kind of a spoiler in my opinion, something they should realise as they watch the show.

Patty

great reaction guys! this is just the beginning of the most insane episodes ever, you’re up for a wild ride!

Lizi Monton

One thing you should know is that Eren is confirming that the "people across the sea" are people. But says he will fight them anyway. Kinda similar to Bertholdt before he transformed into the colossal in season 3. Also he says he is the same as Reiner crossing the ocean and killing because he doesnt have a choice. Very interesting that he himself is now similar to the two people who he accused of 'not being human anymore' and who Eren promised "he would kill them in the worst way possible" back in season 2.

Luke Jacks

Unputdownable for Isayama’s writing! It’s so addictive and engaging it’s impossible to set aside (referring to the manga). The anime version of unputdownable? Binge-worthy!

antionette7

The other word ist godly! 👏💪

A Lynn comment yessss! Glad to know you’re able to catch up when you can 🫂

Kevin

*first time watcher* I caught up with J&J for now :) My oh my, there’s been multiple eye-opening revelations one after another. I had a lot of questions from watching the previous eps, but I wont go into detail here. Figured they will be answered at some point when we least expect, as always. Animation aside (which J&J already mentioned the studio change from ep 1), cant believe how different they look in four years. Took a minute to recognize them but thankfully their voices gave me some indication lol. But still of great quality. This Lady Kiyomi- was she the one in the kimono who saved Udo, the Easterner from Hizuru? In any case, she seem to know something, seeing how she left before the speech even started. A theater production was an excellent way of showcasing the history even to viewers. Interesting that Willy chose to reveal the truth that was passed down to them for the first time, to the audience. How much did he know about Eren Jaegar, and how? Did he know what was coming, or he didnt. Magath and the Marleyan unit seem to be prepared, but surprisingly, the warriors and warrior candidates looked almost clueless. Lol, okay J&J, I personally dont think thats Armin who led Galliard and Pieck to a trap. But not sure if its someone from Paradis or not. Well firstly, maybe Im wrong, but this soldier looks way taller than Armin (no offense to him). Secondly, I dont know if Pieck or Zeke had seen how Armin looked like, back in Shiganshina. He was already charred when they arrived, I thought. This soldier told Zeke to head to the gate. Why? Another trap separately for him? Zeke appeared a little too relaxed imo. Was he really clueless? Pieck was pretty sharp. Did she say anything to the Panzer unit, why did they look shocked? Maybe Im overthinking this, and they may just be revealed in the next few. I assume ‘a person who stole the Founding Titan’ to be Grisha who stole it from Frieda, but the word ‘recent’ is throwing me off. I thought this might already be a known fact to Zeke and Reiner at least. But maybe this is only revealed to everyone now. Or something else happened more recently. Four years is still a pretty long time. What we have seen was Marley’s war with the Mid-East, but I doubt Eren and those in Paradis remained quiet this whole time. Regardless, if Eren finally decided to reveal himself to Reiner now, it only means this attack comes with a plan thought-through, with his comrades nearby. Eren. Yeah, this man is so calm its scary. To think he simply transformed without a care, shows how much he has changed. Im sure its gonna get real nasty in the next few. My last thought: Willy’s earlier convo with Magath on who might be the War Hammer, it may look like hes an ideal one, but I dont think its that straightforward. Till next time when I can 💜🙏🏻

Lynn #7

Willy declared war on Eren’s people J&J so I support whatever monstrosity Eren has planned for them. It seems like as long as the Paradis people are willing to be fodder, then the Marleyans will let them live and oh also steal their resources. And oh also subjugate them. No. They’re willing to kill innocent people for the sins of their ancestors. It’s disgusting. There was no missive of peace, just destruction. Let the Rumbling begin! I wholeheartedly approve

Logede

J&J here are some words for you: Phenomenal, Exceptional, Superior, High-Caliber, First-rate, Glorious, Breath taking, Superb, Exquisite, Solid, Sensational, Immaculate. The anticipation of what’s to come made my hands damp and my heart beat rhythmically strong within. Fear and excitement enveloped my entire body. In my mind were a million theories and what ifs and my body was restless. And yet, I found myself just staring at the screen and glued to my seat. Emotions were rampant. Multiple things happening at once. My fingers acting on their own presses the next episode as if they were commanded by the founding titan himself. And I ended up binge watching until the very end. Season 4, oh season 4, what have you done to me. It was a 10 year long journey and it was worth it. I’m reliving it again. And it’s still worth it!!! I’m excited for next week and the coming week after!!! Wooooh!

Aya

It's begun T.T

Dwob

I'm sorry but I still stand on my opinion. Eren had no choice! Even with the uprising, if Eren decided to come in peace they would have never listened. Does Eren just sit back in Paradis and let Marley attack his home again? Marley declared war against Paradis based on a what if.

Mrs. C

So excited for Monday. Blessed to watch these videos and be a part of such an awesome community! Thanks for the hard work and effort you both put into these reactions, it definitely isn’t being overlooked. Thank you mod for keeping them spoiler free so they can keep giving us these gold reactions. Have a great Sunday 😊 PS: I love how much emphasis you two put in the fact that Eren, the founding titan, came himself to Marley. It really is a big deal! He’s all Marley really needs to defeat Paradis. I also loved that you guys understand the scale of what is happening from the beginning. Eren attacking after the declaration of war does nothing but confirm the threat of Paradis to the entire world. Your empathy shined again in Eren’s transformation moment. I think the conflicting emotions you experienced, along with the fear of what might happen to everyone there if Paradis were to fully unleash their titans, are precisely the feelings Isayama intended for his audience. Also, great job questioning how Armin might feel about this significant plot development, given his thoughtful and introspective nature. I am having way too much fun watching you two :)

IQLou

15 years old eren’s rage is like yapping chihuahua. Ain’t no way that’s scary lol

A J Chandra

The uprising they talking about was the overthrowing of the goverment we saw in season 3 and Eren having the Founding titan.

Arturo Liera Bravo

It is not a spoiler you explained very well

Arturo Liera Bravo

The uprising Willy Tybur is referring to is Grisha taking the founding titan and giving that and the Attack titan to Eren. If it remained in the Fritz (Reiss) family Karl Fritz's desire for peace and renoucment for war would have been maintained. Since Eren has it he's not held by that vow. So there's no guarentee of safety that there would be if someone in the Fritz (Reiss) family was holding it. (Someone tell me if that's a spoiler I don't know if it is)

Lauren Crawford

The word you were looking for is MASTERPIECE!

Wulf

Yeah agreed, theorizing was especially great for S1-3. Now the real show has begun and they just need to key in on details and connect dots 🔥🔥

IQLou

Yeah I remember it clearly. All the political people were using it to fear monger since it was trending. AoT fans were laughing all day. What a time to be alive. AoT S4P1 and Demon Slayer S2 every Sunday 🔥🔥

IQLou

It really is! Are you a first time watcher too?

IQLou

Just so you know, the Eren you know is gone. This Eren is…well I’ll let you see it for yourself! #GOAT

Aj Makaiwi

AHHHHHH YESSS SO EXCITED (calm Eren literally gave me whiplash watching for the first time lmao)... I feel so bad but am also jealous of people who got to experience this masterpiece through a 10 year journey, its so special.

Okay okay okay okay.....I CAAAN FINAAALLY give my thoughts. I have been sick and dealing with so much so I haven't been able to say anything. Life has been hard honestly but these reactions are just worth a small bit of joy. I mean wow!! The writing......wow! I am so speechless how well done it is. I was so nervous watching three episodes. In this ep, I was so anxious. The tension was so well put together. What I love so much is the tension is not over done. It's not overwhelming, but it gives the right amount of hints without truly giving hints. Like you know something is going to happen but it don't have to go what you think. Isayama done a great job of taking away expectations that even moments that might feel predictable doesn't feel possible. There's something I learned in creative writing class (one of my favorite classes) and it's that a story should always know when to keep you. Think about tug of war, aot is on the left and the viewers is on the right. AOT sometimes tugs hard on the rope to the point we are trying our hardest to pull back but can't. But THEN (this I love) it LET us pull them as if it seems we are winning (basically we understand or know) but actually AOT is controlling it all. It let us think we know then let us know that we don't truly know anything. SOOO good. Because that means there's no expectations or things we think we know but rather we have to find out, learn and see. Why I say this is because Isayama trusts the audience. He knows we aren't dumb but rather he lays out the puzzle for us and let us put it together and once it unfolds we are at COMPLETE AWE at the picture. Usually the picture was always there, we just had to gather it's pieces. INSAAANE. Right now I'll speak on the writing not yet the cinematography (THOUGH I HAVE A LOT TO SAY BC WOW). But I don't want to bore anyone and don't want this to be too long. But oh my am I loving this! But I'm scared too but maybe that's a good thing. 🫣

Peach

A few things. The uprising on paradi Willy mention is not referring to something that’s happened in the last few years, but to Grisha taking the Founding Titan from the royal family and passing it on to his son Eren. That’s why Willy names Eren as the usurper of the uprising. Also, Eren points to the people directly above him to either warn Reiner against transforming, which would kill his fellow Eldians above (men, women, and children), or warn Reiner against doing something to provoke Eren to transform (like attack or signal an alarm), resulting in the same effect. Since Eren transformed anyways, he killed the many men, women, and children in the building. These were probably Eldians because they had terrible seats to the show, whereas Marleyans and ppl from other countries were in the central seats and the Marleyan brass were in the bleachers. :)

Tortellini

Eren telling Reiner he's just like him and he will keep moving forward, really one of my favorite parts. they both had chances to stop, turn around, not push forward, but Reiner made his choice and Eren is here to tell him to his face that he is making the same choice.

fox

I saw your comment on one of their haikyuu vids, both reactions are getting hype 🔥

Helpy

You guys are about to see soon why Eren Jaeger is considered as one of the best protagonists in anime.. and why the show itself is one of the best shows (understatement) out there

its_aliza

He let Willy declare the war on his people first before making a move

its_aliza

Yes that's true. The millions of titans phrase is just an over exaggeration for the purpose of the play. According to this post there's 232,467 colossal titans in all the walls: https://www.reddit.com/r/titanfolk/comments/l2qo4n/how_many_colossal_titans_are_inside_the_walls_i/?rdt=41052

Jay

Even though Willy Tybur said the Walls contain tens of millions of Colossal Titans, that statement is somewhat misleading. There is only 1 Colossal Titan, currently possessed by Armin. The titans in the walls are Abnormal, Pure Titans called Wall Titans. The reason Willy called them colossal is because they happen to be roughly the same size as the Colossal Titan. Hope this helps, and thank you J&J for the amazing reaction as always!

Sidarth

Reiner: "Just kill me Eren" Eren: "Lmao Nah" Willy: "I don't want to die" Eren: *Challenge Accepted* And the cherry on top is Eren has the dignity to let Willy finish his speech before transforming!

Jay

MASTERPIECE! And trust me, theorizing is fun, but you will never be able to predict what will happen - you won't be able to do it 10000%.

Maka

Fun fact about this episodes name: According to the people who were there while these episodes were being released weekly, on Twitter, "Declaration of War" was trending and apparently everyone who didn't know about aot was panicking because they thought it was WW3 or something 😂

Jay

Do you guys remember how Marco said to Reiner, Bert and Annie (Right before he was eaten): "We haven't even had a chance to talk this through" For the first time in this entire show, we see 2 people from the 2 sides of the conflict just sit down next to each other and talk. No bullshit lies, no fake sympathy, just complete raw emotion and the simple truth from each of them. And in hindsight, none of them are fighting for the betterment of the world or to "save the world", rather their motive is selfish, and they have convinced themselves that what they've done (Reiner in the past, Eren in the present) is for everyone, when in reality it's just for themselves. But unfortunately it seems like it's too late to talk it out. Eren's decision has been made, and he's following through on it. War is inevitable now.

Jay

sighhh

tanasia (BAKUGreatestofalltime)

Jordan and Jared thank you for the amazing videos keep up with the good work ! from now on you will see the real Eren Yeager !!!

Andre Caldeira

This is definitely the best show I've ever seen!!!!! its driving me insane! amazing... just astonishing. I can't wait to see what happens next OMG

Flor M.

The “uprising” Willy referred to was when Grisha stole the Founding Titan & gave it to Eren. Eren’s missing leg wasn’t from infighting on Paradis, but he needed to look the part of a wounded soldier

zamar 🤍

"God Tier" writing

also, i think it would be cool to have a live watch party for the final chapters, might work with how long they are. it would be a fun way to close out this one of a kind show with yall. either way IM BIG HYPED

silly goose

When Eren is not yelling at you with rage on his face while standing on business still, he is somehow 10 times scarier 🤣🤣🤣 ain't that crazy?

Randy Flash

nice to meet truly meet you Eren Jaeger. LES GO.

silly goose

One thing overlooked in this episode is how important the first scene is. Annie at first says she thinks the hanged man wanted to be forgiven, but Bert points out that what he actually wanted was to be judged. Reiner has spent the past 4 years having to hate himself alone. Everyone around him praises him as the heroic armored Titan that made it back from Paradis, as the shield of Marley. But, when you hate yourself to the degree Reiner does and have to live with that with no one to talk to, it gets incredibly lonely. Seeing Eren, we see Reiner beg to be judged several times. He tries to remind Eren about his vow to make them suffer. He even gets on his knees and tells Eren everything is his fault, hoping there’d finally be someone else to share in his hatred for himself. It’s one of the weirdest cases of irony I’ve ever seen written, in that by Eren forgiving Reiner, he’s actually doing the exact opposite of what Reiner is desperately asking for. Eren’s forgiveness is both beautiful and cruel.

Kevin

Stopping on episode 5 is painful! I hope you guys are ready for what is coming next. To help any confusion: the first half of season 3 is titled “The Uprising Arc”. The king was replaced and the citizens of Paradis were told about the outside world, making them a threat.

Jordan Cobb

I fully second that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood suggestion!!

Cartoonosaurus

Hi! Thank you for your wonderful amazing reaction like always! I can't forget the time this episode was aired, the trend "Declaration of war" was in twitter for many countries and people who didn't know about this show was so shocked of it.(Of course they would) Oh and I don't know you remember or not, but way back in season 1, I remember I comment, "You mustn't believe in everything the characters say, because some of them might lie in this show". As a real life, many of them says things only they want to say or lie as they want to lie. Please don't forget about that. (But, there are people telling the truth too. Like our real life!) I live near by where Isayama was born, and the city there has so much contents of AOT and Isayama.(Like statue of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, and also statue of Levi, etc...) When you finish the show, you must come visit, it's something good to experience! I'll guide you if you need! lol I'm so curious to see what will your reactions will be to these following episodes! Can't wait!! Have fun and take care!

hiro ame

I was vibrating on the edge of my seat for this 🫨. Now I have to wait until Monday again 😔. Anyway, when you’re done with AOT, my recommendations are one of these 3: 1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 2. Tokyo Ghoul 3. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion They are different genres, but they dark and deep at their core. Looking forward to next week!

ARMY_Maenad

Jordan: "i feel bad for them" Jared: "for who?" Jordan: "for the brothas" 🤣

gdnsx

I’m sure you’ll get a thousand comments on this, but I don’t see it yet. The uprising on Paradis that Willy is referring to is everything that happened with Grisha stealing the founding Titan and in S3P1, when our guys usurped the government/Reiss family. And the best word I can think of for the writing is the word you guys came into the show with, a masterpiece. Now that we’re well into Season 4, I’d be curious if you guys could have guessed how crazy and intricate this show would be when you started, and your only information was a bunch of internet strangers saying, “It’s a masterpiece!” and “Don’t look up anything about the show!”. AoT is so good, it’s hard to put into words for new watchers just how insane it is. Watching AoT is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Kevin

The thing that really blows with this episode is that tomorrow is Sunday

The writing of this show is supreme, exquisite, perfect. I love the tension in this episode the whole time Eren was speaking with Reiner.

It's time for that Sunday drop to kick in 😂

Helpy

I can't believe we have to wait till Monday for the next episode 😭😭 I love this transformation ❤️

Kenken

I can not wait until monday bro😭😭😭😭

Emanuel 2

just to clear some things up: lightning is a typical effect of a titan transforming, the fact it was touching reiner’s hand doesn’t have anything to do with it, and reiner left eren’s hand to try to shield falco, since a titan transformation in a small space would destroy everything and the people in it. same reason why pieck and galliard didn’t transform. if any of them did, the other would die because they’re in a small space. Also: War Hammer, Beast, Jaw, Cart and Armored - Marley has indeed 5 titans.

KariaP

The story telling in this show is unfathomable and it only gets better

Jordy_EMS

One of the best eps

Willy: I Declare War!!! Eren: Alright bet.. (immediately responds) Eren literally waited for his enemy to declare war first to make his attack on them😭😭
