Only subjects of Ymir (Eldians) can become titans and if an Eldian inherits one of the nine titans, they are given status of warrior/honorary Marleyan. But in case of the warhammer titan it was mentioned in the ep that the Tyburs have it and it has not been sent on enemy soil for battle

Berthold dies, Zeke, Reiner and Pieck retreat from the Battle of Shiganshina. 851 - Eren and Armin see the sea. 854 - Present day in this episode. Also I couldn't help but laugh when you guys are figuring out if the Cart Titan was introduced yet, and the screen is paused with Pieck laid down on the couch ( she was so used to being on all fours all the time ).

2024-05-16 03:49:23 +0000 UTCOne thing to point out about Reiner's discussion with his family about his time on the island is the manner in which he speaks on his time with the "devils" there. He tries to make the things that they do sound much worse than they really are in an attempt to play towards the expectations his family has, but all he ends up doing is just saying they're normal people that act in a similar way to everyone in Liberio which shocks his family. The window then opens because Reiner, through this conversation, has basically suggested that the "Island Devils" are no different to the Eldians and Marleans so he's "opened" a new to think about the people on the island. But when Mrs Braun goes and closes the window, she basically reinforces the racist beliefs and insists everyone on the island is "bad Eldian" and are still devils, thus "closing" this new way to think about Eldians.

2024-05-16 01:43:28 +0000 UTCi know there's a million breakdowns already but i'm hoping mine might be all inclusive (without spoilers): 1. founding titan- eren jaeger holds it currently. was previously held by grisha jaeger. previously held by reiss family (frieda, uri, etc) 2. attack titan- eren jaeger holds it currently. was previously held by grisha and before that, was held by eren kruger. 3. jaw titan- currently held by porco "pock" galliard. pock is a nickname for galliard that he doesn't much care for. previously held by scout ymir. previously held by marcel galliard before that. porco and marcel are brothers. 4. cart titan- currently held by pieck finger. 5. beast titan- currently held by zeke jaeger. no previously known holders at this time. chosen successor of beast titan is colt grice, brother of falco grice. 6. armoured titan- currently held by reiner braun. the currently competitors to inherit the armoured titan are gabi braun (reiner's cousin), and falco grice. 7. colossal titan- currently held by armin arlert. previously held by berthold hoover. 8. war hammer titan- currently held by the tybur family. 9. female titan- currently held by annie leonhart. lots of layers to unpack, can't say much else without spoilers. can't wait for the rest of season four. love you guys!!

2024-05-16 01:25:35 +0000 UTCMy feelings for Reiner always get so conflicted. Before we see how life in Marley is, it's easy to hate him. He helped destroy so many lives on Paradis, however, once you realize he was brainwashed (like his family) to believe the island people were evil it's hard to blame him. Then his time on the island obviously caused conflict within himself. He joined the Scouts and is finally accepted. With exception of living life inside a wall, he wasn't mistreated or looked down upon for simply existing unlike in Marley, where the Elidians are segregated because of their race. On Paradis he was just another human trying to survive. I think this causes conflict for him and is why he is conflicted. It's clear he wants to make his comrades on the island seem evil to prove a point to his family, however, I don't believe he truly thinks their evil and that's why his description of Sasha or his other comrades comes off kind of satirical. He can't find anything really bad to say about them except for the potato story or just general descriptions of them. He is the only one that made it back alive from the island and the only person in Marley who has lived with the "devils" of Paradis and so I think for him he's trying to be what his family and Marley expects him to, however, inside he knows that the Elidians on the island are the same as them. I am sooooo ready for the rest of the season. I have only seen 1 more episode and then the rest will all be my first time viewing and I am so happy to be going down that journey with yall 😊💜

2024-05-16 01:18:31 +0000 UTCthe room with the giant hole in the ceiling when marley was having a meeting was somewhere in fort slava which they captured from the mid east alliance in ep 1. and also to clarify the person who jumped off the roof .. it was a random eldian soldier with ptsd from hearing the thunder go off. its just to show the horrors of war and how they effect people when they finally get home. think you got the rest of the nuance of this episode tho. esspecially with reiner at the dinner table. props. cant wait for episode 3.

There's also some similarities between the new cast of kids and the current one: for example, Falco reminds me of Reiner, Gabi of Eren, Udo looks a bit like Bertholdt and Zofia looks like Annie, and they are both reserved and don't speak that much lol.

2024-05-15 22:10:33 +0000 UTCSome clarification about the Nine Titans. The Jaw Titan referenced in episode 2 is the same titan as scout Ymir. Marcel was the original Jaw Titan back when he was a part of the warriors who infiltrated Paradis Island with Bertholdt, Annie, and Reiner. Ymir ate Marcel and therefore became the Jaw Titan, then when she returned to Marley with Reiner and Bertholdt, she was eaten by Galliard for the Marley Military to retake the Jaw Titan. Pieck is also the Quadruped Titan that saved Zeke in the assault to take back Shiganshina and was on the battlefield in episode 1 with the machine guns mounted on her back. She hinted to this in episode 2 by saying she hasn't been a human in two months, and she has forgotten how to walk as a bipedal. The breakdown of the known status of the Nine Titans is this (C stands for current vessel); Female Titan (C Annie Leonhart), Colossal Titan (Bertholdt Hoover, and C Armin Arlert), Attack Titan (Eren Kruger, Grisha Yeager, and C Eren Yeager), Founding Titan (Rod Reiss' father, Uri Reiss, Frida Reiss, Grisha Yeager and C Eren Yeager), Armored Titan (C Reiner Braun and possibly Gabi after), Beast Titan (C Royal Blood Zeke Yeager and possibly Colt after), Quadruped Titan (C Pieck), Jaw Titan (Marcel, Scout Ymir, and C Galliard), War Hammer Titan (C someone in the Tybur Family). It would be interesting for you guys to rewatch the series after to see your guys' reactions to all the foreshadowing that the show does with certain scenes. There were a few in S4E1 and a lot in S4E2 of what's to come in the remainder of the show. You guys have given me something to watch every day for months now, and I've been loving every second of it. 2024-05-15 21:33:04 +0000 UTCOoooh that info overload isn’t letting you breathe one sec in early season 4 :’) A few clarifications/confirmations for you: You got it, Reiner and Gabi are cousins! And yes, if you remember Reiner’s last name, it’s Braun. So vice chief Braun is Reiner, he’s second to war chief Zeke in the Marleyan titan unit. And I don’t think Falco and Colt are Grice’s sons, because Grice was sent to Paradise over 20 years ago and Falco is around 14, but maybe nephews or something like that? But they’re from the same family. About the honorary Marleyan citizenship, they obtain it for themselves and their parents only once they become titan warriors, and it’s represented by the red armbands. That’s why you can see one on the arm on Reiner’s mom even though she’s not a titan, she’s an honorary Marleyan. They still have to live in the internment zone though, but I suppose they get a few privileges (on the train back to Liberio, the titan unit/honorary Marleyans could be on the same nice wagons as the higher ups instead of the crowded cattle wagon the Eldian soldiers were in). And I think you’ve figured it out, but the yellow armbands are for warrior candidates, and there’s only five of them: Falco, Colt, Gabi, Udo and Zofia. The soldier you saw jump from the roof is unknown to us, simply another victim of war trauma. In this season especially the show does a very good job at depicting the horrors of war in different ways. And finally, the titans! They’ve all been named now, and you’ve encountered 8 of them (though two were only named once, and I think you missed/forgot about the name of one of them). Here’s the list 😊 - Attack titan - Eren - Founding titan - Eren - Colossal titan - Armin - Armoured titan - Reiner - Beast titan - Zeke - Jaw titan - Galliard, who got it from Ymir, who got it from Marcel. Ymir was the Jaw titan, remember her sharp pointy teeth in titan form? - Cart titan – The name was mentioned during the fight for Fort Slava, it’s the “quadrupede” and it is held by Pieck, who said she lost the “bipedal” habit of walking on two legs because she stayed in titan form for 2 months in a row. They let you guess that one with these clues, the hair colour, and the fact that she has a red armband and is with the titan unit, and the quadrupede is the only titan controlled by Marley whose vessel hasn’t been properly introduced yet - Female titan - Last vessel known is Annie, even if as you said, we haven’t seen her in a while - War Hammer titan - Someone in the Tybur family, unknown Also, may I suggest you have a kind of “extended” recording session when you get to episode 5? That would make for a shorter recording session before that with only 2 episodes, but you might want to watch episodes 5-6-7-8 in a single sitting (for your own good, hehe). Hope your brains areN’T melted yet (there, spelled it correctly this time, I’m no spy!!) The Jaw titan - currently in the possesion of Porco Galliard (His surname is Galliard not his name) The jaw titan used to be Ymir's titan because she ate Porcos brother Marcel who had that power as you know. You said "We still don't know what titan Ymirs titan was". That was the Jaw. The design looks a bit different than Ymir's jaw titan right? Ymir didn't have a strong white skull jaw on her like Porco did. There are many theories on that we don't know the real reason for that design difference. 8. The Cart titan - currently in the possesion of Pieck (they mentioned the titans name last episode which i think you missed). Which is the titan you saw saved Zeke last season from Levi and wears a backpack on it's back! Crawling on legs. The reason why she needs a walking stick is because she had been in that titan form for 2 months (because of the war with the mid-east allies you saw last episode). Anyway she was in titan form for 2 months and had a bit of a hard time trying to walk as a human again. I saw you guys got confused over who that was or it's name so i wanted to clarify And last but not least 9. This is the first time we hear of the War Hammer Titan. The Cart and the Jaw have been explained already. The people who inherit it become one of the Nine, even if it's a different version.
