2024-05-10 14:08:07 +0000 UTCI feel like a lot of the time, y'all place more significance on text rather than delivery in dialogue. Repeating a character's line while changing the delivery can completely change its meaning. While AOT does go hard a lot of the time, most of its themes are grim and so - in turn - pieces of dialogue, while on their own sound cool, if you consider the context and the delivery it's usually not the happiest. I bring this up because I've noticed y'all have a tendency of pausing to repeat lines, but you'll growl and talk about how cool it makes a character instead of considering the context under which its being said. 'Who is saying this, To whom, and Why?' are also important questions to consider. It's a small, insignificant thing, but once you learn to view scenes hollistically, they start to feel a lot less one dimensional. Going into Season 4, having those questions in mind will be really helpful when trying to discern character motivations.

2024-05-10 06:46:28 +0000 UTC*first time watcher* After the barrage of emotions we’ve just experienced, I too, appreciate the pace, transition and beautiful imagery in the first half of this ep, allowing us to process all that has happened, accept and move on to whats next- the basement. Armin- yeah, that memory. Not sure if it meant anything or not, but I wonder if this is what the others saw or had memories of, particularly the Titan’s image. Gosh, just nine out of a hundred (or so) survived 🫢. Poor Armin, his face said it all. Did they put Erwin’s body in one of the undestroyed houses, and not bring him back with them? Hange’s eye- man I hope its temporary, shes the new commander now. Sasha as well, shes in alot of pain 😣. That shoe was shown in the glitch scene right? 😂 Thank you Levi 😂 for saving us from the agony when Eren couldnt open the door, and also realising the false bottom 😮💨. So three books. And, 🫢 a photograph. Something these guys dont know about. In that photograph, that looks like Grisha, the same woman shown in the glitch scene and a young child. Cant tell their hair color but Grisha’s one looks darker than the other two. Omg could that child be Zeke? If Zeke is indeed Eren’s half-brother? 🫢 👀 Have we just been transported into another world with armbands, concrete ground and..airships? Yeah, this was when Grisha was young, so what will it look like now? “Where does the airship bring people?”- well we didnt see horses or carriages (yet)…🤔 Oh yet again, more questions..but excited 💜🙏🏻

2024-05-10 04:05:26 +0000 UTCFirst time watching here. I finally was able to watch. First thing, I agree with you guys. This episode was much needed breather. Yeah we were anxious for the basement but it wasn't like sitting at the edge of my seat, praying no one would die. If this episode was crazy like that, it'd just be too much back to back. This was refreshing. I found the flashbacks and the color of Shiganshina soo beautiful. The beauty amongst the ruins. It's was a strong symbol of the resilience of life and humility. No matter what, those small beauties will remain. I loved it. That last scene of them finding the photograph, for some reason made me emotional. When Grisha's narration of his life outside the walls started, I felt like crying. Idk. I feel like his story is about to be both beautiful but gut wrenching as well. If he indeed never returned after leaving that gate, we already know he's been through more than we can probably imagine. And his sister, Fay, I'm ready to see what she's about and what could've happened to her.

They are now seen the future in the past by finding out that back when grissa was young things were more modern than everything they know today. Think about it. They still ride horses and this people used to fly. Now we find out is not a story about the past but about isolation. Mind blowing writing with just simple details used at the right time.

Then the scene with Grisha at the end, where we see the airship…suddenly AOT was elevated to one of the most incredible shows I’d ever seen. From here on out it gets crazy and everything still to come is what pushed it into the status of best show ever made for me. Now you’ll get to see why so many of us have called it a masterpiece. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

2024-05-09 21:57:01 +0000 UTCtheir minds are gonna be blown when they rewatch aot and see all the foreshadowing the show has given since ep 1 that humans lived outside the walls. the to be continued screen being a map. with 2 land masses and a sea in between them. and then the cans in utgard castle… containing herring… a fish only found in the ocean… or the fact they they didnt know about coffee.. both likely brought by zeke. also shocked they didnt question who was in the photos but thankfully thats explained. just have to keep moving forward. it only gets crazier from here

So, you mentioning the armbands and nazis is probably what the author was going for.
