Oh. It's nothing wrong with being emotional. It's only wrong if we allow our emotions to paralyze our decision. I am very emotional. I cry many times. I lived in a house of 3 brothers and one sister. If I cry and a person sees that as weak, they be rudely mistaken. Some says I'm kinda an empath. Being emotional allows us to act with kindness and not force or cold approach. The problem with some leaders are that they aren't emotional enough. World thinks that emotions are weak but emotions aren't weak. It is true strength. Emotions are energy. I still find it annoying how many fans still complain about Armin being chosen over Erwin. I don't either is the better choice. I think it's a loss to humanity no matter who was chosen. what you guys felt during this episode is totally relatable 😭❤️‍🩹 this is my favorite AOT episode and for a reason. idk, to me, anime will always be about how it makes me feel. how connected i get to the characters, how attached i get to them and how i relate to what they go through or how they feel. at the end, my fave animes have always been those who managed to get me hooked on the characters haha (aot being one of them ofc) so when i watched this episode for the first time… i couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. i never saw an anime killing two of my fave characters in such a brutal way BACK TO BACK. like there was really no time to breathe 😫 and idk everything about this episode feels so heavy, so cold, and so sad. as you said, i couldn’t even be happy about the fact that they managed the impossible, taking down 3 titans. that’s why this is my fave AOT and overall anime episode ever, because it made me feel emotions i never knew i could feel for a piece of media. and i’m not the only one who thought that. this episode, 3x17 “Hero” was rated as the best episode ever in a tv series in imbd for a long time, with a rating of 10/10. it actually kept fighting for the #1 spot with the Breaking Bad episode “Ozymandias” which we know is also a masterpiece.

I held it together pretty okay I think, up until Jordan's reaction at 1:01:37 an 1:01:53.. every time he would look at the screen, he looked so overwhelmed and that's a feeling we all can relate to, after watching this incredible episode. No other show has ever made me feel so much emotion for characters like AOT. They feel so real to me because they're so relatable. Armin especially, being super smart but also fighting through his insecurities because many times, he has a hard time believing in himself, although everyone else believes him.

first time watcher …let me go calm down and rewatch this on Netflix first… . . . I hate Isayama for making me feel like this, but I love Isayama for this masterpiece. The sheer intensity from start to end shook me to my core. I could feel everything. From Levi’s rage..to Eren’s grief. I feel the same. This is unbelievable. I cant even feel happy about the fact that these incredible soldiers just took down three powerful Titans simultaneously. And I dont know what to feel about Erwin who got hit. Or the bleeding Hange who suddenly appeared to help take down R. Or Sasha who got hurt. Or seeing Armin. Im still mind blown by what happened.. I wish I could enjoy watching J&J’s reaction. I wish I could appreciate the animation and music. But I cant do that fully. Not now at least. Maybe. deep breaths In order to take these three Titans down, the common plan was to make a diversion/ stall for time, and everyone else to go ALL in with every ounce of energy, gas, signal, weapon, body and mind. The ultimate sacrifice and trust in the others to do whatever it takes, to bring them down. sigh Give it to the new recruits who pushed thru, despite seeing Erwin down at first barrage. With overwhelming fear, they could have just stopped, but they didnt. Give it to Levi, who didnt give up and slayed the Beast, ripping him off and instilling that fear and panic in Zeke. YES, this is the one man anyone human, or Titan, or King would need to look out for. Give it to Armin, who showed no ounce of fear to Jean and Mikasa, to give them the confidence. And to lie to Eren, to do the same. Give it to the Levi squad, who trusted in Armin and in that pressure, ensured that R did not get to Eren and Armin. Truely heroic. All of them. How are they all gonna handle the post-trauma? That is gonna be a living hell. sigh I dont know what to feel now. I cant write anymore. 😣💜🙏🏻

I don't know if yall remember but you read my comment in an older video and I mentioned I was showing my mother AoT. Well she finished it, and now I can't mention the show without her crying. She's still so emotional anytime I mention the show. This woman is in her 40s, almost 50. She has gone through so much pain and trauma in her life, she birthed me very young and dealt with so much. Now, I can not mention the show to her without her getting emotional. This woman with a heart of steel who has watched all the most emotional movies/shows without a single tear, has been touched so deeply by this anime that the walls around her heart crumble at the thought of it. Just want to share just how impactful this will be for you guys and any of the first time watchers out there.

I think the best shows are when they make you sooooooo attached to the characters, their personalities and their backstories, making you feel like you know them personally or you relate to them....that when anything bad happens to them, it shatters you to pieces. .............. Where to start? I....am...done atp. What a episode, what a show, what a victory. I wanted to speak on the writing as well as some cinematography. How this episode played with wording was brilliant. It felt like a battle but peace Armin dealt with in the plan he made. The strategic plan Jean thought of to stop Reiner. These things is what make writing my heart and joy. It hit me hearing Armin say he can see the sea for us. GUDFGHJFF This is why writing is so important. The emotions that I feel right now still though I watched this episode is unreal almost since I feel so protective of these characters. I'm so protective of them that I want none of them to die. However, in this type of world, there will be sacrifice as Armin always said. He ATE HIS WORDS. Erwin being a leader and that speech being the best I've heard EVER IN TV is a testament of what happens when a writer loves their work. ISAAAYAAAAMMAAA! Cinematography keeps blowing me away. I just don't understand why it's soo good. What I loved is when Jean was discussing the plan it showed each of the characters simultaneously. And those quick close up shots was A1. You can feel that the 4 was not playing at all. Some of the wide shots were brilliant. Eye level shots BRILLIANT. That shot of Armin and Eren as a Titan looking at Bertholdt. CHILLS. As I said they dont fail with how they show pannings. The Beast throwing the boulders at the TRUE WARRIORS was astounding. Almost give you this sense of defeat. Levi coming out of the shadows and DID YALL SEE HOW THE CAMERA WAS ON THE BEAST TITAN WHEN HE SAW LEVI AND 'ROARED' AT HIM THEN IT POSITIONS JUST RIGHT WITH LEVI?! AHSSGGSGSGSV the studio was on something when they did this show!!! I am so proud of how how far we all have gotten as a community in this and how far J&J got in this. I'm just honored by Erwin and Armin. ARMIN IS THE GOAT PERIOD AND THAT IS A TRUE WARRIOR, BERTHOLDT!! I said what I said this show is undefeated and the best in history and now I see why it's loved in the anime community AS IT SHOULD BE.

First time watcher here. ……Armin can’t be dead. (I say as I just watched him die). But no for real, I’m not allowing myself to believe he’s dead. I’m sorry but they set up that syringe Levi got too much for it not to be used on somebody like Armin. Pls don’t debunk my thinking if I’m wrong, I’ll see for sure in the next episode. Levi couldn’t use it on Erwin or any random soldier when he had the beast titan. But now they have Bertholtd in their hands. Like Levi said , he could use it on somebody on the brink of death and feed them an intelligent Titan like he was contemplating with Zeke. That would heal them, and essentially bring them back. Couldn’t there be a chance that Armin could be barely alive? Like on the last inch of life someone could be on. While it’s completely unrealistic someone would survive that, maybe he has like a teeny tiny bit of life in him. The brink of death. Couldn’t Levi use the syringe and feed him Bertholtd if that’s the case. I don’t think Armin would like being a titan, especially not the colossal. He’d rather die but I just can’t fathom it going any other way. When Levi was talking about injecting someone when he had Zeke, I don’t think that thought being made was for nothing. Who is the syringe for if not for a situation like this. I can’t fathom and process the possibility of Armin just actually being dead. It’s ARMIN. He can’t just die like that. Losing Erwin AND Armin is too much. The only way I’m believing they not bouta bring him back with the syringe is if he’s just already gone or too far gone for it to be effective. But then again I’m thinking about the glitch scene. And motions were high in that scene so Armin is most likely dead and I just gotta face it. first things first. erwins speech in dub is godly. glad you played it again. also rip marlo who was thinking about hitch before he died. and since we are rewatching key scenes when necessary. i say we should rewatch levi taking down the beast again because that was some of the best animation in anime history. levi telling him to answer his question while he sticks the sword down his throat even farther. poetic justice. also i want to point out that armins body burnt to a crisp was flashed during that creepy post credits scene in ep 12 for about .1 seconds. crazy. also hange showing up with that last thunder spear was huge. last thing i want to say is… its super fitting that eren was the one to take out bert. I believe that there is a scene in season 1 episode 16 that foreshadowed this. (if you are interested - its around the 5.30 mark). Annie asked a question "if someone told you to die, would you?". Connie said "of course not" but Armin replied "I think that if I understand the reason for dying, there might be a time where Its necessary to do that, I wouldn't like it though". I don't even know where to begin with this episode 😭 this is one of my most favorite episodes in the series and even if I watch it for 1000 times, it will still make me cry. I had fallen asleep but I have no idea how I woke up 12 minutes after you both uploaded the reaction and here I am watching it. Idk how Isayama did it but losing Armin actually felt like I lost someone very close and precious to me.. like you can actually feel Eren's pain on a personal level. Armin's sacrifice has a much greater impact on me maybe because we have seen his brilliance, intelligence and selflessness along with his great character development and backstory from the very start.. I mean he is one of the 3 main characters of this show! After showing Armin's burnt body falling down they immediately show us that Hange is still alive as if to give us some sort of relief from that trauma 😢😢 Also the scene with Levi taking down the beast titan.. you guys remember how we have seen Levi slice up a titan so brutally like that only once before this? And that was in his OVA when he lost Farlan and Isabel.. the two people who were the closest to him. Seeing Erwin get hit and fall to the ground must have triggered the same feeling inside Levi. The man so easily pulled out monkey boy and would have definitely ended him if it wasn't for the Platypus titan (yes I used to call it that XD)

Even though I cried when I first watched this episode years ago (and even on the rewatches) because it is such an epic, powerful and extremely sad scene, I think you might experience some moments to be even more sad, cruel and gut-wrenching. Not a spoiler though!! Just an opinion of mine, I guess it depends on which characters you love and relate to the most! So buckle up your tear-belts cause them emotions will be racing!

I forgot how brutal/powerful this arc was and I know its hard but i lowkey want you guys to rewatch Armins plan/sacrifice scene just to take in how good (COLD) it was...glad you guys rewatch after.....its definetely smth else in the rewatch when you take everything in even more. I feel like AoT levels up your trauma-endurance with every episode. My first time watching, I was sitting for 10 minutes frozen at to be continued on the verge of tears. The next episode was even more cruel. Yall will survive it together.

This episode played with my emotions in so many ways. We felt the leadership fire from erwin, excitement, rage and focus from levy, heroism, sacrifice and love from armin. It had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. This is why this show is so good.
