The very last scene of this episode always hits so much harder in dub for me, Reiner actually screams “I don’t want to die!” You can’t help but feel sorry for him. 😭 I’m sure by the time you see this comment you will have rewatched in dub, I’m wondering if you felt the same way.

Two very skilled and strong females. Eren said he not losing his home for a second time. At least not without the fight of his life. IKTR!! Y’all not bouta drive them out again R&B. I’m so anxious about where Bertholtd is and when he’s gonna pop up. As well as when the beast will attack and what’s inside that bag that other Titan is holding. Genius Erwin with protecting the horses. Anyways, not much to say this episode, I just can’t wait til the next one!!

I know Erwin is showing a selfish side lately, but think...without him humanity wouldn't have made it this far. Erwins goals and humanities have been completely aligned, without someone like Erwin leading would they be here, now with Eren? All those people who have died did die for humanity, no matter how guilty Erwin may be making himself feel.

This may not be directly related, but one theory I like is that for a long time the Scouts served as a very convenient way to get rid of dissenters. It was basically a free way to get all the people who wanted to see outside the walls to volunteer to basically go die. I think once Erwin joined, they probably assumed he’d die soon anyway. Then they underestimated him too long as a leader. Also Sannes was the one who was doing most of the dirty work back then. Kenny was the one during the Historia debacle. So maybe Sannes draws the line at children while Kenny doesn’t 🤷‍♂️

*first time watcher* No way…I mean thats a powerful weapon but I dont believe R would die from that. Seriously wounded, likely. I have to see it for myself first. Well this was an explosive episode, with more questions again 😅 1. So A has this hardening ability as well? ‘Mastered hardening in two months’? Maybe part of what Intelligent Titans have, can do or maybe not.. 2. This quadruped type Titan which Erwin thinks its the enemy’s scout. Protruding mouth, but nicely shaped lips and eyelashes lol. Yea, what could be inside 2 barrels and several crates..the other titans look interesting as well 😂 3. Levi saying that to Erwin with a straight face, was lowkey funny 😂 4. Ugh the way he removed that sword. But more imptly “If I was any slower transferring my consciousness to my body” 😱 regenerative ability aside, I cant imagine how else they can die, other than being eaten 5. Eren more fired up + that strategy with the thunder spears 💣, still scary 😅. But I still think its not that easy. The initial hesitation by Connie and Sasha, and Jean pulling them out of it- its moments like these that makes you feel what they feel. 6. Erwin’s ability to think calmly under pressure, then his inner thoughts and his ultimate goal. Wow. Alot to take in. That image of piled up dead scouts with him standing on top, haunting. But his stare back at A, intimidating 🔥. Just watching this man alone throws me off lol, in a good way. New recruits grasping the reality of this and protecting those horses, that terrifying sight of the perimeter with the War Chief just smiling there, B not seen up at this point, and this whole situation 😮‍💨 Till next ep 💜🙏🏻

I never understood why the interior Police didnt get rid of Erwin alongside his dad, I mean the guy was telling big secrets of the walls and we have seen they dont care if he is a children by the way they was going to kill historia, plus he continued telling the story as a scout member, even Nile heard about it back then so more reason to off him! I'm always moved by the scene of Connie and Sasha's reaction and hesitation when Hange says that it's time to finish off Reiner. In spite of everything they have learned about the traitors, they still can't detach the traitor image from Reiner their friend, the protecting "big brother" to everyone (even Eren has a flashback of their training days). They have a strong bond with Reiner. I think Jean feels the same way, deep inside he doesn't want to do it but he knows they have to, and reminds them that they need to do it if it comes to it. Jean brings determination in both Connie and Sasha to get the job done. Such an incredible little scene, showing the humans beneath the soldiers.

Reiner's "Wait" at the end was sad because he didn't realise his former comrades had resolved their mind to kill him. But it's also sad seeing Sasha and Conny still hesitating after all this time. They still care about him a bit, even if he's their enemy.

It’s okay to call dark imagery beautiful. The manga panel of Erwin standing atop the pile of his comrade’s corpses is one of my favorite (I’m glad it made the animation cut). The piece is a deep, grotesque visual characterization of Erwin’s career as a soldier. The panel and my visceral reaction to it remind me of a favorite quote: “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” -Cesar A. Cruz The panel moves me in a variety of ways; especially out of my comfort zone. Beautiful art it is! Thank you, gentlemen, for another great reaction. Will be in pain until tomorrow’s drop!😆

uggghh yall don't even know 😭 like absolutely these episodes are intense and beautiful and a lot is happening, but it's seriously just going to snowball for the rest of the show. rewatches are so vital cuz a first time watch through is magical but watching again with knowledge is so satisfying 🔥 i like the idea of releasing all 3 episode reactions at once twice a week and i like the idea of just having one a day, both have benefits and drawbacks. i'm happy with whatever 😁 honestly after watching your reactions i just go watch the next episodes by myself anyway cuz i can't help the urge to binge, but i've seen the show so i know first time watchers probably wouldn't do that 😅

Just to clarify in case it doesn’t click for you guys next episode, when Erwin said there’s “two halves” to this battle, he’s speaking of how the battleground is divided by the wall. Him and Levi will focus on leading the half that the Beast Titan is currently on, and Armin/Hange will focus on leading the half with Reiner currently. 👌

I really enjoy reading your mini reviews of each episode especially the technical aspect. I’m really curious to know your thoughts on the next season because it was animated by a new studio and they used different techniques like rotoscoping and CGI. Both animation studios did an incredible job in bringing this story to life.

Ohhh this is getting good! I was going to speak about the cinematography from the last episode but I will do it here. It is BRILLIANT. I noticed how subtle the cinematography tells the story and tells it well. Two examples of this is: 1) The usage of overlay when Erwin finishes a speech and that overlay capturing the strength of his tone and voice. 2) When they are about to go into battle, the camera movement pans and moves just right that it feels like you are with them fighting the Titan. That first person point of view reminds me of Call of Duty, when you shoot zombies. I truly enjoy the usage of coloring especially on the mountain of corpses Erwin was standing on. I always enjoy when they start using the ODM gear and the camera movement goes straight arsenal by giving you the right amount to look at but still never leaves the character, but when it does, it shifts very naturally. My favorite has to be when Erwin pointed his blade to the Beast Titan and then it gave a close up of the Beast Titan. The reason I love it is because it makes me start using my imagination to wonder what is the Beast Titan thinking at this moment, what is he pondering, or was this something he seen all along. Ughhh this is the type of stuff I breathe. I also remembered too that the Beast Titan took the ODM gear to "study" so I think he might know more about it now. That is a scary thought. I need more indeed because the season is not playing around! As usual, I appreciate your gem of reactions. 💜💜
