DN - Ep. 28 Reaction! | "IMPATIENCE"

Hey Jordan, i think misa looks so young bc she got the remaining life span from Rem bc rem saved her by killing L.

Near and Mello are implied to be both sides of L so their incomplete as Mello is the aggression the risk taker and Near is anything but that he is essentially passive meaning all he does is wait without talking any risk which is why he is lacking to L and unable to reach his level and vise-versa for Mello

really that is have to buy the otaku gold to watch the other episodes of aot?

I was thinking about a question someone asked and I feel like this episode was helping me gather my thoughts. If I had to go against Light, my three options would be interesting. I believe the first thing I would do is first know who he surrounds himself with. What are they like? How do they act? Two is as you said, maybe not just using the person to be a inside person but also have a camera too. Three is trap him into a act he can't get out of that involves the people surrounding them. Because of how smart Light is not sure this would work but I would try. If none of those work well then it would be back to the drawing board lol. I feel like it is hard to capture Light and you would truly have to be 100 steps of him. I love you guys reactions as always and although I can't stand Light (moreso the things he do and his attitude with it all), you both make him bearable. Lol

Fictional villains and agents of chaos are my bread and butter and I genuinely love how much worse and worse Light gets. Watching the first time you think you understand how truly evil he is at any given point, but there are layers to his cruel nature that keep unfolding, even now, and to me that is absolutely fascinating. I honestly think the only reason he didn't kill Sayu here was because it would have outed him as Kira. Had that not been the case, he would not have stopped himself from writing her name down. To a point he had respect for L (something I can't shut up about lol), but the only person or entity that Light cares about is himself and himself only. Everyone else, human or shinigami, are just tools for him to use and discard and he feels zero remorse about it.

Dang this is crazy

Just wanted to add to my comment from the previous episode, AoT and Deathnote are the kings in anime of having crazy convoluted plot lines that almost require rewatches to understand. For the most part other animes are much more straightforward.

Kevin

I really liked that comment asking what question each of you would ask Kira if you could. Now, I'm curious to flip it for L : if you could chat with him after he's gone, say, in some kind of heaven-like scenario. You have one question each, what would you want to ask him ? Really appreciate your reactions and the time you put to analyze the show. Love from Paris

What?!?! 🤣🤣

Funny thing is.. the writer of Death Note actually intended to make Mello and Near L's twin sons.. but they didn't do it because for some reason they couldn't imagine a guy like L ever "doing it" with someone 🤣

Lots of moving parts in this one. I'll try to break down the mind games that are being played. You don't need to read this one on reaction because it's rather lengthy, but please reference it if you need an outline. Both Mello and Near found out about the existence of the death note from their own investigations over the last 5 years and they discovered that the NPA had it in their possession. Mello kidnapped the director of the NPA in hopes of leveraging the notebook for his return, but discovered shortly afterwards that Takimura didn't even know of the notebook's existence. Mello was able to get some useful information from Takimura, primarily the names of the officers who went to work with L who would have been privy to the notebook's existence. This is why Mello's next target was Sayu, the daughter of Soichiro. Near came to the correct conclusion after Takimura died that Kira was responsible. Why was this? Because it would make no sense for the kidnappers to kill their bargaining chip before an exchange was even attempted. However, Light waited to kill Takimura until the entire police agency knew of his kidnapping. This is so Light could blame it on Kira without drawing suspicion to the six members of the task force who initially knew about the kidnapping. If Takimura died while only the six task force members knew of the kidnapping, then one would logically assume that Kira is getting information from one of the six task force members. Light purposefully waited until the entire agency knew of Takimura's kidnapping before killing him, blaming his death on Kira so that he could point to the fact that Takimura was only killed after his kidnapping was made known to the rest of the agency. This further reinforced the idea among the task force that Kira was getting information from inside the police, as L had suspected in episode 3. This benefited Light, since as long as Kira acted differently between when information was given or withheld from the rest of the NPA, it would take suspicions off him. This also convinced the task force not to let the rest of the agency know of Sayu's kidnapping, since they were all under the impression that Kira would find out about Sayu and kill her in order to keep the notebook safe with the NPA. This is why Light couldn't kill Sayu. Not because she was his sister, but because he would need to explain how Kira knew about Sayu being kidnapped in the first place. You seemed confused at the scene with the helicopter and the missile. Mello knew that people would be watching this trade with satellite, so he needed to find a way to get the notebook from that underground bunker to his location without anyone following it. He couldn't simply take the notebook by car or helicopter to his base, because you'd have Special Forces raiding your place within the day. He needed a way to get the notebook out of the underground location without the government knowing where it went, so he had his croney load the notebook onto a missile and then fly away in a helicopter that they intended to blow up and kill him, perhaps to prevent him from being captured and interrogated The missile cannot be tracked by satellite, and Mello is the only one who knows where it will land. He can simply go pick it up at his leisure at the predetermined landing spot, confident that no one is watching him on satellite.

Zugzwang

Mello is crazy, use missiles etc.. and in just this episode, executes two of his men, one for selling drugs without permission (a Death Note test kill) and another for a previous failure (the exploding helicopter). Then with the Death Note in hand, Mello eliminates most of the SPK, sparing only Near and a select few.

Sufiyaki Teriyaki

Light and Misa make the perfect couple. Neither have any redeeming qualities. Both are self indulgent, self serving and obsessive in their own agendas.
