DN - Ep. 26 Reaction! | 🤬🤬

Comments

I kinda hate myself for stopping watching these reactions for a little while, BUT now I can comment stuff without spoiling, so also good xD It's crazy how many new things I still notice while watching these reactions. The puzzle in the end- "L has 3 more lives" was actually super correct, because the next three people in line to be L were Near, Mello and Matt. But I also think it symbolizes how L has ALMOST solved the case himself, but now they have to set those last three pieces to officially solve the case. L was already/always quite sure that his suspicion of Light was correct, and with all that information, he hopes/thinks that they can solve the case. Damn, that just reminded me that the very first Fanfiction I ever wrote was smth about growing up in Wammys House, oh my god xD

The episode where Light becomes completely irredeemable. And this isn't even peak craziness for him.

Nicholas Amos

When Light regains all of his memories in the helicopter, he screams with all his heart, in terror. I think that could be interpreted as Light not only regaining all of his memories, but also Light screaming in terror knowing he is this murderer he despises the most, this mass murderer that Light didn't want to become, Kira. For example, when Misa regains all of her memories, she is just a little bit shocked because, as she said before; being the second Kira would not be a problem for her. In contrast, Light hated criminals, but became one. This show is meticulously fascinating in the details.

Joined patreon just for death note, to think we have actually come to this point. What a Heartbreaking moment...one of the best moments in anime to this day and this came out in 2006! AOT is also amazing, but can we appreciate how death note has still been a top of the line anime after nearly 2 decades. Rest in peace L

This scene is so terrifying.. Even Ryuk looks scared of Light

I was so convinced that L would not be dead ! I am not willing to give up hope yet haha

Caption. Conductor of Death : Light Yagami It's possible that Light deletes L's findings to cover his tracks. Now without L's presence, Light may indeed struggle to find the same level of intellectual challenge and excitement. Light may feel a sense of emptiness or lack of purpose.

I really like your train of thought…. Very interesting perspective.

Also regarding L's real name: It was never revealed in the show, but in a Death Note encyclopedia called "How to Read" that serves as volume 13 of the manga, it is revealed that L's real name is actually ... L Lawliet (pronounced like low-light) Imagine Lights reaction if he found out L was his real name all along 😂

the end is NEAR

Caption... You Son Of A B****!!!!

If you look closely, you'll notice that there's no mention of the Shinigami in the first half, because in reality, this isn't a reenactment of the anime plot; it's L's investigative record and recollection, as he edges closer to the truth.

Hi Jared, hi Jordan. First things first: i'm a huge fan of yours, love your reaction and i'm really happy that you guys are enjoying this show (that's one of the all time favourite of mine), big love from Italy! (i will probably mispell a lot of words, sorry guys). Anyway, i got a question for you two guys: let's play a game, let's say that you two guys are now going against Kira; what would be your next three moves and in which order? :) Another question for you guys: do you guys think that maybe, in some ways, Light is missing L presence? Like, i know he wanted to kill him asap, but he still has those memories of them when Light wasn't Kira; maybe it was a friend for Light, i don't see him hanging around with many peaple. It makes me sad to see a so deep corruption in his heart that makes him kill a dear friend that easly. What do you think? Last one: If each of you got the chances to ask Kira a single question each, what would you ask? Thanks for your hard work, keep enjoying the show! Love the content

it took 5 years for him to receive the message that L is dead?

while watching these 2 episodes, I started thinking about what a good job the creators of DN did at portraying Light as a 'bad person'. It would be so easy to portray someone using the death note the way Light uses in a more 'positive' way - to portray him in a way where the audiences would co-sign his mission. Where it truly felt that he was doing justice. Just look at how this episode points out that people around the world love Kira, that countries are agreeing with him. Think about the real world. Look at how much people love stories about vigilantes - if we as an audience weren't provided with Light's inner thoughts it would be so easy for us to fall to the side of supporting Kira, but since we have an insider view on his thoughts and behaviours it now becomes hard to even consider supporting him. I feel like this show is calling out all of humanity for our morality, and for blindly supporting 'justice' that we don't truly understand. I think about this a lot. If someone in the real world were doing something like this, and I only had an outsiders viewpoint, would I support it? Or condemn it? It feels like it should be an easy answer, but if I'm truly honest with myself, I can't say that I would condemn it. With the world the way it is, the corruption and violence and lack of justice within our systems and around the world, I can see how an existence like Kira would feel like a saviour. And that's a chilling thought. But beyond that, it makes me think of my place in the masses - am I just one amongst many who have supported the wrong people, the wrong politicians, activists, sides of conflicts, because of my limited worldview? If I knew the thoughts and hidden actions of people that I support (like how we know Light's thoughts), would I discover that I was supporting something evil? I'm sure that the chances aren't zero. Anyways, excuse my rambling, just some food for thought.

Matsuda mentioned briefly in the latter half of the episode it had been 10 days since Ryuzaki's funeral. One of the Death Note movies included a deleted scene where the task force is at L's funeral, and it's quite a good watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqA0xZuaEuE It contains no spoilers for where you are in the series. It's merely an extra scene that gives a glimpse of Light's inner feelings for L as an opponent. It would be neat to see you guys react to it, as this point in the series would be right where this scene fits had it been included in the anime.
