So I have a confession. I randomly yell out "KENNNNNNY" when I'm walking through my house because of this episode. 🙃 this scene lives rent free in my head. The next episode is my one of my favorites 😍 along with one of my favorite battle scenes of this series. 😫 soooooo goooooood!!!

Whether you watch the opening or not is up to you. I don’t consider it to have “spoilers” bc the opening is made for the episode and had heavy oversight so is it not how your supposed to watch it? Like is it a spoiler if it’s supposed to be there. It’s definitely different than season one’s final opening in the sense that that opening was more hindsight (like seeing the beast titans smile or other things I can’t say yet bc that would be a spoiler) this one is more primary and telling you what will happen in the future along with other things that don’t always have meaning so it rly depends on

Correct on your #5. And lol, that’s funny you noticed Levi’s cup holding. The common belief is that since he grew up poor in the underground, he got used to broken stuff, and his tea cup had the handle broken off so that’s how he learned to hold a hot cup (grasping the top edges). No idea if there’s any canon truth to that though, or just a very common fan theory haha. Edit: we do know from his OVA he’s very stubborn when it comes to doing things his own way. When the scouts try to teach him to hold the swords the “proper” way, he doesn’t even consider listening to them.

*first time watcher* Woah, this season started with a bang 😂 Alright, more questions but Im holding back on some just in case. My thoughts: 1. Beginning- pretty sure that’s Eren but with longer hair and possibly standing at the shore of a sea. So, future Eren thinking back, a memory, or a dream? 🤔 2. The experiment- a nasty sight to say the least! His body was hanging out of his Titan! And that face with his tongue sticking out or whats left of it! 😖😖 Hange’s passionate af 😅 3. Walls- though a slight confusion here with Erwin saying Shiganshina and Eren saying Maria, I assume both walls would have to be plugged eventually 🤷‍♀️ 4. Loved how Moblit tore Djel Sannes’ grip off our Hange 💪🏻 and you cant fool Hange 😄 I remembered Moblit the one who told Hange he would go investigate the titan in Ragako village in her stead. Is he a good sketch artist too 😄 5. So is King Fritz the grey-haired/bearded man seated on that throne looking uninterested, and Lord Reiss the short, round belly man in that hall? 6. J&J’s reaction until they found out it was Armin! I already knew the moment Sasha almost slipped up but seeing their confused faces 🤣🤣🤣 7. Nifa and the other veteran scout with goggle glasses- RIP 😔. There’s one other with the shaved head, I believe he’s the one on the carriage with Eren and Historia- were they headed to meet Pixis? 8. Lastly, Kenny the Ripper 👀 (not Jack?)- banger intro. His demeanor and what looks like maneuver gear modified with shotguns gave me mad ruthless vibes. The sound effects of reloading 👍 so the real question is, how do they know each other and why is he targeting Eren and Historia (I believe)? Is he working with Lord Reiss who said “that” is set in motion? 🤔 Awesome start. By the way I noticed the way Levi holds his cup. Interesting, is there a reason behind it? Till tomorrow 🙏🏻💜

If it was me I would've translated the last sentence like this: "It means, there are humans which has been the original of that titan, does exist." I hope you get the meaning! i think mid credit note that they can share about the vital organ being nothing but a human inside is referring to them always slicing the back of the neck to kill the titans,.. so they thought that is actually an organ.. when in actuality they are cutting up the human? haha haven't read the manga or seen aot.. first time watching with you guys but thats what i got from it.. im probably totally wrong.

The girl who got her head blown off, Nifa, is one of those characters you start noticing more and more on rewatch. As part of Hange’s squad, she’s actually in quite a few scenes in S2. Covering the wall Titan, talking with Connie on the wall when he’s confused about Reiner/Bert, shouting encouragement during the mma titan fight, etc. And then here being the messenger between all the scouts. Such a subtle thing, but I love how there’s so many background characters in AoT that are actually consistent and recurring. Other examples of this is are glasses-dude who also died this episode, Pixis’ right-hand man (brunette girl named Anka), and even Moblit to an extent. Really lends an air of credibility to the AoT world.

Kenny tried to shoot Levi 100% lol (try to pause it and u will see the hole on the wall next to Levi). Levi's reflexes are just out of this world 🤣🤣... dude felt the presence behind him and warned Nifa without even looking back 🤯🤯🤯... something similar also happened earlier, right before they kidnapped Armin and Jean... as far as Kenny tho, he is a completely new character, they showed him twice earlier in that same episode tho, without revealing his face. After the rewatch in dub you will figure that out.

RAAHHHHH this season is bananas! What a freaking opener for the season right? It gets more crazier and convoluted so please take your time with these episodes. A lot of info gets thrown your way but its important to keep these in mind: -their main goal is to get to the basement, but they need Eren to learn how to harden his Titan in order to seal Wall Maria/ Shinganshina district - R&B are somewhere out there still! -Christa, who is actually Historia Reiss, and Eren are wanted by the government for some reason -Scouts are being frozen aka not allowed to conduct their activity for the time being. -the Church of the Walls and the inner government know more than others -Titans are being hinted at being humans. All of them. We know there are more intelligent ones like the shifters aka Eren, Reiner, etc. And then there's the others like the ones we've seen try to eat humans. I think if you keep these in mind, it should help formulate what's going on a bit better The next episode is my favorite of the whole show. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Glad you guys watched the intro once through! The ending credit song/visuals in S3P1 are really good too, and they have 0 spoilers. I suggest watching them once through as well next video. I think most of the audience likes seeing one watch through, then after that it’s not a big deal. The intro credits to S3P2 are the ones you must avoid at all cost, as they are *extremely* spoilery. I’m sure to be saying that again in the comments once you guys are closer to them.

Poor Armin. I really felt so terrible for him, he was being SA'd and Jean had to watch that too. That scene leaves a really bad feeling in my stomach everytime.

I started reading the manga during this arc in the story and it was so crazy to go from watching the anime to reading the manga especially for the scenes we just watched and some of the scenes that are happening soon 😵‍💫 one of my favorite parts in the story for sure.

Great reaction as always guys! I want to clarify some statements that Kenny made about Levi. When he asked Levi “Have you grown any yet?”, that is because Levi is only 5’2’’ in height. His short stature is a result of malnourishment and lack of sunlight from his childhood in the Underground. Also, it was Kenny who called Levi a “little runt” earlier in the episode.

the vibe for this season is so much more different and they all seem so much more mature even though it hasn't been that long since the events of seasons 1 and 2, it has to do with a couple of changes in animation style and their voices being deeper, but I also think it was done intentionally to show how much they've grown and how much more difficulties they'll need to indure

It's interesting to see the moments that Levi shows emotion. When Kenny killed Nifa and when the abnormal killed Isabel and Farlan are the two I can remember. In No Regrets, Levi was only facing one titan, so he wasn't in much danger. In this episode, Levi is facing Kenny, and not any titans. However, when Levi was facing the female titan, he kept completely calm, even after the death of his squad. I think this shows that when there is a major threat Levi keeps calm and does what needs to be done. But when he can, he allows himself to "let it out". Letting himself release his emotions when the situation allows probably lends him the strength to keep calm when he needs to. Also, when Levi held back Mikasa from chasing Eren, Mikasa never resented him. Levi isn't only a great, clear headed leader, but his soldiers respect him and understand his decisions. Eren also wasn't resentful about the beating in the courtroom. Erwin is a great leader as well, but sometimes his soldiers don't see where he's coming from, as when Dieter disobeyed and went back to retrieve the bodies in 1x22. However, I don't think that is necessarily a character difference. Instead I believe it reflects the difficulty of leading as a higher up commander who is more removed from his soldiers. Anyway, you are the greatest reactors out of them all.
