So I just went back to Ilse's notebook to rewatch it and I'm really confused on why people are saying the blonde lady is the same as the male titan. Maybe I missed something but the way that person screamed and their physical appearance seemed female.

In the Flashback, Ymir was just a random girl, and the church just needed a figure head, so they picked her and told people she has King blood. Also in Ymir's Flashback, you missed to see that her and her followers when they were being pushed over the wall, they were first injected by something, you can see the soldier holding a syringe after he kicked Ymir over.

this episode always gets me in my feelings. i adoooooore ymir so very much and seeing her suffer and not just that, but suffer alone, will always hurt. she was a homeless orphan, same as the other children she was with. then she's taken, put on a pedestal, then thrown under the bus by the very people that took her. baby girl ymir was just happy to have warm food and a bed to sleep on. she wanted love all her life and she finally found it when she met christa/historia. ymir is so special to me, i cant get enough of her character and storyline.

Not many do lol but to help clear up some confusion with Ymirs backstory: Ymir and those kids were just random orphans. The priest guy picked one to use as a "false royal" with the name of Ymir in order to gain a following with the cult like religion. She willingly played the role since as she said it was the 1st time she ever felt needed. We can assume the cult was an illegal organization since the feds pulled up on them lol and when they kick them off the wall, you can hear a noise as if they are being given some type of shot or something? Sounds familiar 🤔 hope this helps!

First time watcher here. So i think there are people who are born with Titan abilities and they would be considered having the blood of the king. I mean look at Connie’s mom. I think it’s safe to assume his mom is the Titan on his house. If that’s the case, her children could have been born with abilities right? I got my eyes on everybody now. Who else is a Titan. And who is the king? Whoever this king is, the ones born with Titan abilities (if that’s even the case) must be descendants of him?? Maybe he’s the first of his kind, humans who can turn. I’m still thinking of the beast Titan too. Could he be the king? He does control all of the titans. Idk I’m just brainstorming at this point. There’s so many questions I can’t wait to get answers to.

to clear some confusion that you seemed to have about Ymir backstory: -like you said yourselves "brand new name like Historia" yes that's why Ymir in a way sees herself in Historia. She was given that name 'Ymir' by those people so it's not her real name (by the way this is not a spoiler! everything that i'm mentioning/going to mention is from the backstory given this episode!) -those kids were all orphans, Ymir included. Those guys found kids who have no home no family and took one of them, gave her a brand new name which is Ymir and it seems like this person named Ymir who has the blood of the king exist or existed and these people worship her like the priests in the walls who worship the walls (pastor Nick and others priests). So, they took a random kid, gave her the name and started worshiping her even tho it's all fake. -That's the lies she keep mentioning, she just wanted to be useful for those people who gave her a warm bed to sleep in and food to eat, basically a 'home' (things she didn't have as a homeless orphan, which is so messed up and sad) so she didn't say anything even tho those people were lying and the most messed thing is those same people the moments they got found out by the military (?), the first thing they do is throwing all blame on her when she literally didn't do anything beside lying to herself to keep having a 'home' and people who 'cared' for her! When she said that's she is 'Ymir the one who have the blood of the king' she did it thinking that will save them not caring about what will happens to herself or the fact that the man who took her in (basically forced her into someone she is not) threw all blame on her to save his a**! this shows how misunderstood she is as a character and the one who understands her is Historia who is in the same situation as she was (given a fake name, forced to join the cadets training and becoming a soldier...etc) that's why Ymir kept telling her to be honest with her self and to take her real name back, it's because of Ymir personal experience and what she went through. btw I love that you recognized the lady that was a titan in ilse notebook!! I did too but many reactors i've watched never did lol! The punishment she was talking about is when she was pushed from that wall and became a titan, the same for the others too who were in that 'cult' (there was the yellow lightning and if you listen closely, the sound of something being injected right before they were pushed and right as she was pushed, if you look in the hand of one of those military (?) guys, you'll see something interesting and familiar!) i've said enough lol of course all things i mentioned are shown in this episode! no spoilers! like always love the reaction <3 even tho i don't normally comment, i always look forward to your reactions! I'm so sorry for the lenthy comment! Just wanted to clarify the things you did not get, which are essential for the story overall!

That’s the exact wrong interpretation. Her regular followers absolutely worshipped and adored her. The policeman asked if it was true that “she told the priests she had the blood of the king and all they did was believe her”. Then, the follower tried to subtly tell her to say “no” by looking at her and shaking her head. They’d rather the priests take the fall than Ymir. The shake of the head was literally saying, “Don’t tell them you’re legit, they’ll take you away!” because they actually thought she was legit. This is also what prompted Ymir to try and sacrifice herself, because she knew they actually loved her. I’m certain I’m right on this, I don’t really see the basis for seeing it any other way. Edit: we know that person still loved and worshipped Ymir even as a Titan as well, further confirming my theory.

Just to clarify about when ymir's "follower" shakes their head at her, it was basically them pleading to ymir to take the blame and not tell the soldiers the truth that it wasnt her idea to claim to be royalty, she was abducted as a child basically and manipulated to play a role of some royal bloodline. So long story short the shake of the head was to tell ymir save us and take the blame, that's how I take it at least, but as you saw made no difference anyway, great reaction and I hope I made sense lol
