build anticipation is AS BAD as spoiler for some people, i know it reduce GREATLY my apreciation of an episode if anyone have raise up my expectation before, (you are "prepare" for something big to happen so you feel less surpirse when it happen, so you enjoy less the reveal, if the exact same effect of a spoiler when you think about it, aka diminishes the surprise and the "chock effect" a scene could have by telling them something big is about to happen, i know there is people who dont care about it and even people who like to be hyped up, but there is also people who will completly give up a show after seeing comment like your, i know you didnt have any bad intend, i just claryfie why ur comment could be considere a spoiler to some people an dhoping you dont take urself as a reference and refrain to writing this type on comment in the future, the fact you personaly dont mind if someone tell you this kind of info doesnt mean is the casse for everyone, for exemple i know people who dont care about spoil, that doesnt mean they can spoil people like it was ok, same thing happen here, build up anticipation can be as bad as a strait up spoil since is have the same effect... hope you dont take my comment badly, i didnt have any intend to harm, but i lack english skill to be tactfull and just wanna explain why you shouldnt do this kind of thing, have a good day :)

Trust me guys you will have something more than ptsd from what coming next ! and don't worry the trailer is not finished yet xD You will find out a lot of things about the story and characters and everything, remember when i said every sentence has a meaning ? once you finish the season 2 and go back to season 1 for example and rewatch it, you will find that there was a lot of meanings in a small words and normal conversations betweens characters :) and you will be mind blown

I hurt for Levi so much. I just wanna hug him. He had to go through this exact thing all over again when losing his Squad members. That’s probably why he seemed so devoid. I’m hurting to think about how he’ll be in season 2 becuz I’m sure he won’t be able to remain so calm and stoic for long. He has so much pain and trauma that he needs to face. He’s someone that hurts in silence but I want to see him a little less controlling of his emotions, in the present timeline. Mann the trio was so great, I hate that Furlan and Isabel died

Awesome reactions as always! I really enjoyed this one. Also: Mods, let's PLEASE ensure the twins don't come across any spoilers in these comments. The show's essence lies in its mystery, plot twists & surprises that catch you off guard in the most unexpected moments & episodes. Pointing out said episodes would ruin the very confusion and surprise Isayama carefully crafted for the audience. The twins should have the chance to experience each episode just as we did—without any prior knowledge or hints that they may watch the best episode of the series on any given day.

@Roberto The entire premise of the episode you mentioned is to catch you off guard, with about the first 10 minutes building up mystery. For most people, it feels like a normal AoT episode. Hyping up S1 EP5 after the Colossal Titan appeared in S1 EP4 makes COMPLETE SENSE (or the OBVIOUS trio of episodes later on in the series.) Hyping up an episode that is built-on mystery and surprise and calling it people's "favorite of the show," heavily HINTS at an important plot development which may reduce surprise or suspense, so I think @Kevin saying it's "soft spoiling" is fair. Isayama didn't intend the audience to watch that episode knowing something big was going to happen, which is different from the example you mentioned.

Spoiler, according to oxford dictionary, is "a description of an important plot development in a television show, film, or book which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader." So nobody has spoiled anything since nobody talked about the plot. And, in addition, I want to remind you that after episode 1x4 a lot of people in the comment section said "next episode is crazy". Did the brothers enjoyed less the episode because they already knew it was going to be crazy? No. So what the hell are u talking about

Episode 6 is amazing specifically because it comes out of nowhere, and you don’t expect anything big after the insanity of the previous 2 episodes. Knowing there’s something big coming ruins a MASSIVE reason why the episode works so well. Isayama spends half a season setting up the episode to be one of the best subversions of expectations ever written. Telling new fans it’s coming spits in the face of the amazing writing and defeats the entire point of setting up the subversion of expectation. But like I said, I’m done. Keep it in. There’s way too many people spoiling it to keep up, I leave the decision to the mods.

Hey guys first time trying to get a comment in on a video for you to respond to… just wanted to say that i think you figured it out in the end but incase you didnt levi had absolutely no issue with that abnormal. in fact he obliterated it and mutilated its body in an act of passion. making sure it feels pain for killing his friends until finally slicing the nape which he could of just done right away. he wanted it to suffer and also directly disobeyed erwins order to stop using so much gas on wasted movement… and about what erwin said in regard to making decisions… hes bassicaly saying a decision gains meaning for the first time when your next decisions are based on betterment of the future and not letting a regretful past hinder you from seeing the overall bigger picture. when you make a decision it will have an effect on decisions you've yet to make. meaning if he doesnt let his friends come on the expedition and they don’t die he tries to kill erwin and never joins the scouts finding his higher purpose. Levi got caught on purpose by the survey corps underground because Lovof had told him not to put too much of a fight with them.. Its true that Erwin did sort of threaten him to join them but Levi's main goal was to go along with Erwin to complete his mission.. so Levi did kind of put himself and his friends in that situation and about the decision-making sentence, I think it means that when we make a decision we should already have a clear idea of the next step we will take after it.. no one knows what the outcome of our decision will be but if you regret it later then you won't be able to take that next step too.. (XD wow I just successfully confused myself)

Like you guys I always saw the similarities in Eren and Levi. Whether dead or alive they both have no parents in their lives so technically orphans who lived in the streets. Granted Eren was never a "thug" but was running around at a young age fighting and insulting the MP's and has a hot temper which could be thought of as thuggish. Also they both have a deeply singular loyalty to keeping the ones they love or respect safe and to the survey corps. Can't wait for you to see upcoming episodes as you'll get even more Levi back story. Seeing you two and the way you interact make me miss my brother, watching movies and talking about them was something we did often and I get nostalgic watching your reactions. You witnessed the rare moment where Levi actually smiled in this episode... Also the reason Levi took much longer to kill the abnormal is because he wanted to make it suffer as much as possible by slicing every bit of its body before going for the nape.

The way Levi deals with trauma and suffering is shown so well in this show that many people see Levi as "cold" and "unfeeling". But Levi grieves in those moments we see his eyes, and in fact, the way I see it, he copes with suffering by caring for his soldiers and being that person in their lives they can depend on. He channels all of his immense suffering into these channels in such a way that he stays calm, competent, and strong, while being the best leader his troops can ask for, and still giving himself the ability to feel loss and grieve the death of the people close to him.

When the subtitles said "Didn't that sound to you like the pot calling the kettle black?", a more accurate translation is basically "Didn't you hear what that shit was saying from his shitty mouth?" - Levi is a thug after all, and his language generally reflects that.

After seeing this, the scene where the Scouts have to dump the bodies from the wagons to escape the titans hits so much harder. Levi says "Whether you have the body or not, dead is dead." and "In the past, lots of soldiers haven't made it back to the walls. These guys aren't special." in reference to his own squad's bodies. Levi was able to do and say that without flinching because he had already had to leave behind the bodies of the only people he considered family. He had nothing left of them whatsoever, so when he ended up giving Petra's patch to the soldier and said it was Ivan's, he knew he could go on living without any physical reminder of them.

Erwin is pretty much saying that life is just a succession of decisions, and to get to your final goal each decision has to be taken towards it. Now if you start regretting your last decision, your next one will be altered, this is why it is important to avoid having regrets, to have a clearer vision of your next move. And yes as u mentioned it, Levi told Eren the same thing when the female titan was running right behind them... "the choice is yours Eren to transform or not, but no matter what u do make sure you do not regret it" that philosophy came from Erwin himself.

Levi has other go-to methods for emotional expression (such as slicing up a Titan). 2) @8:32, when we get a Lovof blackmail scheme flashback, Lovof tells Levi the Survey Corps is sure to come after Levi, Furlan, and Isabelle. Lovof’s next line got missed: “Don’t forget to put up a bit of a fight.” What does this tell you about Levi, Furlan, and Isabelle’s eventual capture by Erwin? 3) IMO, Levi’s flashback to Furlan and Isabelle in Survey Corps custody is meant to show how protective Levi is over his found family. He knows he can mitigate risk if he insists they stay behind. It’s not meant to convey a lack of confidence in Furlan and Isabelle’s field/combat skills. 4) IMO, Erwin’s final speech to Levi is to encourage him to maintain his autonomy; to make powerful decisions which Levi alone owns. Do not let painful circumstances cause you to drift aimlessly but captain your ship. Erwin, despite the murder plot, asks Levi to follow him. Erwin does not want Levi to choose to follow him blindly out of weakness, pain, or debt, but strength and independence.

the beautiful song in this ova is called "so ist es immer" which means "it is always like that" in german. it is by Hiroyuki Sawano who made a majority of the soundtrack for the show. the singer is called benjamin anderson who is british. most of the song is in german (everything used in this ova definitely is) which sounds very interesting because anderson is not fluent in the language at all. it is basically as if you would try to sing in german without a clue of how to pronounce anything. but honestly i wouldnt have it any other way, the weird pronounciation give the song a very unique flair in my opinion, definitely one of my favorites as well

The scene where Furlan and Isabel ask Levi to have faith is very reminiscent of Petra & Levi squad asking Eren to have faith in the Forest of Giant Trees. That was why Levi posed the genuine question to Eren about whether he should put his trust in his comrades or trust only in himself. Levi said in that episode that to this day, he doesn't know the answer

Erwin’s words to Levi to me meant don’t base your decisions on regrets from the past as that will only cloud your thinking, judgment and decisions going forward in life. Living in the past with regrets will hold you back, make you second guess all that you do. The image of the two birds flying above Levi at the end was poignant, sad yet beautiful. Just my interpretation.

Just finished it and i have another thing i noticed! The way Erwin says to Levi to not have regrets is like how in season 1 when Eren was debating if he should transform in the forrest Levi told Eren to make the decision he would regret the least! Theres a lot of parallels here and its super awesome to notice them! Awesome reaction you two and i cant wait to see your reaction to the rest because it only gets better! Another thing this shows is that NOBODY is safe! No matter how important a character seems! NOBODY IS SAFE! Anyone could die at any time! The show is not afraid of death! The world is a cruel place after all.
