I have never watched the OVAs even after watching the series and I'm really enjoying this. I dont know if the OVAs count as fillers, but in anime, they sometimes have FILLER episodes, which are episodes that are typically noncanonical (don't have anything to do with the story) but are there because they need more time for animation. There might be a pause in the Manga and they are waiting for more chapters to be released. Most Manga is released in 1 - 2 chapters per week or even monthly. I've also heard that filler episodes can also sometimes set up for a noncanonical movie which I think quite a few of the longer anime series have. Not all series have fillers, especially series less than 3 seasons. Anime fans will sometimes suggest skipping fillers and just continuing with the main story, but I've never really had an issue with filler episodes myself. Fun Fact: AOT is the ONLY Manga I have ever read. I waited for episodes to be released and would wake up and immediately watch the episodes on days that they were released, however, when season 3 ended and it was announced season 4 would be in parts I couldn't wait anymore. I had to know what was going to happen.

I'm doing a mother so I'm so careful to not judge my kids' worries that is worth been sad or not, and your words describe it so well! "Worst thing that happens to a person, is the worst thing happened to that person" I love it, and I'll keep it in my mind too. (I felt this because my mother laughed at me when I was little, when my mom secretly changed my boiled egg to an Easter egg that I was full of desire to peel off the shell. I cried like hell when the chocolate appeared that time and she laughed at me, I felt so sad and angry! lol Of cause now I know why she laughed at me that time. haha) Thank you again! It started with him seeing her and telling her that she looked "unique" Also that time when Jean was leaving Mikasa and Eren alone and he looked back... I remember you guys saying what was that... and me being like.. dude is jealous. He can tell that they are close. So yeah.. the picture he was making was definitely Mikasa and he was annoyed with his mom because he's a teenage boy and is just embarrassed by his Mom calling him Jean boy and all that in front of everyone ((and in his room while he was trying to draw his girl))

I mean... both of them are bold so it makes perfect sense haha But in all seriousness... too bad you guys skipped the opening from this ova. It starts the same but is a bit different. Definitely worth checking out.

Also, you guys caught the bed scene with Armin in bed being almost exactly the same as the scene with Erin in bed, just with different characters. If you watch carefully, nearly every scene in the whole episode is just a redrawing of a scene in S1 with characters swapped around. They even use the same audio clips (same cheering sounds, etc.). Very unique and funny way to build an episode.

I find this episode so interesting to watch, as most reactors don’t relate to Jean very much in this episode, but when I saw it I was immediately like, “I am Jean! Jean is me!” When I was around his age (14), my mom helicopter parented very hard, and that’s also the age when other kids begin to tease you for stuff like that. You can see his anger stems out of embarrassment in the scene his mom visits him. In front of everyone she’s cleaning up a spill on his pants and calls him “poor little Jean Boy”. Jean really cares how people think of him, and considering his crush Mikasa was there, I totally relate to his outburst and him trying to shoo her away, I would have done the exact same at his age. Love the reaction and glad you guys are enjoying the OVA’s!

2024-03-28 00:06:03 +0000 UTCjean is kinda pampered. he acts that way with his mother bc he is a mama boy. he made an effort to project toughness, but in retrospect he saw his mistakes. remember that jean joined the survey corp while still a teenager. it demonstrates how many teenagers have similar relationships with their mothers. the meat moment is kinda goofy but it's nice to see a bit of comedic relief where there's not constant high stakes and horrible stuff (just to increase our depression later lol) ...

She is damn serious when it comes to food, especially meat! This episode emphasises the relationship of the other trio us AOT fans love (Jean, Sasha, & Connie) other than the main trio. It also shows the contrast between how serious the main trio is, while Jean, Sasha, and Connie are just 3 dumb peas of the same pod. It’s good to see some episodes or OVA’s like this to distract us from the actual terror and death that AOT presents to us. As someone who watched AOT for 7 years, waiting every week for the newest episodes to come out, I can say there are MANY twists, terrors, and conflicts that are yet to come, and I hope yall are ready for it. Love you guys and I’m with yall for the whole ride of AOT, the greatest anime in the world baby!!!!
