So the last 5 episodes I haven't been able to watch due to the platforms you are using won't cast to my TV. My eyesight isn't great or hearing and I depend on casting to a larger screen like my TV. Any suggestions?

Also providing some insight regarding Kageyama and Suga's inner monologues at 22:03. Something that should be mentioned is that they are not actually directly saying "I" in these sentences. When it comes to who the subject is in a sentence, a lot of it is just implied in Japanese. It's different from when Kageyama would actually use "I" during middle school. ("No! 'I'm' going to nationals!" ["Chigau! 'Ore' wa zenkoku e iku!"]) With that being said, this is just to clarify for Jared thinking Kageyama and Suga were thinking "I, I, I" in their minds; it does not change the fact that they were definitely thinking of their own desires in this scene. However, this whole scene is supposed to show how despite their desires being different on the surface, the underlying "feel" of said desires is actually the same. Before the chain of their inner monologues, Kageyama and Suga both mention something along the lines of how their "goals" align with one another's. They each have their own desires (e.g., "I want to be in the game" [Kageyama] and "I want to stay here longer" [Suga]), but at the end of the day, they all lead to Kageyama and Suga yearning for the same exact goal: winning for Karasuno.

m

but for me I believe Kageyama has some growth in this episode in particular bc he's always been about himself and how he can improve which ultimately lead him to his "King of the Court" Persona that was meant in a negative tone.. but during this scene Kageyama's view point changes at least slightly bc he wants to play yes but he also wants to score for the team and improve for the teams overall improvement! Before it was that he wanted to play yes but he wanted to hog all the game time for himself in junior high... and with Suga he's got a similar midset of yes he wants to play longer on the court but he know's his time to do so is coming to a close (which is represented by his Noose around the neck line) and he also has the mindset that his help both on the court and outside the court benifits Karasouno in different ways but still helps the team get closer to victory.. And I believe that's what Coach Ukai was trying to get Kageyama to see for himself while he was outside of the court after his "Revert" back to his old persona (when he was starting to panic and become even more closedminded and unsure of himself)

to give some input for the scene with kageyamas and sugas inner monologue. Jared was a bit confused because both were saying "I" alot which before was a sign of weakness in kageyama. i do believe that they were both having somewhat selfish thoughts in that moment. both of them expressed how much they want to stay on the court for as long as possible to play and actively help the team win. you could say that those are selfish desires but one of the few that are actually helpful for a team to evolve and be competetive. you want players from the bench to push your starters in every practise and in every game so the team as whole can reach new heights. and you want the starters to accept that competition and keep fighting as well. so i do believe that kageyama and suga were selfish here but in a healthy manner that only benefits the team. that is at least how i interpreted it

azure

yeah i strongly agree. same goes for some other characters from other teams that we are yet to meet. some people tend to see everybody whos not on karasuno as villains and dislike them. it is very nice to see that J&J are keeping an open mind (hehe)

Does anyone else have the “Iwa-Chan” TikTok sound in their heads now?😁💗 (Jared & Jordan…there is an old viral sound on TikTok incorporating dialogue clips from Haikyu!! and it starts with a clip from this episode…Oikawa calling out to Iwaizumi, “Iwa-Chan!”). I had to giggle at two things: 1) The shock over the anime’s pacing. There is one future match that takes up nearly 40 chapters in the manga. Despite the repetitive setting of a VB court, no fear! You’ll never be lacking in takeaways: emotional highs and lows, nuggets of wisdom, character development, and real world personal applications for lessons learned. 2) The mention of Kageyama’s dad possibly located in the stands. While family isn’t non-existent in Haikyu!!, the lion’s share of the “parenting” falls to coaches, sensei, and senpai. S1 watchers often wonder, “Where the heck are all the parents?!”😁 Vocab: direct attack…there was a ball in Aoba Johsai’s possession that ended up in the 50/50 zone (directly above the net) while Hinata was in the front row. As the ball drifted more into Karasuno’s territory, Hinata was encouraged by teammates to jump and execute a direct attack (to spike the ball directly back to Aoba Johsai). It was his first direct attack in a match, so he nervously flubbed it over, and was later chastised on the bench by Kageyama for crappy execution (Kageyama expertly deflecting, preferring to talk about Hinata’s error vs. sharing his feelings/mental state after being subbed out). #finishseasonone #sugaforpresident Great Wednesday reactions as always, gentlemen.💜🙏🏻💜

Thank you as always J&J, for always giving it your best 💜🙏 Love that Jordan caught Suga's cute little "come here" gesture. The reflection that crosses Hinata's eyes gets me 😂. It almost looks like a sparkle but yet its like an excitement or thrill. Oh Jordan we are definitely thinking about you and Jared 😂💜🙏 Let's goo Season 1!!

I love Oikawa I think his personality and the way he's so in tuned to everyone and everything around him is so cool but he's a completely different person around Iwa-chan since they've known each other since they were kids.. Plus I like how he sort of puts on a mask of some kind around his fans and people who come up to him.. though he's genuine when talking with them and appreciative at least that's what I think about Oikawa! His mind is just something to behold! Especially when he figured out Hinita's and Kagyama's signals during their match given to them by suga! He's a very dedicated Team member and Captain!

at 2:35 i'd thought i'd clarify: Sempai can be applied to anybody who's older than you so in this case for the first years it would be the second years and third years Second: Tanaka, Nishinoya Third: asahi, Suga, and Daichi; while the firsts would be Tukishima, Kagayama, Hinita, and Yamaguchi! But Sempi can also refer to someone who is older than you or has a higher ranking than you do its a show of respect to people who are older than you in your life... To equate this to something you both have been in the world for think of it like when the bts members say hyung for their older members, and Nona for an older female ... it's similar to Sempai if not the same thing.... again its mostly showing respect for the people older than you in your life whether in school or work life it still applies!

When Suga wanted to tell something to Kageyama but hesitated — the subs are a bit awkward, so it's not the easiest thing to catch. The point of that moment is the language Suga uses. Initially, he almost said "go win this", removing himself from the action, but then caught himself and changed it to "let's win this", with him being a part of this team effort.

SUGA FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Kxlsie

This episode is my favourite from season 1 because it is Suga centered and you get to see how he works with his team. Now you see another reason why I love Suga and you also got to see some of that chaoticness that I was telling you about. You can also see that once he stepped onto the court he immediately boosted the morale of his team even Oikawa noticed that and that is why he gave Suga the nickname Mr. Refreshing. You can see that from his obvservations that he made from when he was on the bench he was able to put them into play on the court. You also noticed that he knew that Seijoh was going to target him because of his low blocking which was why he told Tsukki befor the next serve to switch with him. Like I said he is very observant just like Oikawa(in case you haven't noticed.) Like when Seijoh got their set point Suga new what their quick attack was going to be like and told Hinata, Daichi, and Tanaka when they should jump to block and Hinata did it right when he blocked Kindaichi it just unfortunitly went out. Did you also pay attention to what Ennoshita said about Suga. How that Suga makes sure he knows how his teammates are feeling both mentally and physically so that they can play at their best(also just like Oikawa and how he brings out 100% of his spikers potential just in different ways) I don't know if you noticed this but on Suga's last play it was the 3rd years who all touched the ball and got the point and it went in order of their jersey numbers. Daichi #1 he received it than it was Suga #2 who set it and then it was Asahi #3 who spiked for the point. I love it when they make those little connections. This episode is one of the biggest reasons why as I said before in my previous comment back on episode 9 that Suga is my favourite anime character of all time and same with Oikawa as you saw in the last few episodes. They are the greatest characters in all of anime in my opinion and they did it without having any special powers. They did it because they are most relatable characters the manga artist and the anime has ever made. Even though I am from Canada so for me it would be Suga for Prime Minister but yea Suga has my vote.

Larissa Haig

100% agreed with everything you said

Kxlsie

Suga has my vote for president for sure, he is one of my favorites characters. We are finishing season 1, so make sure to watch the OVA 1 of Haikyuu. OVAs (Original Video Animation) are extra chapters of the animes; In some of them are just irrelevant but funny chapters, but in some other cases are extra info. Haikyuu has 3 OVAs you need to watch, the first one is placed between season 1 and season 2, and there are 2 more between season 3 and 4.

Can I just say how my heart felt a sense of relief when knowing you both are so open minded on Oikawa? A lot of new fans go as far as actually hating on him, which I find so weird as Oikawa is one of the best written character. He is personally not my favourite, but I have the utmost respect for him as a player. Yes, he is childish and sassy, but he speaks the truth when it comes to volleyball. You can’t help but feel afraid of him, but also amazed at how strong and smart he is. I hope you can keep your mind open for him and see past his snarky remarks. You don’t need to “like” him, but don’t ignore his words either. Oikawa is such an impressive presence and influence for all Karasuno players Can’t wait for the last few episodes of season 1. I can only say that you will get breathless after watching the match. My favourite season is coming up next. Thank you so much for the reaction and Wednesday has been my favourite day of the week! Thank you again for bringing us so much joy! 🧡

Xiaoxiao

hiiiii, first of all, thank u for your reaction always funny, and really well done. I would recommend to watch some irl game, I think this would help you understand the real speed of a game, and how fast you need to react. So I thought I could suggest you some videos/match. I'll try to put the link to the youtube video but I don't know if this will work, if it's not working just search "JPN vs ITA Highlights final 3-4 | Man's VNL 2023" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY9sGMIl5Uw&ab_channel=VolleyballWorld This is a beautiful match, Japan against Italy, from 2023 VNL (Volleyball National League) and I think this highlights of the match could be really funny and interesting to watch and react. If you don't have time don't worry I completely understand, but if you could watch even some minutes of it it will be great! Sorry if I made some mistake with english, I'm from Italy and it's my fist time writing a comment and I'm not really confident in my english. thank u for reading my comment and have a good day and a good reaction :) p.s. I'm always waiting for your's Haikyuu video, so if you could do some more video in a week that would be great!
