FR. the first few times they did comment reads it was cool, and I liked the concept but it's become these weebs homework to make sure they know EVERY SINGLE THING YOU CAN possibly know about the show and each character and every scene, and how you're supposed to feel, and how everyone thinks, and it's like damn, let them form their own opinions and watch the damn show. And I agree that saying she needs saving is a bit extreme, as she probably wouldn't have been as reckless as before however stopping her was a necessary thing because 1 they need to strategize better and 2 they also don't know what capabilities the titan has at that point as she seemed very well versed in combat plus the hardening so who knows what else she has in store.

I'd say because of the huge difference in experience, and that levi even when enraged he went through enough to see the bigger, like when they captured the female titan first time, he was super angry but all he planned to do was cut off the limbs of whoever is inside and not kill because deep inside, he knows that whoever is controlling that titan knows much more than what Eren knows.

On a serious note though I really appreciate that you guys are trying to not pause the video unless something is needed to be reflected upon. Don't get me wrong though yall analysis and banter is great and I'm here for it, but sometimes it's just annoying to me because I believe you would enjoy these series a little bit more if you guys paused a tad bit less in the big moments, (yall got a lot better at this tbf) because of the suspense getting milder when taking breaks. My suggestion is to write the extensive thoughts down and bring them up somewhere afterwards, in the mid or post-episode discussion perhaps. But maybe it's just me idk! Ahhh R.I.P. Levi Squad. Honestly the death flags in this episode were just too much. In the scene where the Female Titan transformed for the second time, notice how Erwin said that if they focused on making the BEST moves, they will never defeat the enemy and that they must take big RISKS and be prepared to lose everything then it cuts back to Levi Squad with Eldo telling Eren to escape and head for the HQ because it’s the BEST move and his power is too RISKY. That sequence not only foreshadows the fate of the Levi Squad but also shows how great of a leader Erwin is, being able to make the right choice. Just a heads up since you’re almost at the end of season 1, there’s a post-credit scene in the last episode. 😁 Also, please watch Attack on Titan OVA: Ilse’s Notebook before starting Season 2. It’s a special episode but it includes some important plot points. You can also watch No Regrets OVA which focuses on Levi’s backstory before he became a part of the Survey Corps. I really enjoy watching your reactions and how you always take time to learn the names of the characters even the side ones like Squad Leader Ness and Sys. More power to you guys! 😊

He’s more distraught than anyone but he's so used to people around him dying that he cares so much yet he cant care anymore since it happens too often. Isayama meant to do that with the caracter. As much as these past few episodes were about trust, I also think they were about just not knowing the outcome of our actions 100%. Your choices can lead you to many different directions in life and there's just no way in knowing for sure if we've made the right choice, until the results show. And then I guess it's about accepting the results and learning to live with that. I love this show :))))) I can't wait for next weeks eps especially!!!

My favorite part of the episode was seeing Mikasa’s trauma come out when Eren was taken by the female titan, only for it to be suppressed in that epic musical score by her rage and need to get him back with the chase. One of the great things about this show is that it doesn’t shy away from human trauma, something that is hard to show in many shows out there. It also is why in many parts this show is relatable. E.g. it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Mikasa has attachment issues in light of her trauma (beginning at the cabin scene). It goes to show that no character, like us, is perfect, making this show in all its gory glory a relatable experience to each viewer.

you asked if it gets any crazier, my reply to that is: what you are seeing now is not crazy AT ALL compared to what’s gonna happen in the future. Also, be prepared, any character could die at any time and i mean permanently, not like Eren’s first time getting eaten. When i say “any character” is not an exaggeration, death can come any time fighting a titan, after all. You can feel attached to characters but don’t forget this show is quite cruel - Levi Squad won’t be the end of the casualties. Season 1 is the “calmest” season as far as craziness and death goes.

Season one is actually the slowest season of AOT but very important of course in terms of character introductions and making us understand how their world is actually like Edit: I know many people have requested the Levi OVAs and "ilse's journal" ova reactions and they are absolutely right.. I just wanna scream rn. Ain’t no way. AINT NO WAY THE LEVI SQUAD JUST DIED LIKE THAT. I’m so mad and hurt. I really want to cry. I’m thinking about Levi. How’s he going to act when he allows this to process. Mikasa makes several acute, shrewd, well-trained, well-placed slices (at the elbow and knee joints as she has been taught). She also disables the female Titan to the ground with the last slice to the back of the knee halting the titan’s escape. Her next move is also calculated and follows her disciplined training. She goes for the nape/kill. She stops and reflects on the titan’s hardening skills which are new to her. She has not yet witnessed hardening, so why would she anticipate it? Mikasa, paused on a tree to monologue, engaged and aware, then dodges the female titan’s punch. Her next solo move is unknown because Levi arrives. Levi grabs her momentarily to strategize as partners, then releases her. I agree that Levi’s has more strategical experience, but at no point is Mikasa “out of her mind.” Highly driven, highly honed in, yes, but Levi treats her as an integral teammate who he trusts to execute his plan. The greatest argument I would have to counter your post is a spoiler, so I’ll leave my thoughts at the above. No apology needed. I always appreciate analysis and dialogue. I agree with you that Mikasa is very skilled, but at that moment she was so blind from her rage, like what happened back in episode 7, she wasn't calm in executing her moves and don't forget that while she's extremely talented she's still inexperienced when it comes to titan fights, especially to an intelligent titan at that, she didn't even try to consider or see what happened when her blade couldn't pierce the skin. So chances of her actually killing the female titan there are rather slim and if she went in too deep into the forest and her gas ran out from all the maneuvers... Yeah she needed saving, or at least to put some sense in her. And I apologise if you meant something else with your comment :)

Eren was just losing his shit on top of the female titan coz he is inexperienced and does not have great self-control. The female titan was chilling coz Levi squad did a number on her and she wanted to heal her hands. That's why she was evading early on in the fight and started punching back after she heals.

The scene where Levi was passing through the dead bodies of his squad with that grim face is still one of the most heartbreaking scenes for me in the ENTIRE SHOW. Even though we only got to know Levi Squad for a short time these past couple episodes and they are basically just a small part in the entirety of the story, they were great soldiers and great people.. I've really grown fond of them in that short period. 😭 And i guess it just feels a lot heavier if you know about Levi's back story. There's a two-parter OVA about Levi's back story and I would very much suggest you watch it! It tells quite a lot about Levi and his past before he was in the Survey Corp. A lot of the patreons already told you about the OVAs and the right order to watch them so whether you watch them on your own time or react to them, I hope you really get to the OVAs.

i know it got you guys confused so im gonna explain. in the scene where eren was on top of the female titan where they seem to be frozen just staring at each other, it wasnt actually them just sitting there for a minute frozen. it was eren processing his thoughts in a quick way but for us watchers, those dialogue moments have to be explained. so in reality that scene probably lasted 15 seconds at most. it just had to be explained to the watchers what eren was thinking it happens a lot in anime so it should eventually become a normal occurrence (sorry for explaining poorly i tried my best)

Fun fact about the disclosure they gave us about the horses. The horses that they breed are roughly the average size of a thoroughbred horse. (The type of horses you see in horse races, like Kentucky derby and the like) they also can reach speeds up to ~71km/h or (44mph) and while that might feel like a moderate speed in say a car, it's absolutely wild how fast it feels from the back of a horse. I grew up barrel racing quarter horses which is the fastest short distance running breed of horse with top speeds at 55mph. It's a rush.

1 thing i really appreciated from you guys!!❤❤❤ I'm glad you guys didn't say "Levi doesn't even look sad seeing his squad dead before his eyes". Because i've seen people say this before. How Levi is cold-hearted. And it couldn't be further from the truth. Because he cares more than anyone, he cares so much it's heartbreaking. He knows he has a duty and is obligated to look forward and keep fighting. He doesn't have time to mourn anyones death. It reminds of the episode where we first met the survey corps and saw the character "Levi" for the first time. It was episode 9 in season 1. When his comrade died. Levi is a clean freak as we all know, he hates blood, dust or anything. But he held his comrades bloody and filthy hand because he respected him so much. Despite Levi being a clean freak, he held his hand until his comrade passed away. Depite his hand being filthy. That was a scene made by Isayama to show Levi's respect for his comrades. He held his comrades hand reassuring he did a great job in the survey corps before he passed. And now in this episode, he almost looks dead inside. Seeing his whole squad dead before his eyes with no time to say goodbye/farewell. Levi is an amazing character and it saddens me how some reactors see him as cold or "doesnt care". When in reality, he cares the most out of anyone.
