So enjoying watching this odyssey through first-timers eyes.💜 Revisit suggestion: If you would like some insight into Mikasa and Eren’s dynamic, rewatch the brief scene after mealtime where Jean Kerstein compliments Mikasa on her hair. Take into consideration Jean and Eren’s earlier posturing with each other where they shook hands and walked away from each other, then the compliment from Jean to Mikasa, then the immediate follow up conversation between Eren and Mikasa regarding her hair, then Mikasa’s subsequent appearance.

2024-02-18 16:12:04 +0000 UTCIn case you missed it, the belt Eren was initially using had a defect that's why he had a hard time balancing on it. The instructor even said that it was his 1st time encountering a defect like that, insinuating that its "unusual". This however proves that Eren is even MORE talented because he WAS able to stay upright for a few seconds EVEN THOUGH his belt was defective, which amazed the other trainees. He was able to prove them wrong at the end and managed to impress the instructor as well. PS: ANIME 101, you should always remember that as this is still an Anime, some scenes may be depicted to be unrealistic to emphasize certain emotions or atmosphere like Sasha's reaction to food. You shouldn't take them too literally, sometimes they are also exaggerated for comedic effect.

I've seen many people, myself included have their first thought be "Did someone sabotage it?" because the instructor says that he's never seen this break on it's own before. We know that Mikasa tried to prevent Eren from joining the Scouts, and she continued to tell him to give up on being a soldier in this episode. Her main concern has always been Eren's safety, and joining the scouts is something she views as a near-guaranteed death sentence.

We get to see what Eren actually thinks, and Armin's understanding is more in line with Eren's actual thoughts. Be careful to not take any character's words as the full truth, as they are all human with their own biases and potential misunderstandings. You can trust someone's thoughts far more than what they say aloud.

POTATO GIRL 🥔 Sasha loves food! The scene with Sasha going wild at the smell of food is just to emphasize the fact that my girl enjoys good grub. Beautiful music? One thing that I’m thankful AOT introduced me to is the legendary composer Hiroyuki Sawano. The soundtrack is beyond exceptional in my opinion.

2024-02-17 06:23:44 +0000 UTCJapanese doesn't emphasise a specific syllable so every part of Mikasa is said for the same duration of time. So it's not mee kasa or mi kaa sa, it's plain old mikasa. Unless you ever see something written akin to Miikasa or Mikaasa. Essentially, one vowel = 1 beat. Similar to how you learnt the pronunciation for Yagami.

And you will see a bit of goofy scenes like this from time to time... the show is intense and dark that's why some people might not get the humor side of it when presented in some moments but there are humor bits in the show as well, like the ones with Sasha here zooming to the speed of light to get the bread.. 😂 So yeah don't overthink those moments too much and just enjoy the subtle comedy from time to time. And LOL, Connie is indeed Tanaka's little bro!! They're literally like peas in a pod and they have somewhat similarity in personality as well! 😂

They are literal child soldiers. So when they act their age, it seems very immature. Your Patreons are wonderful. Everyone is asking great questions and giving great explanations. I enjoy the first half just as much as the actual episode Trivia! "Jaeger" Erens last name is German, and it means "hunter" Eren is popular because he's seen an actual Titan. It's crazy to realize, but most people have never seen one because of the walls. Sasha is just a funny character. She doesn't have magic powers or anything, but you'll find out why she's weird eventually Grisha is Erens dad. It's his first name

Some of the character traits can be played off as a joke since early in the shows creation, and perhaps the original comic as well, there was skepticism if people who were more used to typical slapstick silliness would enjoy the gritty nature of the show's content. The original comic, or manga (mahn-guh), was serialized in shounen jump a magazine for shounen, or young boys in japanese, typically 12-15 years old for context. Basically the rule of thumb is that if you see something that makes you question the world and it made you chuckle or laugh or doesn't seem like a physical clue but is instead a character trait, it can be largely ignored and simply enjoyed at face value. On the other, hand physical depictions like lightning, or flashbacks or other attributes that bring up questions revolving around the characters circumstances like name drops or references to events can be considered as snippets or pieces of the overall puzzle that makes up the plot. As for the question about how Eren got the key, I would say that given the totality of what we've seen, it's logical to assume the timeline goes: Titans invade, Karla dies, the trio escapes Dr Jaeger hears about the breach and rushes home to find Eren and Mikasa At some point between then, and waking up in wall rose, the cryptic events of the flashback happened resulting in Eren with the key and seemingly little to no memories of what happened and Dr Jaeger nowhere to be seen.

Welcome to AOT ! :) It can be seen as a bunch of people fighting against titans and that's it, but you guys have no idea of what is waiting for you in the next episodes and seasons ! that's the best storytelling that i ever seen in my entire life, a perfection in every details, every episode will give you more and more questions, and every question will be answered sooner or later ! they dont put anything in the show without a purpose ! that's why it's the only anime made to be rewatched multiple time, you start understanding why some words and sentences are said back then ( a lot of foreshadowing ) and it's so satisfying !

Also just a few pointers that ARE NOT spoilers: - Yes, Grisha is Eren's dad. In the last few episodes they mostly called him Dr. Jeager but they did say Grisha once. - Mikasa is not Eren’s sister, you'll find out more eventually. - Sasha's eyes turning red was just part of the animation, she just loves food lol - The girl Mikasa was “talking to” was also Sasha, though she was initially talking to Eren but did not realise he left and then Sasha came and sat next to her to ask for the bread. - The first red titan that appeared and kicked the gate of Shiganshina was the Colossal titan, obviously named after its massive size as its the only one that’s able to peek over the 50meter wall when standing. - The second titan, the once that broke the gate of Wall Maria by running through it, is the Armoured titan because well… he’s armoured - Both those titans seemingly ‘disappeared’ after breaking the walls Can’t wait for the next one! :)

So Eren has the key and 2 years have passed…I want to ask you guys the same question: How do you think Eren can have his dad's basement key? Hint: think back to all the scenes of his dad shown thus far and the timeline! Gabriel did an amazing job at helping clarify the timeline in the comments 🙏 2. I am assuming based on the scenes provided in ep 1-2, Mikasa seems to be very strong so that could be the reason kids fear her. Remember how easily Mikasa dragged Eren in episode 1 when Eren hit the person for talking bad about his “heroes” , the survey corps. 3. It looks like lighting came from the sky
